used to recognise and
assess people's skills
in a specific industry,
industry sector or
enterprise

Who makes Training
Packages?
 By Industry Skills Council on behalf of
industry
 Must consult extensively within the
industry or enterprise area.
 Go through quality assurance process
then endorsed by the National Skills
Standard Council and placed on
training.gov.au for use.
Coding System
 Training Packages, Qualifications and
Units of Competency have national
codes that identify the industry area, the
version and the year of endorsement.

 Why is this important? This is how you will search for
Qualifications and Units of Competency on which to base your
training program. You can also readily identify where a
document is current or a previous version and therefore out of
date.
