Experiments
Kieran Bradley
Process
The above image you see was an experiment that I did,
in order to show the process on the timeline tool
within Photoshop. To do this process well I needed to
make sure I got the timing of each image correct. To do
this, I first created a layer and made all of the correct
measurements to ensure I had the right sized blank
canvas, then I produced a number of coloured blocks
to show how the timeline tool works, as I will be using
this throughout my production. I then copied one black
and repeated this process throughout, then I added a
time on to each frame, this allowed me to put the
frames on a continuous loop.

• What elements of your experiments will you include in your final product?
• Looking at this process, I have seen that I will use a number of different elements, for example I will use
the timeline tool throughout my production. Also I will use the colouring tool, that I have used in this
process because this will help me bring my video game to life in a way, and also set the scene. Also I may
use a number of different tools that I haven’t included in this experiment process, I may use, the stroke
tool for example.
Process
During this process I created my experiment
characters, to do this I selected the pencil tool, then
set this to pixels. I then drew the two characters,
with weapons, at this stage I started to create my
timeline and also add the time that I wanted each
frame to last. I also created the bullets for the
weapons and used the colouring tool to add colour
to them. Also on this slide you will see my final
experiment. I am pleased with how it turned out,
because I know that pixel art, drawing isn’t one of
my strong points, but with this being said I think I
have produced something that resembles a game
and I can justify each tool I have used and why I
used them.

• What elements of your experiments will you include in your final product?
– After completing this process, I have taken away few elements that I would like to use when I come
to produce my video game. I will take away the colours that I have used, because I think that they go
very well together. I will also take away the different tools that I have used when carrying out this
process.
Process
During this process I explored the timeline tool that is one of the
very important elements, when I come to produce my video game.
I have now learnt about this tool, I will also take away the timings
that I have used within my experiment and use them in my final
product.
Reflection
• What elements of your experiments will you include in your final product?
– I will include the same timing I have used throughout my experiment, I will also use the same colours
and the same movement I have produced. Also I will include the same theme I have incorporated
throughout my experiment.
