Our compressed straw panels provide several advantages for buildings:
1) They protect occupants from external elements like heat, cold, rain, and noise while being highly resistant to storms and fire.
2) The manufacturing process has near zero greenhouse gas emissions and the panels are 100% recyclable and sustainable.
3) The panels allow for premium, eco-friendly housing that is cheaper and faster to build than alternatives, with lower lifetime costs due to energy savings.
In the last five years, the term green roof has taken on ecological and social significance beyond its seemingly simplistic description, this term has become an epithet for the reduction of pollution and improving urban environment, for large scale mitigation of storm water runoff, and for maximum utilization of urban land.
Erbil the capital city of Kurdistan region is facing a lot of environmental problems such as waste water treatment, water supply, land preservation, air and noise pollution due to the increasing number of cars, in addition, interestingly recent statistics suggested that the percentage of green areas in Erbil is approximately 6.5%, while according to international standards 30% of urban areas should be green.
Green roofs infrastructure on the other hand promises to become an increasingly important solution for building owners and community planners which provides a significant numbers of social, environmental and economic benefits that are both public and private nature.
Research problem is the ambiguity of green roofs implementation techniques in the region and the goal is initiated to determine the obstacle and challenges of green roofs implementations in Erbil city as case field by analyzing international experiences and concluding Erbil’s green roofs criteria.

Analysis of Upgradation of a Convectional Building into Green BuildingIJSRD
The phenomenon of global warming or climate change has led to many environmental issues including higher atmospheric temperatures, intensive precipitation, and increased Greenhouse gaseous emission and of course increased indoor discomfort condition. Researchers worldwide collectively agreed that one way of reducing the impact of global warming is by implementing Green Roof Technology which integrates vegetation, growing medium and water proofing membrane on top of the roof surface. This study emphasized to first analysis a convectional Building than upgrade it to a Green Building by the use of some Eco- Friendly materials. In addition to this by the use of some smart electrification work we can also conserve an ample amount of energy in a Convectional Building. Than by the use of different agencies which would provide checklist for Green Building we can rate a Convectional Building which is been upgraded into a Green Building..The objectives of this research were is Reduction in the indoor temperature of the room contributes reduction in energy consumption in the building. By the use of smart electrification an ample amount of energy can also be conserved. By the use of eco- friendly materials and waste products an ample amount of money can also be saved. Although by the up gradation of convectional building the initial cost will be high because of the use of some special material such as solar panel, rain water harvesting system but their application will return 10 times of what we invested
Exterior insulation works like a warm coat, wrapping a home's exterior walls and roof in thermally insulating materials to shield it from the elements.

Immunizing Image Classifiers Against Localized Adversary Attacksgerogepatton
This paper addresses the vulnerability of deep learning models, particularly convolutional neural networks
(CNN)s, to adversarial attacks and presents a proactive training technique designed to counter them. We
introduce a novel volumization algorithm, which transforms 2D images into 3D volumetric representations.
When combined with 3D convolution and deep curriculum learning optimization (CLO), itsignificantly improves
the immunity of models against localized universal attacks by up to 40%. We evaluate our proposed approach
using contemporary CNN architectures and the modified Canadian Institute for Advanced Research (CIFAR-10
and CIFAR-100) and ImageNet Large Scale Visual Recognition Challenge (ILSVRC12) datasets, showcasing
accuracy improvements over previous techniques. The results indicate that the combination of the volumetric
input and curriculum learning holds significant promise for mitigating adversarial attacks without necessitating
adversary training.

CFD Simulation of By-pass Flow in a HRSG module by R&R Consult.pptxR&R Consult
CFD analysis is incredibly effective at solving mysteries and improving the performance of complex systems!
Here's a great example: At a large natural gas-fired power plant, where they use waste heat to generate steam and energy, they were puzzled that their boiler wasn't producing as much steam as expected.
R&R and Tetra Engineering Group Inc. were asked to solve the issue with reduced steam production.
An inspection had shown that a significant amount of hot flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes, where the heat was supposed to be transferred.
R&R Consult conducted a CFD analysis, which revealed that 6.3% of the flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes without transferring heat. The analysis also showed that the flue gas was instead being directed along the sides of the boiler and between the modules that were supposed to capture the heat. This was the cause of the reduced performance.
Based on our results, Tetra Engineering installed covering plates to reduce the bypass flow. This improved the boiler's performance and increased electricity production.
It is always satisfying when we can help solve complex challenges like this. Do your systems also need a check-up or optimization? Give us a call!
Work done in cooperation with James Malloy and David Moelling from Tetra Engineering.

