2. SC Directs SBI To Make Complete Disclosure Of Electoral Bond
Details By Thursday
The Supreme Court directed the State Bank of India to
make a complete disclosure of all details related to
electoral bonds by Thursday.
The apex court said the details to be disclosed include the
unique bond numbers that would reveal the link between
the buyers and the recipient political parties.
A five-judge constitution bench headed by Chief Justice
DY Chandrachud directed the SBI chairman to file an
affidavit before it by 5 PM on 21st of March indicating that
bank has disclosed all details.

3. President Droupadi Murmu has asked Civil Services officers
to make use of the latest technologies such as Artificial
Intelligence, blockchain and big data analytics for an
efficient and smart administration.
She said, convergence of new ideas and new technologies
with rich and varied experiences can bring such impactful
changes that one cannot even imagine. President Murmu
was addressing the State civil services officers at Rashtrapati
Bhavan today.
The officers are attending the 125th Induction Training
Programme at Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of
Administration, LBSNAA, Musoorie.

4. Renowned Poet Prabha Varma Selected For
Saraswati Samman For The Year 2023
Renowned poet Prabha Varma has been selected for the
Saraswati Samman for the year 2023 for his work in
Malayalam language.
He has been considered for this award for his Malayalam
language poetry work, Roudra Sathwikam and also for his
contribution to the literature during the period 2013 to
2022.
The honour carries, apart from a citation, a plaque and an
award money of fifteen lakh rupees.
Roudra Sathwikam is a poetic work of Prabha Varma in
Malyalam language which was published in 2022.
The novel in poetic verse probes the conflict between
power and politics, individual and state, art and power in a
unique manner.

5. 10th Edition Of Joint Military Exercise Between Indian Army And
Seychelles Defence Forces Commences
The Tenth Edition of Joint Military Exercise ‘LAMITIYE’, between
Indian Army & Seychelles Defence Forces, commenced at
Seychelles Defence Academy on Monday.
The biennial Joint Exercise is being conducted at Seychelles from 18
to 27 March.
The Exercise aims to achieve cohesion, jointness and
interoperability between both the Defence Forces during Peace
Keeping Operations.
The 10-day-long Joint Exercise will include Field Training, combat
discussions, lectures and demonstrations, concluding with two days
of Validation Exercise.

6. EC Removes Home Secretaries In 6 States, West Bengal DGP
Ahead Of Lok Sabha Elections
Ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, the Election Commission on
Monday removed the Home Secretaries in six states and West
Bengal Director General of Police.
Sources said that the Home Secretaries have been removed in
Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Himachal Pradesh and
Uttarakhand.
The Secretaries of the General Administrative Department in
Mizoram and Himachal Pradesh have also been shifted.
Besides, the Poll Body has ordered the removal of
Brihanmumbai Municipal Commissioner Iqbal Singh Chahal as
well as Additional Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners.

8. Third meeting of the India-Maldives High-Level Core Group was held in
Male yesterday, where the two sides reviewed the ongoing deputation of
Indian technical personnel to enable continued operation of Indian aviation
platforms that provide humanitarian services to people of Maldives.
In an official release, the Ministry of External Affairs said, during the
meeting, both sides continued their discussions on wide-ranging issues
related to bilateral cooperation.
The discussions focussed on efforts to boost bilateral trade and investment
and enhance people-to-people linkages between India and Maldives.
Notably, the first batch of Indian personnel in the Maldives has been
replaced by technical personnel, the Ministry of External Affairs said on
Friday.
It was agreed to hold the next meeting of the High-Level Core Group in
New Delhi on a mutually convenient date.

9. Afghanistan has alleged that Pakistani strikes on its territory have killed
at least eight people.
Pakistan launched overnight air attacks inside Afghanistan in the early
hours on Monday.
The strikes come after seven Pakistani troops were killed in an attack in
North Waziristan region of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Saturday.
According to media reports, tensions flared on Monday between
Islamabad and Kabul following the overnight raids.
Pakistan has admitted carrying out “intelligence-based anti-terrorist
operations” in Afghanistan.
Pakistan said the attack had targeted armed groups hiding out in
border regions.

10. Russian President Vladimir Putin has clinched a historic fifth term, securing a
landslide victory in the presidential polls. Mr. Putin hailed his preordained
electoral victory as a sign of the country’s trust and hope in him.
He claimed another six-year term by getting 87 per cent of the vote with 80
per cent of the precincts counted. Election officials said, other candidates
languished below 5 per cent.
Communist candidate Nikolai Kharitonov finished second and newcomer
Vladislav Davankov third.
This victory has solidified Mr. Putin’s position as Russia’s longest-serving
leader, surpassing Josef Stalin.
Mr Putin told supporters in a victory speech in Moscow that he would
prioritise resolving tasks associated with what he called Russia’s military
operation in Ukraine and would strengthen the Russian military.

11. European Union Announces USD 8
Billion Package Of Aid For Egypt
The European Union announced a 8-billion dollar aid package for cash-
strapped Egypt as concerns mount that economic pressure and
conflicts in neighboring countries could drive more migrants to
European shores.
The deal, was signed yesterday in Cairo by Egyptian President Abdel
Fattah el-Sissi and European Commission President Ursula von der
Leyen. The ceremony was attended by leaders of Belgium, Italy, Austria,
Cyprus and Greece.
el-Sissi told visiting European leaders that your visit represented a very
important milestone in the relations between Egypt and the European
Union. He said the deal has achieved a “paradigm shift in our
partnership.
The aid package includes both grants and loans over the next three
years for the Arab world’s most populous country.
According to the EU’s mission in Cairo, most of the funds 5.4 billion
dollars are macro-financial assistance.

Capitals By 8 Wickets To Lift Women’s
Premier League Title
In the Final of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) Cricket, Royal
Challengers Bangalore (RCB) beat Delhi Capitals by 8 wickets at Arun
Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi last night.
Chasing a target of 114 runs set by Delhi Capitals, RCB scored 115 for 2
in 19.3 overs. For RCB, Ellyse Perry was the highest scorer with 35 runs
followed by Sophie Devine with 32 and Smriti Mandhana 31 runs.
Earlier, deciding to bat first, Delhi Capitals were all out for 113 runs in
18.3 overs. For Delhi Capitals, Shafali Verma was the top scorer with 44
runs.
For RCB, Shreyanka Patil picked up 4 wickets, Sophie Molineux 3 and
Sobana Asha took 2 wickets. Sophie Molineux was declared Player of
the Match.
