This document summarizes the design and lessons learned from an undergraduate chemistry course on nanomaterials for energy storage devices. The course had 8 students, weekly lectures and lab sections, and was evaluated based on lab reports (65%), presentations (20%), and a final exam (10%). Lessons learned include assigning different peer-review weights, setting clearer expectations, avoiding over-expecting student self-motivation, and exposing students to advanced instruments for motivation. Overall student feedback for the instructor and course experience was very positive at 4.8/5.
