I used iMovie to edit my music video, taking advantage of its effects and precision cutting tools to create lip syncing, colorization, and text. I used a digital camera to capture still images and footage, though it was difficult to use because the interface was in Japanese. Serif PhotoPlus and PagePlus allowed me to edit photos, add effects, cut out or create holes in images, and add dissolving and faded effects. I shared my evaluation questions using SlideShare, which allowed me to freely upload and comment on PowerPoint presentations.

1. How did you use new media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?

2. iMovie ... To edit my music video, I used ‘iMovie’. I found this software very easy to use because I am familiar with the program as I use it to edit the as thriller that I made in year 12. I used this program to it’s fullest, using its effects and cuts in order to give my music video a coherent final product. Using iMovie I was able to do precision editing to create lip- syncing, colourisation and text.

3. Digital camera.. I used a digital camera for both the still images and the moving footage. It was a very good quality camera, however a little difficult to use as it was from Japan and everything was written in Japanese. As it had a USB port, the still images were easy to download to put on the apple Macs. The camera had a computer connection so it was also easy to put the moving footage on the Mac.

4. Serif page plus/ Serif photo plus... Using these pieces of software I could created album cover. PhotoPlus allowed me to edit images and add effects to the images, I could also cut an image out from it’s background or cut a hole in an image, for instance, cutting out the windows of the campervan. I created the dissolving, for example the campervan image on the back of the CD to make it look faded, using Serif PagePlus. I also used this when it came to adding text to the image as it allowed me to use a wide range of fonts that were available to me.

5. Slide share... Slideshare is a great, fast, and functional web-based program. It is free, anyone can subscribe to the service and then upload to the site. This method of sharing PowerPoint presentations, posting presentations in public place for comment, like on my blog. It was a good piece of software to use because, it is possible to share slides, you can enter comments on slides and control the size of viewing window. I was able to unload all my evaluation questions using this site.
