Editor's Notes

  1. Icebreaker: Be aware of putting people outside their comfort zones.
  2. Red arrow indicates the cycle starts again
  3. Call out answers to flip, or in small groups – what do we mean by communication?
  4. This is what we think happens...
  5. Not all information gets through. Can look at communication as an attempt to pass information from the sender to the receiver – but with obstacles. Why? What stops the information getting through? Group work.
  6. Why? How we communicate is just as important as what we communicate. It will actually affect what we communicate. We’ll look at some of these during this course.
  7. Example about miscommunication In groups identify what happens when it doesn’t work properly. Think of examples. Feedback to group. To make sure it does happen properly – covered in the rest of the course.
