PAST CONTINUOUS
Use
We use the “past continuous” to talk about something that was happening continuously
in a designated time in the past. Ex.: At 10 0’clock last night I was sleeping.
COMPARE:
I am eating. (estou comendo, presente, neste momento).
I was eating. (estava comendo, passado, num momento do passado).
Past continuous – verb to be (in the past) + ing
Form

I was playing. I wasn’t playing. Was I playing?
You were playing. You weren’t playing. Were you playing?
He/ She/ It was playing. He/ She/ It wasn’t playing. Was he/she/it playing?
