3. Type 1 Diabetes
Genetic predisposition may cause Type 1
diabetes. It often begins in childhood and is
also called as insulin-dependent diabetes. In
type 1 diabetes, the pancreas gets damaged
and does not make insulin, which results in
increased sugar level in blood. Many
medical risks are associated with type 1
diabetes including heart diseases and
stroke.

4. Treatment for Type 1 Diabetes
The treatment for type 1 diabetes includes
taking insulin, which is injected in the body
through a syringe. The patient should also
make significant lifestyle changes such as
exercising daily and following the right diet
plan to control this disease.

5. Type 2 Diabetes
Type 2 diabetes, also called as adult-onset
diabetes, is the result of pancreas not
producing enough insulin, resulting in
increased blood sugar. However, it is non-
insulin dependent. The main causes of type
2 diabetes are unhealthy lifestyle and
obesity.

6. Treatment for Type 2 Diabetes
There are no cures but diabetes can be
prevented naturally in India. One of the
prime reasons for type 2 diabetes is obesity
and hence, it can be controlled by
controlling and losing body weight; the
patient can control body weight through
exercise. However, medication is also
required to keep the condition in control.
