RCM
IS LIKE
A DIET
Doing Reliability Centered
Maintenance (RCM) helps us
take care of our equipment.
And taking care of our
equipment is very much like
taking care of ourselves.
2/8
If someone is overweight and
out of shape but wants to get
healthy, the answer is simple
(but not easy).
Commitment to proper diet and
exercise is required. But most
people won't commit.
3/8
We live a fast-paced world with
smart phones and advancing
technology. We're used to
getting results fast.
But that's not how it goes for our
health and the health of our
equipment.
4/8
It takes will and discipline to be
a healthy human.
And it takes will and discipline to
successfully apply RCM.
5/8
Just as there is no "magic pill" for
good health, there is no "silver
bullet" for Reliability.
That's why most organizations
don't commit to applying RCM
consistently.
6/8
Stop looking for Reliability's
"silver bullet." It doesn't exist.
Take the time to proactively
identify plausible Failure Modes
and then figure out how to
manage each one. That's RCM.
7/8
Reliability Centered
Maintenance (RCM) is a gift.
When RCM is applied with the
right people, it can transform an
organization. I've seen it first-
hand.
