PRiSM incorporates best practices from other frameworks like PMBOK and ISO 14001, focusing on how to practically apply sustainability concepts to projects. 26000 vs 21500
ISO 26000 defines stakeholders as any individual or group with an interest in an organization's decisions or activities. ISO 21500 defines project stakeholders more specifically as any person, group, or organization affected by or able to affect the project. It identifies key stakeholder groups like the project governance, project organization, special interest groups, and customers. However, ISO 21500 contradictorily introduces the term "additional stakeholders" for some internal groups, which is confusing since all stakeholders should be considered equally important to the project's success. The document argues that no standards define a single group as "The Stakeholders" and that the only useful distinction is between internal and external stakeholders.
