Pixy is a new graph query language that dispels 3 common myths about graph query languages (GQLs). It shows that GQLs and graph traversal languages can be used together, that GQLs do not need to be slower than traversal languages, and that GQLs are capable of expressing relational queries over graph data. Pixy compiles GQL queries to Gremlin expressions, derives N-ary relations from property graphs, and integrates its querying capabilities directly into the Gremlin traversal language.
