7. Time Preferences
• Teams must input the time preferences before the registration
deadline
• Time preferences are not guaranteed to be met, but we will do
our best to accommodate
• Time preferences may not be met during playoffs, as we are
limited on our options and times are dependent upon how your
team progresses through the bracket
8. Schedules
• Softball will be played at the Cain Sports Complex
on Monday-Thursday
• Schedule will be released the Friday prior to the
season start
– You can find the schedule on IMLeagues
9. Reschedules
• Maximum of 2 per team per sport
• The captain requesting the reschedule must do the
following:
– Email the Assistant Director to receive the open times
– Reach out to the opposing team captain through
IMLeagues to find a time to reschedule
– Once a time and day has been selected, the captain must
confirm the day and time with the Assistant Director
• Both teams must agree to the reschedule and proof of the
agreement via email must be forwarded
• We will do our best to accommodate you, but realize
we are working with limited times, days, and space!
10. Forfeits/Defaults
• Forfeits
– Failure to show up at the assigned game time without
properly notifying the IM Staff will result in a forfeit
– Not meeting the minimum player/gender requirement will
also result in a forfeit
– Negatively affects sportsmanship
• Failure to meet minimum player requirements = 3.0
• No show = 2.0
• Unacceptable conduct = 0.0
• Defaults
– No contest, or game that did not happen
• A cancellation for example
– Teams causing the default will receive a 3.5 sportsmanship
rating, opposing teams receive a 4.0
11. Student Officials
• The success of the IM program is contingent upon the
quality of its staff and participants
• All Intramural games are officiated by TAMUC student
officials
• They deserve and expect your cooperation, respect, and
sportsmanlike behavior
• We train our officials and expect them to officiate to the
best of their ability
• Should you have an interest in becoming a student official,
please fill out an application and plan to attend the training
sessions
12. Player Eligibility/Rosters
• Player Eligibility
– Any currently enrolled student, faculty, or staff
member at TAMUC can participate
– Participants are only allowed to play on one
single-gender team and Co-Rec team per sport
• Rosters
– Once a person has played on a team, they are
locked to that roster
– Rosters will be locked prior to playoffs
13. Captain’s Responsibilities
• As a captain, you are responsible for:
– Time preferences
– Team schedules/reschedules
– Eligibility of players
– Team and spectator behavior
– Knowledge of rules and policies
– Communication with IM staff
14. Facility Rules
• Alcohol/Drugs/Tobacco are strictly
prohibited
– Any player or spectator suspected of being
under the influence will be asked to leave the
facility
• Clean up after yourself – pick up your trash!
• Abide by rules and regulations set by
Intramural and Facility staff
15. Check-In Process
• Show up to the game site early
• Seek out the supervisor, in a polo, or the official, in
orange/stripes to check in
• If you are on the IMLeagues roster you can show
your Lion card or a state identification card
• Coaches will be required to check-in
16. Rules Overview
• Roster max of 22 for all teams
– 10v10, Co-Rec can play with a gender ratio of 5:5, 5:4, or 4:4
• Equipment
– Most jewelry is prohibited. Stud earrings, flat necklaces, and cloth
or rubber bracelets are allowed.
– Tennis shoes or rubber cleats are allowed. Absolutely no metal or
metal tipped cleats.
– Ball caps are allowed.
• Game Length
– Game will be 50 minutes in length or 7 innings, whichever comes
first
• No inning will start past the 50 minute mark has passed. Playoff games
will not have a time limit.
– Clock begins at game time
• 10 Minute Grace
– 1 run added upon start of grace period
– 1 additional run added if the requirement is not met after minute five
17. Rules Overview
• Pitching
– A pitch must be delivered between a 6-12 foot range
• Batting
– All batters will start their turn at bat with a 1-ball/1-strike count
– If the batter hits a foul ball on their third strike, one courtesy foul will be
allowed. If the batter fouls off a second time on strike three, then they will
be out.
– CO-REC: batters must alternate gender
– An out will be called for any team that does not meet the player minimum
• ie. A team is only playing with 8 players, an out will occur when they get to the 9 & 10
spot (only one out, regardless of the amount of players they are missing)
• Base Running
– Stealing and leading off are not allowed in slow-pitch
– All players must slide feet first into a base that they are approaching for
the first time
• If they have already ran past the bag and are sliding back into a bag, a head first dive
is allowed.
18. Sportsmanship
• A score will be assigned after every game
• 4 point scale, 0-4
• Teams need a 2.75 average at the end of the
season to be eligible for playoffs
• Players, coaches, and fans can affect a teams
sportsmanship rating

• Game times may differ from those selected
via time preferences
• Teams will be seeded based on regular
season
