before marriage with 53% as compared to the 33% of women who had
arranged marriages.
•Also, a greater percentage of women who had love marriages
continue to work after marriage (42%) compared to only 21% of
women who had arranged marriages.

•While 48% mentioned that they would have children in
future.

•While 46% females mentioned that they would have children

3. Love v/s Arrange
•Couples that have had a love marriage feel that the optimum number
of children that a couple should have is one (49%),
•where as couples that have had an arranged marriage feel two is
optimal (62%).
• India is a male dominated society with majority
of finances provided by the men even greater
no of Indian women pursuing higher education.
• Finance of household are shared between a
husband & wife.
• 63% of the couples are dependent on their
husband for porviding of their income.
• House ownership in the name of female having
5% & male having ownership of 29%.
• Through survey find out happy marriage respondents
regarding involvement in a Gym/Yoga/Fitness activity
regularly before marriage.
• 35% men &14% women said they exercised regularly
before marriage compared 19% & 11% respectively after
marriage.
• While 69% of women said they went to beauty parlour
regularly before marriage .
This suggests that “women are taking
greater care of themselves to look good
after marriage as compared to the men”
• Indian weddings are probably the greatest of
expenses.
• Gift exchange as part wedding.
• Gift exchange commonly observed for people
that arranged marriage & love marriage.
• Indian marriage are deeply rooted on strong family
ties.
• A third of respondents (32%) actually stay with their in
laws.
• The male ego that will usually not take the
responsibility entirely.
• Love marriage have very high expectation & arranged
marriages could set their expectation lower.
