This 4-day training course teaches the skills needed to become an assessor, including how to conduct outcomes-based assessments, design assessment instruments, and contribute to the achievement of various qualifications. The course covers understanding outcomes-based education, legislation related to assessment, and how to perform fair, valid and reliable assessments. Individuals who complete the training will be prepared to conduct assessments in their fields of expertise and can continue on to moderation skills training without additional qualifications.

Those who complete this training will be able to conduct assessments within
their fields of expertise and contribute towards the achievement of a variety
of qualifications, particularly within the fields of Education Training and
Development Practices and Human Resource Development. To prepare our
learners to play a role of a fair, valid and reliable assessor we introduce them
to the legislation and show how to design outcomes based assessments.
This training is designed in such a way that a learner can grow and take
moderation skills training without completing any additional unit standards.
In particular, individuals credited with this unit standard will be able to:
