Forrest Riesco is a Canadian elite downhill mountain bike racer who placed 2nd in the 2013 Canada Cup series and 33rd at the World Cup in Mont Sainte Anne. He has been a two-time member of the Canadian National team, representing Canada at World Championships in 2012 and 2013. Riesco's goals for 2014 are to qualify for the National team again and place in the top 30 consistently at World Cup events.

I am a Canadian Elite Downhill Mountain Bike racer
from the Sunshine Coast, British Columbia. I compete
internationally at Canada Cup and World Cup events.
I enjoy every aspect of being an elite level athlete and
believe that working my way up through the ranks
independently has made me stronger and more
knowledgeable.
I am my own manager, mechanic and trainer. During
the winter I balance training and working to fund my
racing.
This season, I ranked 2nd overall in the Canada Cup
series and placed 33rd in my first World Cup finals at
Mont Sainte Anne. I have been a two-time National
team member, representing Canada at World
Championships 2012 in Austria as a Junior, and again
this season in South Africa as an Elite.
I am in constant pursuit of my goal to become a top
World Cup racer.

I will be aiming to qualify for the National team again in 2014 for
World Championships in Norway.
I intend to race the full World Cup series and Canada Cup
series, in addition to Crankworx and various other events. My
goals are to place top 30 consistently at World Cup events and
seek the top spot of the podium at National races.
Throughout the season I hope to gain more experience and
continue to progress as a racer.

Training
!
To be a consistent and strong racer I believe
there are many aspects of training that can be
done on and off the bike.
I train regularly at the local gym, concentrating
on injury prevention, strength and cardio. I am
very interested in the science, methods and
nutrition of my training. Applying the knowledge
I have gained from the many coaches and
trainers that I have worked with, such as James
Wilson and Mark Bunyan, I design and
implement a custom program to fit my specific
needs and goals.
