The document outlines support provided by various UNFCCC bodies to help countries develop National Adaptation Plans (NAPs). It discusses how the Least Developed Countries Expert Group (LEG) provides technical guidelines, tools, and workshops. It also captures lessons learned and needs. The Adaptation Committee supports NAPs through a task force and reviews guidelines. The Nairobi Work Programme also engages organizations to support the NAP process. Overall, the document summarizes how UNFCCC bodies collaborate to help developing countries formulate and implement NAPs.

Supplements to the guidelines are available on
NAP Central
<http://www4.unfccc.int/nap/Guidelines/Pages/
Supplements.aspx>
The guidelines provide the basis for the formulation and
implementation of NAPs
7. NAP workshops
The workshops use a bottom-up approach of working through the NAP-
SDG iFrame, using country inputs to select relevant SDGs and related
development goals, which them inform adaptation strategies, options and
actions
Countries work through the process to arrive at a pilot NAP, which can
then be used to identify gaps and needs that would inform the proposal to
the GCF for the steps needed to produce a high-quality and country-
specific NAP.
All this work is iterative, ongoing and would be designed to gradually build
up the capacity for all necessary adaptation activities over time, including
production of updated/revised plans in future, steps to implement and
monitor the adaptation activities, etc – this is the NAP process
Open NAPs – real cases for real countries, provide the concrete
materials and examples for the delivery of the training
8. NAP workshops (schedule)
First workshop took place from 27 Feb to 3 March 2017 in Malawi
