This document discusses collaboration between Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and Uppsala University on the Swedish Deep Drilling Project (COSC). The COSC project aims to drill two deep boreholes (COSC-1 and COSC-2) to study geological structures and characterize basement rocks and hydrology. COSC-1 will drill through the Seve Nappe to study channel flow, reaching a depth of 2.5 km with 100% core recovery. Funded activities for COSC-1 include logging the borehole to detect flowing fractures, modeling fluid flow, analyzing microbial communities in fractures, characterizing water compositions, and studying fractured core samples.

The Global Ocean Ship-based Hydrographic Investigations Program (GO-SHIP) brings together scientists with interests in physical oceanography, the carbon cycle, marine biogeochemistry and ecosystems, and other users and collectors of ocean interior data, and coordinates a network of globally sustained hydrographic sections as part of the global ocean/climate observing system including physical oceanography, the carbon cycle, marine biogeochemistry and ecosystems.
GO-SHIP provides approximately decadal resolution of the changes in inventories of heat, freshwater, carbon, oxygen, nutrients and transient tracers, covering the ocean basins from coast to coast and full depth (top to bottom), with global measurements of the highest required accuracy to detect these changes. The GO-SHIP principal scientific objectives are: (1) understanding and documenting the large-scale ocean water property distributions, their changes, and drivers of those changes, and (2) addressing questions of how a future ocean that will increase in dissolved inorganic carbon, become more acidic and more stratified, and experience changes in circulation and ventilation processes due to global warming and altered water cycle.
The Geological Survey of NSW collects and manages geological, geophysical, geochemical and geospatial data to inform the government, resource industry and the community about the state's geology, and mineral, coal, petroleum and renewable energy resources to facilitate the safe and sustainable development of NSW mineral and energy resources for the benefit of all NSW citizens.

The Square Kilometre Array (SKA), even in its first phase (SKA Phase 1, or SKA1) will be the largest ground-based astronomical facility ever built, with unprecedented sensitivity in the frequency ranges for local to highly redshifted HI, and future expansion up to 25 GHz. The range of science cases that the SKA telescopes will cater for will also be the largest of any research facility, from the Epoch of Reionization (EoR) and the Cosmic Down (CD), to tests of Einstein’s General Relativity, to finding all detectable pulsars in the Milky Way, and helping with the Cradle of Life case for Astrobiology. In this talk we will go through the different science cases, with emphasis in those with the most cosmological significance, such as EoR, CD, and probing General Relativity. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes.