ADVANTAGES OF OUR «RAINBOW» PANELS
prefabricated, self-standing, bio-insulated, bio-ventilated, pre-decorated, certified, quality-controlled,
fast to produce and assemble, form a block,
building performance in terms of resistance and insulation, for a quality/price ratio unbeatable

DETAILLED STRATEGY 2014 ECS-3.COM/RAPHAEL PETIT 2
1. For POPULATION: final users, employees, citizens, policy makers...
For thousands of years, buildings are primarily intended to protect the occupants from external aggression and particularly the natural elements.
Thus, the primary purpose of a building is to protect its occupants from cold, heat, rain, snow, wind, sun, noise, earthquakes, and sometimes thieves
and other enemies.
Among the above assaults, some require high technical stresses. Enemies and thieves, for example, were discouraged by solid walls, heavy doors
and windows closed and protected by defences. The density of our wall, floor and roof panels is 140 kg/m3
. If you need to force a straw building, you
should forget about trying to force the walls and better take care about something else… you will save time.
Regarding climate aggression, the sun and its rays will be controlled by the architecture and the arrangement of openings and windows (mainly south
oriented, tissue shadings, advanced roof, shutters, outer vegetation...).
Bioclimatic design of buildings is a cheap and effective way to take advantages of the low sun during the winter and to protect itself from the intense
light of the summer. Our constructions, made of compressed straw panels of 45 cm thickness, are very comfortable in summer because they allow a
shift in phase of 18 hours of an external wave of heat in the day. The strong midday heat will therefore not have time to get inside since it will coincide
14 to 16 hours later with the cooler night.
Amortization of external temperatures, offered by the straw insulation, is an important way to maintain a proper and stable temperature
while it is very hot or very cold outside.
Our compressed straw panels are an insulator having a thermal conductivity less than 0,06 W/m²/kg for a density of 140 kg/m3
. This makes it by far
the insulator having the best quality/price ratio on the market in any country in the world. Moreover, straw buildings are known for their thermal and
acoustic comfort as well as for their low consumption of energy.
The facings (coatings, plates, cladding...), applied on each panel, protect the straw from shocks, elements such as rain and snow, and contribute to
the sealing of the building.
The story of the three little pigs had a worldwide success. So, straw or wood construction cannot be evoked without hearing a mischievous reference
to this fairy tale.
Unfortunately for the sceptics, straw buildings are highly resistant to storms, tornadoes and fire. Proof of this is that
many American or French buildings made of straw (without any wood structure) are still standing and inhabited after a
century of good and loyal services. One may also note that the results of the stress test, which complies with European
standards, are 5 times higher than the strength of the famous 1999 storm in France.

2. For the PLANET: ecosystems, animals, Humanity and future generations.
Our entire product has been the subject of a careful study and pushed to meet a goal: respect the environment.
Grey energy is near zero for the entire manufacturing process and assembly of each panel. Very low carbon emission, no toxic waste, no impact onto
the ground. Our product is “dry”: it is made with very little water while a concrete building of 100 m² requires about 10,000 L. Our panels are 100%
recyclable and sustainable.
Throughout the whole lifetime of our homes, only a small amount of energy is required for their use. The result is a low pollution.
Once at the end of life (which can easily exceed a hundred years), our buildings can be fully recycled. Indeed, the materials used in construction are
natural, their recycling is obviously easy and has been worked out in advance.
3. For the PROFIT: shareholders, investors, bankers, venture capitalists, entrepreneurs,
NGOs, local, regional and governmental financial programs.
3.1 A premium product:
- higher soundproofing
- excellent insulation, which allows to save on heating costs, and also allows to take advantage of an exceptional residential comfort
- ecological house, healthy and without mold
- no termites, no pests
- designed to withstand typhoons, cyclones and earthquakes (excellent mechanical and antiseismic performances)
- highly resistant to fire
- compliance with European standards (DTU CSTB, TUV, MINERGIE...)
- possibility of a long-term warranty on structural components manufactured in factories
- the structure of our mobile version is made of steel, a solid material, aesthetic, sustainable and recyclable.
It is used for its appearance and resistance to bad weather in the architecture and construction.

3.2 Time saving, higher quality, tax benefit
The final customer price is another advantage of this construction system. Our estimation of price per square meter is lower than 30% from the
market price for a better quality (ready to live with heating, fitted kitchen, rainwater recovery system). Everyone can achieve additional savings by
becoming self-builder and assembling the panels by himself on his website.
The construction time of a 100 m² building requires one month between ordering, delivery and assembly (very little work because the structure is
already realized).
The ease of implementation: our floor, walls and roof panels are already sealed: no need to add a structure up the roof in order to protect from the
rain. The foundations of such housing can be limited to metal, wood or concrete piles. All openings (doors, windows, ventilation) are already planned,
but others can be made in a simple manner thereafter.
Insulation: reduces the effects of the cold and hot air, moisture, salt water, thermal shock, dust... Our structure is airtight and waterproof, like any
passive building in which maximum tightness is desired in order to avoid energy losses from air infiltration.
Their strengths: our panels are designed to be transported and installed in extreme conditions (cold, scorching heat, on the water, in the trees,
resistant to strong winds, earthquakes...).
Modularity: our buildings are modular and mobile. We also have a mobile version of prefabricated panels mounted on an autonomous and self-
supporting steel structure. It's easy to add modules to make enlargements. If you decide to move, even after many years, you can “carry” your home
to your future site since this type of manufacture has been made for this purpose (transportable by truck). The assembly combinations are multiple, so
let’s be inspired!
To make even more profit, you can transform natural biomass waste of the production for heating the
manufacturing site and/or sell them for a local market.
