Hialeah Gardens High School's 10th Grade Reading Focus Calendar for 2010-2011 outlines the reading benchmarks and assessments that will take place throughout the school year. It includes interim assessment tests at the beginning, middle, and end of year to monitor student progress. Throughout the year, students will be assessed on their ability to analyze texts, understand vocabulary in context, compare and contrast elements in texts, and synthesize information from multiple sources. Professional development for teachers is also provided to support reading instruction and the administration of assessments like FAIR and FCAT.
