This document discusses different types of buds based on function, activity, position, and morphology. Buds are undeveloped stems that contain embryonic leaves, lateral buds, or flower parts. Buds can be classified as vegetative, reproductive, simple, mixed, or compound based on their function. They can also be classified as dormant, growing, apical/terminal, lateral/axillary, or adventitious based on their activity and position. Morphologically, buds can be scaly/covered, hairy, or naked. Examples are provided for each bud type.
