The Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) has served since 1959 as a neutral platform for sustainable development through global collaboration in education, science, technology, and social entrepreneurship. AIT started as a teaching university but evolved into a research university with industrial partnerships by 2000. AIT faces the challenges of strengthening collaborations with industries for innovative technology and economic gains, and with academic and NGO partners on cross-border issues. AIT is well-suited to address regional and cross-border problems through its international perspective, regional focus, multidisciplinary approach, and flexibility.
