REEF is a modular and scalable closed loop system that vertically integrates renewable energy production and efficient controlled environment agriculture on multiple levels. It uses a combination of food crops and recycles all waste, nutrients, carbon dioxide, oxygen, and water in a self-sustaining manner. REEF aims to maximize photosynthesis using LED lights and microalgae to produce healthy food and renewable energy while achieving 50 times greater crop yields than conventional farming with 85-95% less water and 75-85% less land.
