2. Mind Maps/Brainstorms
Star by using the first few slides to create mind
maps and or brainstorms for ideas related to
your project. Get as many possibilities as you
can.
Don’t worry about practicality, suitability or
potential at this stage. You will assess the ideas
later.

3. York video/collage creation
One idea I have is to create an app for people to use, the app will send you to different
locations around York, upon arrival you will have to take pictures and or short videos of the
location, there will be multiple stages/levels and for proof of stage completion you can
upload your video or photo for proof. After someone completes a stage the next stage will
be unlocked, after completing all of the stages you can then use all of the photos or videos
to create a collage or short music video to a song of your choice, this will present/display
York in a very artistic way that my target audience will enjoy. I could also make it so that you
can display your final piece of work on social media through a share option on the app, this
way people can show off their work and also expose York as an artistic and cultural city to a
wider audience. To actually display this product to people I will create either a video
advertisement or a collection of promotional posters showcasing the product.

4. York location hunt
• Another idea I have is to create another app, but this time people will be giving
different clues and hints, they will have to use these hints to try and find a
specific location, after finding a location they will be able to scan a QR code to
complete that level, after completing a level the next stage will be unlocked and
a historical/cultural fact about that levels location will be displayed on screen, all
of the facts you collect will be stored as a collection in the app, by the end, after
completing all of the stages the people participating will have travelled all
through York and will have experienced some of the city's most iconic and
famous attractions. People will have to combine intelligences with others in
order to solve the riddles to find the locations. The historical aspect of this
activity and the fact that it’s a social event that requires combined efforts all
come together to form a product that almost completely appeals to my target
audience.

5. Idea Evaluation
Which of your ideas do you want to develop further? Explain why you think that is
the right idea to take forward. – I have decided to develop the video/collage creation
idea further. I have chosen this because it completely appeals to my target audience in
every way, it conforms to all of their personality traits, interests and passions. It
includes the historical context of York as one of its main aspects, this will interest my
target audience as I have established that they like historical and cultural items,
locations and events. I have also made clear that my target audience enjoy creating
things and function in an artistic and creative way, which is the whole point of this
product, to create. They are also social people who enjoy working with others
(something that is heavily encouraged with this task). Music is rated the second most
popular hobby amongst 18-24 year olds so giving them a chance to create their own
musical product is an attracting factor for them also. This product provides my target
audience with a platform to fully express themselves in every way and realise their
creative side on a much deeper level than before.

6. Development
• Development should include mood boards or other visual
examples of work. It could include basic mock ups of your
vision for the project using the work of others.
• These don’t need to be the same quality as your finished
pieces but they a good indicator of where your project is
going.
• As this is not final work, it may include work from others.
• You could include test work or practice work here too to
further develop your skills.

10. Assessment of final ideas
Suitability for audience:. Do you think your audience will engage with your ideas? I do
think my audience will engage with my ideas as I have crafted the product in mind of my
audiences every interest, passions, hobbies etc, this way the product is sure to excite
and entice them.
Suitability for client: Does your idea fulfil the brief your client gave you? Yes I believe so,
the briefs main request was to create something to draw your target audience into York
and as I said I have completely appealed to my audiences characteristics, a product that
does that will definitively grab their attention.
Timescales: Is your project practical and manageable in the time you have? Yes I have
created a time slot PowerPoint for me to follow, I have allocated specific time slots for
specific pieces of work so that I don’t accidentally spend too much or too little time on a
certain aspect of my product.

11. Production Schedule:
You should prepare a production schedule that will allow you to manage your time over
the 4 weeks of production. This should include:
• Deadlines: Interim deadlines help you keep on track, final deadlines are final.
• Availability: The availability of the client and any other people you may need to help
you with your project. You will need to contact them. You might to do visit. You may
need to liaise with models, or photographers.
• Feedback: This is a working brief with a real client. You will need to get feedback on
your work and also allow yourself time to make appropriate changes. Plan appropriate
time in to you schedule so that you can do this.
• Resources: You should include a list of resources that you will need to complete your
project. Remember that this all needs to be your own work
