4. • The list for expressing gratitude may be endless, but it is
advisable that you rank and sort people as per crucial
roles played.
• Limit the people by qualifying only those who truly
deserve an authorship.
• Example: A co-worker who helped you set up the lab and
arranged samples for the research experiments or the
statisticians who helped you with data analysis.
• Avoid over thanking. Gratitude must be sincere, clear, and
concise. Refrain from using flowery language and overtly
polite words.

5. • Sponsors are an integral part of your work, and
expressing your gratitude to your sponsors is as essential,
for their contribution has helped fuel your project
• Furthermore, this act of courtesy will earn you goodwill,
and the sponsor may be further willing to aid you for your

even if there are no COI among the authors.
• Numerous journals provide a separate section for
submitting COI information. However, for those journals
that do not mention this exclusively, it is advisable to list
COI in the Acknowledgement.

7. When writing remember if paper is written in American
English then the letter ‘e’ will be omitted and if in British
English then ‘e’ will be added.
Example:
• American Spelling - ‘Acknowledgment’
• British Spelling- ‘Acknowledgement’
Nevertheless, it is recommended to check the standing
instructions given by the journal when writing/ PhD paper
editing.
