15. Reflections on the 2Reflections on the 2ndnd
readingreading
The second reading contains many suggestions on how we
should prepare ourselves for the coming of the Lord.
The word “love” is the key to prepare.
– Not just the usual “love”, but increased (expanded), more
encompassing, more embracing, more universal, egalitarian love,
not choosy and picky love;
– It is an apostolic love, like that of Paul and companions.
Another way to prepare is to be blameless.
– Reflect more on what it means to be “blameless in holiness.” It is
the avoidance of sin.
We may look holy, but deep within, we are full of “holes”
(full of malice, suspicion, greed, hatred, etc.); people
accuse us of slandering and cheating them, etc.
Are you capable of showing extraordinary love?
