Network Identification via Node Knock-outMarzieh Nabi
We present the problem of identifying
the interaction geometry among a known number of agents, adopting a (weighted) consensus-type algorithm for their coordination. Inspired by
how biologists use gene knockouts for experimentally identifying genetic interaction networks in cellular organisms, we propose a node-knockout
procedure for the complete characterization of the interaction geometry
in consensus-type networks. In our context, the node knockout is essentially
a grounding procedure- where the node broadcasts a zero state to
its neighbors without being removed from the network. The proposed
centralized identification process is also facilitated by introducing “ports”
for stimulating a subset of network vertices via an appropriately defined
interface and observing the network’s response at another set of vertices.
We then provide an example for the utility of such a network identification
process in the context of fault detection for networked systems.

Diabetes is a metabolic disease, with characteristics that include glucose problems. Typically the body produces too much blood sugar, commonly called glucose.
In a healthy body, glucose is controlled by naturally produced insulin, adjusting as necessary to the consumption of or absence of food. Insulin is a hormone which is produced by the pancreas.
In patients with diabetes, insulin is not produced or is insufficiently produced causing hyperglycemia.

New Directions in Targeted Therapeutic Approaches for Older Adults With Mantl...i3 Health
i3 Health is pleased to make the speaker slides from this activity available for use as a non-accredited self-study or teaching resource.
This slide deck presented by Dr. Kami Maddocks, Professor-Clinical in the Division of Hematology and
Associate Division Director for Ambulatory Operations
The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center, will provide insight into new directions in targeted therapeutic approaches for older adults with mantle cell lymphoma.
STATEMENT OF NEED
Mantle cell lymphoma (MCL) is a rare, aggressive B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) accounting for 5% to 7% of all lymphomas. Its prognosis ranges from indolent disease that does not require treatment for years to very aggressive disease, which is associated with poor survival (Silkenstedt et al, 2021). Typically, MCL is diagnosed at advanced stage and in older patients who cannot tolerate intensive therapy (NCCN, 2022). Although recent advances have slightly increased remission rates, recurrence and relapse remain very common, leading to a median overall survival between 3 and 6 years (LLS, 2021). Though there are several effective options, progress is still needed towards establishing an accepted frontline approach for MCL (Castellino et al, 2022). Treatment selection and management of MCL are complicated by the heterogeneity of prognosis, advanced age and comorbidities of patients, and lack of an established standard approach for treatment, making it vital that clinicians be familiar with the latest research and advances in this area. In this activity chaired by Michael Wang, MD, Professor in the Department of Lymphoma & Myeloma at MD Anderson Cancer Center, expert faculty will discuss prognostic factors informing treatment, the promising results of recent trials in new therapeutic approaches, and the implications of treatment resistance in therapeutic selection for MCL.
Target Audience
Hematology/oncology fellows, attending faculty, and other health care professionals involved in the treatment of patients with mantle cell lymphoma (MCL).
Learning Objectives
1.) Identify clinical and biological prognostic factors that can guide treatment decision making for older adults with MCL
2.) Evaluate emerging data on targeted therapeutic approaches for treatment-naive and relapsed/refractory MCL and their applicability to older adults
3.) Assess mechanisms of resistance to targeted therapies for MCL and their implications for treatment selection

The prostate is an exocrine gland of the male mammalian reproductive system
It is a walnut-sized gland that forms part of the male reproductive system and is located in front of the rectum and just below the urinary bladder
Function is to store and secrete a clear, slightly alkaline fluid that constitutes 10-30% of the volume of the seminal fluid that along with the spermatozoa, constitutes semen
A healthy human prostate measures (4cm-vertical, by 3cm-horizontal, 2cm ant-post ).
It surrounds the urethra just below the urinary bladder. It has anterior, median, posterior and two lateral lobes
It’s work is regulated by androgens which are responsible for male sex characteristics
Generalised disease of the prostate due to hormonal derangement which leads to non malignant enlargement of the gland (increase in the number of epithelial cells and stromal tissue)to cause compression of the urethra leading to symptoms (LUTS

