4. Philosophy
While high school sports are about participation, we don’t prescribe to the idea
that everyone will get equal playing time.
JV1 & JV2 players may find that the minutes are more evenly distributed.
Naturally, we want to win every game that we play.
We do substitute often, and they are unlimited in high school soccer. Substitutions
often depend on the positions played, and the depth and number of players at
each position.
We do make it a point of trying to find some game time for each player on a regular
basis (not every game however, and assuming that players attend practices
regularly).

Practices begin next Monday, March 12
• Fitness: 8am-Fr/So 10am-Jr/Sr
• Skills: 4pm-All
• Finishing/GK: 12:30 (T/Th/F)
Makeup Sessions (for those missing SB practices) start Monday, March 19, 6:30am
Teams will lift after school 2 days/week
• M/F, at 3:45 is our set time
• Each team will have the flexibility to adjust
accordingly, based on each week’s game
schedule.
• Normal practices will take place after lifting

• Scrimmages used for placement confirmation
• Must complete fitness testing to participate

1. Academics
In-Season (Team) Policy
• Must have a C (70%) or better in all classes, once practices begin
• Will not be permitted to play in competitions
• Will not travel with the team (when leaving school early)
• Work with teacher/tutor during practices, as needed
Final Grades (in line with LMCSD policy)
• 30-day penalty
• F (starting on 1st competition date)
• F+ (once grades are posted at the end of term)

2. Code of Conduct: Use of Tobacco/Nicotine/Alcohol/Other Drugs
In line with LMCSD Good Conduct Policy:
1st offense: 20% suspension from competitions + counseling
2nd offense: 50% suspension from competitions + counseling
3rd offense: one year suspension from all co/extra-curricular activities + counseling
4th offense: permanent suspension from all co/extra-curricular activities + counseling

3. In-Game Penalties (in line with IAHSAA policy)
YELLOW CARDS
• Players must leave the game for five (5) consecutive minutes
• Penalties carry over from half to half, half to overtime, overtime to overtime
• If yellow card is received in 2nd OT, player is disqualified from remainder of game
RED CARDS
• 2 yellow cards = red
• Player is disqualified for the remainder of the match; team plays short
• Player is disqualified from next playing “date” and must complete sportsmanship
course
12. Yellow & Red Card Violations
As a coaching staff, we reserve the right to hand out punishments
beyond state-required guidelines.
Differences in officiating styles have caused us to look at each situation
on a case-by-case basis.
All decisions are final

4. Absences
• Players MUST attend practices, regularly, in order to play in games
• If players do not attend classes, they should not be practicing
• If players know they are going to be gone in advance, PARENTS,
please email Coach Brinkmeyer
• Any absence may result in a loss of playing time; Unexcused absences
WILL result in a loss of playing time

5. Dual Sport Athletes / Club Soccer Players
Please inform the Athletic Department, if you are a Dual-Sport (LM)
athlete
Please inform the coaching staff if you will be practicing/playing with a
club/ODP program during the season
Missing practice times for any reason, will likely result in a loss of
playing time

6. Injuries
Please inform your coach if you get injured during practice or games
Players will often be referred to our Athletic Trainers, Vince
Klopfenstein and Marissa Yorgey
• Treatment or additional consultation will ensue
• Players will be told how/when they can return to regular activity
If a player needs immediate medical attention and a doctor/hospital
treats the player, they must provide a note before returning to activity

Never post about injuries or team decisions
Keep posts clean and positive, you are a representative of our program
Don’t post anything you wouldn’t say to your Grandma, or to
someone’s face

• $3 ea or 2/$5
• Jimmy Johns will provide meals to players wishing to have a pre-made
meal for away games. Seven (7) dates have been selected for each
team. Total amount due is $56.
• Meal includes sandwich (Turkey/Ham/Roast Beef), chips, cookie, bottled water
