Resistors and breadboard
Resistors come in different sizes and colors to indicate their resistance values. The last color band on a resistor, usually gold or silver, indicates the tolerance of the resistor. To calculate a resistor's value, identify the color bands from right to left and write down the corresponding digits, placing the appropriate number of zeroes after the last digit based on its band's color. Breadboards are used to prototype circuits without permanent connections. They contain rows of metal strips that allow components to be connected easily and tested without soldering. Circuit diagrams use symbols to represent components and show how they are connected to form a working circuit.
Electricity and basic components

- 2. Components Sensors: Refers to the components that are programmed to “sense”; receive information from the outside of the robot (touch, distance, light, color, etc.). Touch: Push button. Distance: Ultrasonic. Light/color.
- 3. Sensors In the software, you can see if the sensor is or not connected, also what measures are being recieved. Sensors must be always connected to the numerical ports.
- 4. Touch sensor
- 5. Distance sensor Ultrasonic: It is able to measure in centimeters and inches, it can differentiate between 4 and 210 cm in front of the sensor. Detects mostly flat surfaces. It does not differentiate colors.
- 6. Light/color sensor Ambient light: The sensor emits white light and captures readings of the luminescence in the environment, in this state, the sensor will glow in BLUE (sort of). Numerical readings (0 – 100) Near to 0 Near to 100 Darkness Lightness
- 7. Light/color sensor Reflected light: The sensor emits an infrared beam and depending on the reflectance of the light, determines the color in front of it (between 1cm and 4cm), in this state, the sensor will glow in RED. Numerical readings (0 – 100) Near to 0 Near to 100 Black White
