All of the products I researched all have the main character as the main focus on the
cover and all have horror elements to them also all of the comic strips are in black and
white
• What aspects of the research will you include
within your on work?
I will include the same style for the cover having the main character be the main
focus of the cover for the first issue. I will also include horror elements.

• How will your product appeal to this audience: I will spend most of my time on
the story as that’s what appeals to most people then I would also spend a good amount of time making an art
style because a lot of people say that’s important so then I can appeal to a wider audience.
Interviews
Interview 1
• If you read graphic novels why do you like
them?
What I like about a graphic novel is the good
images that make you understand the story and
also the story line that has to obviously make
sense.
Interview 1
• Observation: my audience likes graphic novels because they find using
pictures easier to understand.
• What this says about my audience: it says my audience
prefers more pictures over writing.
• How will your product appeal to this
audience: I will try to tell my story with more visual queues instead of
using mainly text.
Interview 2
• If you read graphic novels why do you like
them?
I like reading graphic novels because I like the
illustrations of the pictures and prefer it more than
reading a book because the pictures explain the story
more. I like the art styles of the comics because it
makes the story more enjoyable and interesting to look
at and read.

Research Evaluation
Research Evaluation
• Give an overview of how you conducted your research. Discuss the
strengths and weaknesses of each method
– Product Research
• For product research I got type of horror graphic novels that I liked and thought would fit
the theme of what I'm going to create. The strengths of using this method is that you can
get a good idea of what other professional products are like. The weakness of this of this
method is that sometimes I was stuck with what I could analyse.
– Questionnaires
• For questionnaires I used survey monkey to make my survey and then I passed it out to
people in my class via email and I also gave it to some other people who I knew read
graphic novels. The strengths of this method are that it’s a good way to get information
from a lot of people and it helps you know what you should include to fit your target
audience. The weakness is that it can be limited to the people who you can send it to
also it might not always help as some people give stupid reply which don’t help at all.
– Interviews
for interviews I asked people in my class to answer a question to help me with
what I needed to know the strengths of this method is that people usually give helpful
answers to what you need. The weakness is that it can be limited by the people you
can ask and it doesn’t go to a wider audience its just one person.
Research Evaluation
– What sort of a response did you get?
For my survey I mostly got a good response as most of my replies were helpful
apart from a few joke replies which didn’t help at all.
– How did you distribute your survey? Give an advantage and a disadvantage
I distributed my survey with email which is an okay way to send it as I can send it
to my whole class to give me responses but not everyone in my class reads
graphic novels so they cant give the best response. I also sent it through text to
some friends which I knew reads graphic novels a lot which helped because I
then got responses from my target audience.

  • 24. Research Evaluation • Give an overview of how you conducted your research. Discuss the strengths and weaknesses of each method – Product Research • For product research I got type of horror graphic novels that I liked and thought would fit the theme of what I'm going to create. The strengths of using this method is that you can get a good idea of what other professional products are like. The weakness of this of this method is that sometimes I was stuck with what I could analyse. – Questionnaires • For questionnaires I used survey monkey to make my survey and then I passed it out to people in my class via email and I also gave it to some other people who I knew read graphic novels. The strengths of this method are that it’s a good way to get information from a lot of people and it helps you know what you should include to fit your target audience. The weakness is that it can be limited to the people who you can send it to also it might not always help as some people give stupid reply which don’t help at all. – Interviews for interviews I asked people in my class to answer a question to help me with what I needed to know the strengths of this method is that people usually give helpful answers to what you need. The weakness is that it can be limited by the people you can ask and it doesn’t go to a wider audience its just one person.
  • 25. Research Evaluation – What sort of a response did you get? For my survey I mostly got a good response as most of my replies were helpful apart from a few joke replies which didn’t help at all. – How did you distribute your survey? Give an advantage and a disadvantage I distributed my survey with email which is an okay way to send it as I can send it to my whole class to give me responses but not everyone in my class reads graphic novels so they cant give the best response. I also sent it through text to some friends which I knew reads graphic novels a lot which helped because I then got responses from my target audience.
