This document discusses the strategic planning effort for Transportation For The Nation (TFTN), a project to create a nationwide geospatial database of all roads. The planning effort aims to identify requirements, challenges, and solutions through stakeholder interviews. There is widespread support for TFTN due to its potential benefits for safety, emergency response, and cross-border coordination. Two potential models are expanding the Highway Performance Monitoring System to include all roads, or facilitating state-level partnerships with counties and the private sector. Overcoming obstacles could maximize benefits like improved data sharing and access to federal funding for road inventories.

Enhancing budget literacy in Russia: Approaches, latest developments and firs...OECD Governance
The document discusses approaches to enhancing budget literacy in Russia. It proposes building a multidimensional system to present budget data in a way that is easily understood by citizens. This would involve adapting information based on the target group and using multiple dissemination channels. The document also outlines plans to implement new feedback tools, develop a common budget portal, and produce a "Citizen's Budget" brochure. It discusses the information that would be included on the budget portal and a module for the Citizen's Budget. The goal of the Citizen's Budget is to provide citizens with objective and easy to understand information about the budget and its execution.

Evaluation results found that Treatment B scored higher than A on most perceived quality dimensions, though few differences were statistically significant. Sensitivity to the treatments varied by participant background, with environmental/transport engineering students more positive about Treatment B's process quality and us

This document discusses negotiating between digital and analog research methods in political science. It outlines experiences examining Finnish political party platforms and government programs digitally from 1880-2012 and 1917-2015 respectively. Key findings include:
1) Wordfish and structural topic modeling reveal changing emphases over time from "traditional" to "modern" issues in party platforms.
2) Government programs covered nation-building, economic development, and later welfare policy.
3) Digital methods provide new insights but must be carefully integrated with theory and interpretation to be persuasive to traditional political science. Hybrid research combining methods is most promising.

The integrated strategic agenda for Kavala (2030) represents a planning document designed by the URBASOFIA team together with international experts (Derek Martin, Cristina Tartari - TASCA Studio, Joep de Roo - Eurodite, Daniela Patti, Levente Polyak) for the city of Kavala, Greece, through the South East Europe project STATUS.
The STATUS Book represents the compendium of all results of the European SEE STATUS Project. It is a scientific book comprising of top-quality international research content generated through STATUS, a joint effort of all experts from URBASOFIA, Eurodite, ISOCARP, IFHP, INU, RUR, UIRS, Fondazione Graphitech and from the participating cities and regions (Abruzzo, Alba Iulia, Baia Mare, Balti, Drama, Foggia, Herceg Novi, Kavala, Satu Mare and Temerin).
URBASOFIA is a town and regional planning company created in October 2011. Although fairly young, both its founders and collaborators have a vast experience in urban and territorial issues, design and management of EU-funded projects, especially in what concerns those connected to territorial cohesion and social inclusion related topics.
The impetus to form URBASOFIA arose in response to the need for a better cooperation between practitioners, researchers, industry/private investors and developers, and other professionals involved in town planning in Europe. The focus was launching a company collaborating with very high profile consultants, researchers and international experts, which could provide for and allow services in:
- Town and regional strategic and environmental planning,
- Social inclusion and urban regeneration,
- Smart city strategies,
- Training, communication, dissemination and networking.
SUNSHINE delivers an extensible open toolkit featuring three smart services for:
- energy assessment of buildings at urban scale for the creation of “ecomaps” and their energy pre-certification;
- optimisation of energy consumption of heating/cooling systems based on localised weather forecasts and energy modelling of buildings;
- optimisation of power consumption through remote control of public illumination levels.
The toolkit will be delivered as interoperable open middleware ensuring, in an interoperable manner:
access to geospatial features;
access to Automatic Meter Reading (AMR) functions;
definition of alerts.

The STATUS project is tackling the problem of incoherent urban and regional development in South Eastern European and neighbouring countries by jointly developing an approach that can help cities and regions in making integrated and sustainable urban agendas and place based strategies by participatory planning tools.
Its overall objective is to assist city authorities of the SEE (South East Europe) countries in developing Strategic Territorial/Urban Agendas, as a tool for sustainable and integrated development in line with 21st century standards, and in implementing Urban Centers, as places where to shape, together with active local actors, the planning process that leads to the definition of strategic visions and the design of integrated urban plans.
The Alba Iulia Investment Folder has been a joint effort of URBASOFIA and EURODITE companies for Alba Iulia as a client. The book shares the local experience of the STATUS project, together with the city's strategy for 2030, funding priorities, portfolio of flagship projects and opportunities for local, regional, national and European partnership.