Ethanol (CH3CH2OH), or beverage alcohol, is a two-carbon alcohol
that is rapidly distributed in the body and brain. Ethanol alters many
neurochemical systems and has rewarding and addictive properties. It
is the oldest recreational drug and likely contributes to more morbidity,
mortality, and public health costs than all illicit drugs combined. The
5th edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders
(DSM-5) integrates alcohol abuse and alcohol dependence into a single
disorder called alcohol use disorder (AUD), with mild, moderate,
and severe subclassifications (American Psychiatric Association, 2013).
In the DSM-5, all types of substance abuse and dependence have been
combined into a single substance use disorder (SUD) on a continuum
from mild to severe. A diagnosis of AUD requires that at least two of
the 11 DSM-5 behaviors be present within a 12-month period (mild
AUD: 2–3 criteria; moderate AUD: 4–5 criteria; severe AUD: 6–11 criteria).
The four main behavioral effects of AUD are impaired control over
drinking, negative social consequences, risky use, and altered physiological
effects (tolerance, withdrawal). This chapter presents an overview
of the prevalence and harmful consequences of AUD in the U.S.,
the systemic nature of the disease, neurocircuitry and stages of AUD,
comorbidities, fetal alcohol spectrum disorders, genetic risk factors, and
pharmacotherapies for AUD.

1. 10 Tips for a Healthy Heart
You just have one life, live it to the fullest !
2. 10 Tips for a Healthy Heart
There are many steps people can take to try to prevent
heart disease. You can start by concentrating on key
lifestyle areas such as eating, exercise,
smoking and drinking
Here are 10 top tips for a healthy heart
www.nutriconsult.in
3. 1 Stop Smoking
Giving up smoking is the single most important thing a
person can do to live longer. If you are a smoker, you are
twice as likely to have a heart attack than a non-
smoker.
With public smoking bans recently introduced, there has never
been a better time to give up smoking
www.nutriconsult.in
4. 2 Cut Down on Salts
Too much salt can cause high blood pressure, which increases
the risk of developing coronary heart disease. Avoid
foods like crisps, salted nuts, canned and packet soups and sauces,
pizzas.
www.nutriconsult.in
5. 3 Watch your Diet
A healthy diet can help to reduce the risk of developing
heart disease, and can also help increase the chances
of survival after a heart attack. You should try to have a
balanced diet, containing plenty of fresh fruit and
vegetables, fish, starchy foods such as wholegrain
bread, pasta and rice.
Avoid foods like biscuits, cakes, pastries and dairy
products that are high in saturated fats and
sugar
www.nutriconsult.in
6. 4 Monitor your Alcohol
Too much alcohol can damage the heart muscle, increase
blood pressure and also lead to weight gain. Binge
drinking will increase your risk of having a heart attack, so
you should aim to limit your intake.
www.nutriconsult.in
7. 5 Get Active
The heart is amuscle and it needs exercise to keep fit so
that it can pump blood efficiently round your body with each
30 minutes of
heart beat. You should aim for
moderate intensity exercise a day. If this seems too
daunting, start off gently and build up gradually.
Keeping fit not only benefits your physical health - it improves
your mental health and wellbeing too
www.nutriconsult.in
8. 6 Manage your Weight
The number of people who are overweight is rising fast -
already more than half of the adult population is overweight or
obese. Carrying a lot of extra weight can greatly affect your
health and increases the risk of life-threatening conditions such
as coronary heart disease and diabetes.
If you are overweight or obese, start by making small, but
healthy changes to what you eat, and try to become more active
www.nutriconsult.in
9. 7 Check your Blood and Cholesterol levels
The higher your blood pressure , the shorter your life
expectancy. People with high blood pressure run a higher risk of
having a stroke or a heart attack. High levels of cholesterol in the
blood - produced by the liver from saturated fats - can lead to
fatty deposits in your coronary arteries that increase your risk of
coronary heart disease.
You can help lower your cholesterol level by
exercising and eating high-fibre foods such as porridge, beans,
pulses, lentils, nuts, fruits and vegetables
www.nutriconsult.in
10. 8 Manage your Stress Levels
Stress is one of the prime factors for coronary heart disease.
It is not visible, but can cause more damage than
several of the other factors put together.
Take it easy, you have only one life.. Make the most of it
www.nutriconsult.in
11. 9 Check your Family History
close relative
If a has developed coronary heart
disease, blood pressure, diabetes in the past, then you could be
at risk too
www.nutriconsult.in
12. 10 Recognize early signs of coronary heart disease
Tightness or discomfort in the chest, neck, arm or stomach
which comes on when you exert yourself but goes away with
rest may be the first sign of angina, which can lead
to a heart attack if left untreated.
Do not ignore messages that your body is giving you
