The study evaluates a new technique called 'thrombization' during endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR) which significantly reduces the risk of type II endoleaks compared to standard EVAR. Out of 404 patients, those undergoing EVAR with thrombization had a much lower endoleak incidence (2.2%) compared to those with standard EVAR (15.2%). The use of fibrin glue and microcoils for thrombization is shown to be a safe, effective, and cost-efficient method for stabilizing the aneurysm sac.
