3 Day Startup is an entrepreneurship education program 
where university students learn by doing.
Goals of the Program: 
• Gain entrepreneurship skills and 
capabilities through concepts such as 
learning-by-doing, customer feedback, 
rapid prototyping, and fast failure 
• Outputs: pitch + demo 
• 3 months of progress in 3 days 
• Connections to cofounders, mentors, 
investors, and other champions
Who should be a 
3DS Lead Organizer?
Types of Lead Organizers 
• Short answer: anyone who is a student (or 
recent grad) and enthusiastic about 
entrepreneurship 
• Past organizers have included: 
– Undergraduates 
– Graduates 
– PhDs 
– Non-business, non-computer science students 
– Alumni
Why should you be a 
3DS Lead Organizer?
As an organizer you become: 
• A Founder/Lead Organizer of 3DS at your 
university 
• The liaison between your college and local 
startup community 
• A future 3DS facilitator where we fly you to 
another 3DS program 
• Invited to 3DS Austin 
• Connected to the 3DS Global Community 
of participants, mentors, and investors
Major Roles
Your University’s Roles 
Organizing Team (5-10 hrs/wk): 1 lead 
organizer, 1 faculty advisor, 3+ support roles; 
expected to help during the weekend 
• Participants (3 full days): 30-50 students 
selected to attend the 3DS program 
• Mentors (5-10 hours): 3-6 individuals passionate 
about helping students start companies 
• Panelists (2 hours): 3-4 local entrepreneurs, 
angel/VC investors, and distinguished professors
Remote 3DS Global Roles 
Program Manager (2-3 
months): sets up 
infrastructure and guides the 
Organizing Team before the 
three days through: 
• Increasing awareness of startup 
ecosystem 
• Promotions 
• Talent identification 
• Applicant selection 
• Bootcamp preparation 
• Panel/mentor curation 
Onsite Facilitator (3 full 
days): implements the 3DS 
model alongside the 
Organizing Team to lead the 
following: 
• Student company creation 
• Investor/mentor connections, 
cofounder matching 
• Learning outcomes tied to team 
building 
• Product development 
• Pitching

  • 3. 3 Day Startup is an entrepreneurship education program where university students learn by doing.

Goals of the Program: • Gain entrepreneurship skills and capabilities through concepts such as learning-by-doing, customer feedback, rapid prototyping, and fast failure • Outputs: pitch + demo • 3 months of progress in 3 days • Connections to cofounders, mentors, investors, and other champions
  • 6. Who should be a 3DS Lead Organizer?
  • 7. Types of Lead Organizers • Short answer: anyone who is a student (or recent grad) and enthusiastic about entrepreneurship • Past organizers have included: – Undergraduates – Graduates – PhDs – Non-business, non-computer science students – Alumni
  • 8. Why should you be a 3DS Lead Organizer?
  • 9. As an organizer you become: • A Founder/Lead Organizer of 3DS at your university • The liaison between your college and local startup community • A future 3DS facilitator where we fly you to another 3DS program • Invited to 3DS Austin • Connected to the 3DS Global Community of participants, mentors, and investors

Your University’s Roles Organizing Team (5-10 hrs/wk): 1 lead organizer, 1 faculty advisor, 3+ support roles; expected to help during the weekend • Participants (3 full days): 30-50 students selected to attend the 3DS program • Mentors (5-10 hours): 3-6 individuals passionate about helping students start companies • Panelists (2 hours): 3-4 local entrepreneurs, angel/VC investors, and distinguished professors

Remote 3DS Global Roles Program Manager (2-3 months): sets up infrastructure and guides the Organizing Team before the three days through: • Increasing awareness of startup ecosystem • Promotions • Talent identification • Applicant selection • Bootcamp preparation • Panel/mentor curation Onsite Facilitator (3 full days): implements the 3DS model alongside the Organizing Team to lead the following: • Student company creation • Investor/mentor connections, cofounder matching • Learning outcomes tied to team building • Product development • Pitching
