In celebrating the 4th
year anniversary last June 19, 2014 of Lambigit, the pioneering group of
young professionals which organized the Centrist Democratic Movement Federation of the Philippines
and the Centrists Democratic Party of the Philippines in Northern Mindanao, allow me to share these 10
things about our party in the Region:
1. We are growing strong as a political party in the region following our unique tradition of
deep commitment and excellence being the first organized Regional Assembly in the entire country. In
fact, I am proud to say that every quarter our party is convening the Regional Assembly based on
proportional representations of the exact number of members in every District in the Region and the
members of the Regional Assembly are voted by their own respective District Assembly. This is the way
we actualized democracy and republicanism in our party.
2. We believe that in good governance, internal democracy is protected. This is shown in the
regular monthly meetings of the duly elected Regional Council Officers of Northern Mindanao, and all
officers duly received notices and have attended the meetings. We clearly understand the necessity of
these meetings, and this is being performed with sincerity by our Regional Chair as the one managing
the party, the Secretary who keeps the funds and the resources, while the Treasurer collects and the
Auditor evaluates how the funds of the members are being utilized. The other officers not mentioned
here are also notified and attended all the meetings called by our Regional Chair.
3. As a membership based political party, we adhere to our vision to be an institutionalized
party in the region. Members are really paying their dues pursuant to the party statute which is not less
than P500.00. Members who are just paying P100 are not allowed to vote nor attend to our meetings
but we welcome their alliances in all our activities.
4. The membership database is sacred to us because it is an essential element to our being a
membership based political party. Transparency, which we hold dear, dictates that we have to keep and
monitor our database. And as far as I know of our recent database that all our members from the
District up to the Region are real members who are paying not less than P500.00 regularly. This is sacred
to us because the strength of our party is dependent on the dues paying real members and we abhor a
“dead party” of “ghost members.”
5. We continued our Padugo where those who want to listen to us during our Basic
Orientation Seminars must pay and if they want to join they must pay also to ensure that they have an
important stake in our party. Every member owns the party because they pay. We will fight to death the
old practice of our country’s political system where people are hauled and paid P250.00 just to listen to

politicians talking, give P100 to be a member and then are paid to vote during party conventions. This is
patronage of the highest order and the mother of all corruption in the Philippines. We may be small
today but we can defeat this Goliath that is destroying our nation.
6. Internal democracy is alive in our party. Members are free to exercise their views without
being ostracized. Clash of ideas in order to come up with a perfect idea is the lifeblood of our political
party because we believe that diverse ideas are the beginnings of perfect political principles and
ideologies which in turn will become our platform of government. When in power can transform such
into government laws and programs. In our Region, freedom of expression is necessary and
indispensable. I am proud to say that this is very alive in our Region.
7. Due process, a landmark of any democratic society, is alive and strong in CDP Northern
Mindanao. Decisions are rendered by notifying erring members or Districts and giving them the
opportunity to be heard. The giver of human dignity, one who is greater than us, God, is exemplified by
our Region because His omnipotence respects Due Process. We, mere mortals, seriously are following
this eminent right. I am proud to say that rendering decisions against a person or against a District in our
Region follows Due Process.
8. Political activity is central in our party activities in CDP Northern Mindanao. During
elections we initiated conventions and debates to ensure that our members and the public will have
better alternatives in selecting the best candidates. We will change the rules of the game in our country
where political parties of the patron are buying candidates, selling party nominations and compelling
candidates to pay P100,000 or more for them to get the support of an imaginary figure. We abhor the
practice and we will fight to end this corruption of our electoral democracy. I am proud to say that our
party is gaining integrity in the region as the only group serious of ending such evil practice.
9. We are the most transparent organization or political party in the Region. Everyone who
becomes a member is given official receipts and such is recorded in our book of accounts. Every month
our Regional Council posted in our facebook group and emailed every member copies of the financial
report. Hence, we know where our funds are going and such disbursement is authorized. This is the area
that I am very proud of our party and to our able Regional Chairperson for leading our party in coming
up with a transparent governance.
10. Subsidiarity is the strong foundation of our core value on human dignity because it is more
than empowering a person. Members are given the opportunity to decide how we are going to run our
party. Funds are transmitted from one party body to another through bank transactions not giving it
personally to officers or should be passed through bureaucratic process that promotes patronage and
corruption. All our queries and complaints are answered well by our national and regional party officers
without delay. All our officers are responsive to all our concerns and sensitive to the needs of their
members. I can shout to the whole world that my party is the only party in the country that the principle
of subsidiarity is faithfully realized.
