Playable Characters
The only playable character on this
game is the main character Link. This is
the character you play as throughout
he whole game as you don’t change
characters at all. He is the only
playable character but there are lots of
non playable characters (NPC’s) within
this game as well which you can
interact with.
NPC’s
Within the Zelda franchise there are
a lot of NPC’s, They include the
princess Zelda, who is often an
interactive character that the player
has to save within the game. There
are also multiple enemies that you
have to get past and defeat within
the game. There are a lot more
NPC’s than playable characters in
this game.

Perspectives
Zelda is a Third person game with 3D graphics. It is also
context sensitive such as when you fire a bow it
changes perspectives from 3rd person to 1st person.

Game Audio
This game has a lot of sound effects for things such as achievements and collecting
things throughout the game. Such as things like apples and new things such as new
bows. It also has fighting sound effects when you are fighting enemies there are a lot
of sound effects. All the sound effects included within the game gives it more depth
with things such as splashes when jumping into water and adds to the game play. I like
the idea of having lots of sound effects within a game as I think it adds to the game
personally and makes the experience of playing it a lot more in depth and enjoyable.
Also sound effects help with getting the player more in the zone with the game which
makes them want to play it a lot more. Another thing in this game is when a enemy is
approaching there are sound effects which make it clear what is happening in the
game and means you can tell what you need to do in the game just based on sound
effects.
Game Genre
There are a few similar games out there in the industry like Zelda For example this one
called Horizon Zero Dawn. The general idea of these games with the game play idea is
similar. The actual idea of the games is different obviously. However they are within
the same genre. Although because the Zelda games have been such a big franchise for
so long, they don’t have too much competition within the genre in general. Although
there are games that have similar ideas, Zelda will always have loyal fans within the
gaming community.
Game Genre
The popularity of this game is shown through the most frequently talked about games
within this genre. They are clearly very popular within the genre that it is. As said before it
does have a very loyal audience therefore it is unlikely to go out out fashion any time soon
due to it being such a unique game.
Narrative
The narrative and main idea of Zelda is that you are a young
adventurer called Link who needs to go on a quest and try save
the princess Zelda at the end of the game while fighting all these
enemies and solving puzzles.
Graphics
The graphics are clearly fairly different but
also have similar ideas. The graphics for
Horizon are definitely more dark and
detailed in their on way where as Zelda is
more o a brighter game with still very
detailed graphics. They are both in 3rd
person but are both Context sensitive so
change perspectives when certain things
happen in the game to the character to
again add depth to the idea of the game
and game the perspective up when doing
something of more detail.
Game Box This game actually has two art
works for the box. One for
Europe and on for North America

Gaming Addiction
There are now a lot of cases of people becoming addicted to video games. It as caused
quite a few deaths within the gaming community. A lot of cases seem to be because of
people playing them for long periods of time. One game addict said “I felt like a drug
addict coming off his high,” this really shows how severe this addiction really can be
and how much it can really effect peoples lives. There’s been a lot of known deaths
from things such as blood clots from sitting in the same position for too long travelling
through the body to the lungs or brain. People are seeing it as an actual mental health
problem within the industry. With people playing ridiculous hours straight such as one
case of a a man playing 30 hours none stop, I definitely see it as an important problem
to be dealt with just like any other addiction.
