WELLNESS
COMPONENTS OF HEALTH
12
Although WHO has defined health
as a state of complete physical,
mental and social well being and
not merely an absence of disease or
infirmity, but attainment of a level
of health that will enable every
individual to lead a socially and
economically productive life. But
health is the outcome in all the
components of wellness.
DIFFERENCE BETWEEN HEALTH,
WELLNESS & PERSONALITY
Health refers to current status in
each component irrespective
Wellness refers to behaving with
self-responsibility for maximizing
health status in each domain.
While Personality refers to one’s
adaptability to change
circumstances in light of one’s
genes.
Contd..(2).
13
CONTD…(2)
Hence, for best personality
development, one has to learn the
gene actions and switching
harmful genes off and switching
healthful genes on with self-
responsibility of wellness and by
behaviour changes required for
maximizing potential personality.
14
HEALTH AND WELLNESS
15
There is only minor difference
between health & wellness. While
health may be positive (fighting
disease with immune system) or
negative (remaining healthy by
taking regular medicine) examined
from self responsible behaviours.
However, components or domains
of health, wellness & personality
are the same of one’s behaviours.
