8. What License I should choose?

Licensing a collection Licensing a remix
• You must attribute each individual work, with the
terms of their licenses
• You can license the entire collection, but ONLY
apply to the collection itself or your new added
contribution work, NOT to the single works within
the collection
• You must attribute to the individual of all of the sources
that were remixed (the original cc license always
applies to the materials you are adapting)
• You can license the new remix you’ve created, but the
license you choose must be compatible with the
licenses of the original works
General rules:
• You have to attribute the original work when you create an adaptation
• Consider license compatibility
• If the individual work using a NoDerivatives license, you can make and use changes only in your private
work and you cannot share your adaptation with others.
• If the individual work using a ShareAlike license, you must use ShareAlike or a compatible license to your
adaptation work (called your “adapter license”).
• Your rights in your adaptation only apply to your own contributions
• The original license continues for reuse of the elements from the original work that you used in your adaptation
work.

10. When the original work uses one of The Six CC-Licenses below:

your adapter’s license include at least the same license elements as the license
applied to the original material
Your adapter’s license must be the same license as the license on the
material you are adapting.
In Adaptations/remixs/ derivative work: ND license Do not permit distribution of
adaptations work and forbids the creation of adaptations under the pre-4.0 versions.
However, in a collection: ND licenses do allow you to reproduce the material in
unmodified form together with other material.
