1. SQL Database Developer
An SQL / VBA Developer is required to join the IT / cataloguing department for a
major manufacturer and supplier of automotive parts and components. Excellent
future promotional prospects within a professional and forward thinking market
leader.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for the on-going development and
maintenance of software tools.
Manipulation of catalogue and sales data in SQL and Access VBA, to produce catalogue
files in a publishable format.
Create CD-based Technical Information application to replace a legacy system used by
customers.
The application data will be kept current by updates from the catalogue and sales data
via the internet.
Create MI tools to analyse and report on sales data. This will involve querying the SAP
systems via VBA, enabling the monitoring of sales performance by part number to
establish trends.
The requirements for data output and analysis are constantly evolving due to
expansion within the business, providing wide and varied projects.
The Candidate

The ideal candidate will have solid experience of managing an SQL Server database.
Highly proficient with SQL development and Access VBA.
High level of proficiency in data manipulation.
Experience in the full software development lifecycle from systems analysis through
development to roll-out.
Experience of web development and deployment.
Knowledge of using TecDoc and SAP would be a distinct advantage, however training
in these areas would be provided.
Highly motivated and enthusiastic, with strong communication skills essential to
ascertain end-user requirements and present progress at regular meetings.
