An Epic Hero in Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, a Poem...
Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, a poem by the Pearl Poet, sends an epic hero on a journey to
discover his flaw. In his journey of figuring out his flaw, Sir Gawain encounters a Green Knight that
holds a holly and axe in his hands. On a Christmas dinner, the Green knight rides into King Arthur s
hall proposing a game. Any knight willing to cut off the his head is able to keep the axe, but only if he
agrees to let the Green Knight return the blow at a later time. The Green knight was described as one
who was plantlike and had a giant body structure, leading to the assumption that he was a certain type
of vegetation god. The knight also held a holly in one hand and an axe in another, possibly
representing the necessity of plants to die in the cooler climates in order for them to grow again when
it summer returns. The Green Knight, playing an important role for plant life and crops, is still a
mysterious character. His odd characteristics with his supernatural powers make it evident that the
Green Knight has some connection with crops and vegetation. The Green Knight s physical features
are clearly described in the story. He was described to have green skin and a huge build: greater than
any on earth; from neck to loin so strong and thickly made, and with limbs so long and so great that he
seemed even as a giant... For he was clad all in green This indicates that the knight s sturdy build and
green color is like that of a healthy plant. The knight s long limbs

Entrepreneurship Is The Process Of Opening A New Business
Entrepreneurship is the process of opening a new business; typically the company offers an innovative
product, process or service. As per Carton et al, entrepreneurship is all about the identification of an
opportunity, creation of new organization, and pursuing new ventures. There are many various studies
based on entrepreneurship (directly as well as indirectly) like building and promoting a business,
applying creativity to make an existing business more productive, external skills required in
entrepreneurs, etc. In 1934, Schumpeter has stated that an entrepreneur not only needs to innovative
and creative but also should be able to take risk. His views where then supported by Wickham in
2006. The responsibilities of an entrepreneur ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As opposed to this a small business owner is the one whose objective is to manage stable growth,
sales, and profits for his business.
Every business that comes into existence goes through these phases. Pre inception phase where in the
business model is developed, the assets are allocated and the process is defined. It is then followed by
the inception phase, which incorporates the analysis of the estimated risks and costs. Then beings the
construction phase, where the project plan is prepared and the stakeholders are ready for the system to
function. Then comes the production phase, where the production begins commercially. It initiates
growth of the firm. In the growth phase of any enterprise, there are lots of challenges with the
revenues or profits increasing. The peaking of profits, additional repairs and maintenance charges in
the maturity phase then follows. Post this phase, the enterprise moves towards retirement unless it
splits into a new business model or is taken over.
Many researchers have studied Enterprise growth for decades now. Irrespective of the fact that the
enterprises are large or small and public or private, the growth of an enterprise is concerned with the
plans of the enterprise to execute fundamental changes. These fundamental changes involves multiple
things like modified or new relationships with the markets or / and customers, offering new products
or ones differentiated from those already existing in the markets, offering new services

Warriors Don t Cry Essay
In her memoir Warriors Don t Cry, Melba Pattillo Beals describes her experiences as she became one
of the first nine black students educated in an integrated white school. She and her friends, who
became known as the Little Rock Nine , elicited both support and criticism from their family
members, friends, community members, military troops, in addition to the President of the United
States. Melba s experiences, while heartbreaking and sobering, highlight the strength to overcome that
individuals can have over a system intent on keeping them down. Throughout her experience, Melba s
views and attitudes changed quite a bit. When she first volunteered to be one of the first black students
who would attend Central High School in Little ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Throughout the year, Melba developed a warrior mentality in order to make it through each day. She
became so fixated on surviving that she focused on little else during the school day. She also took the
advice of her Grandma India and smiled in the face of her attackers. She applied the phrase kill them
with kindness , which confused many of her attackers, which seemed to temporarily lessen the
severity and frequency of their attacks. After her year as a Central High student was over and she was
able to reflect upon her experiences, Melba came to the conclusion that the adults that watched the
white children torment and abuse she and her friends were simply afraid. They were afraid of change.
They were afraid that the social structure that placed them above blacks was going to crumble, leaving
them at the mercy of people who they ve kept down for so long. Most of all, Melba learned they were
afraid that once blacks started going to the same school as their children, they may begin to date,
marry and make families with their children. The two individuals who did the most to help Melba
survive while she was inside Central High School were Danny and Link. Danny served as Melba s
personal bodyguard for the initial months that integration was implemented in Little Rock. Danny was
a very important figure in Melba s school life because he represented safety and protection. Although
his motives were not altruistic because he was simply a soldier

Pope Juliusi Patronage Research Paper
Patronage is often known as the support that is given to an artist by the patron. A patron is someone
who provides support to artists. They become loyal customers to the artist and help them be put out on
the map. They often finance a starving artist.
One critical patron to art in Renaissance Italy was Pope Julius II. In this period the church was often,
the leading patrons of art and Pope Julius II helped keep the church one of the main patronages of this
time. He commissioned many artists who created famous art pieces in Rome and in despite that many
different families in Italy were rivaling the church. Julius II did whatever he could delay the plans of
Lorenzo de Medici, the most powerful patron in Italy at the time. He had taken Michelangelo and

Descartes, Hobbes, and Pascal Essay examples
Descartes, Hobbes, and Pascal During the 17th and 18th century, religion, religious beliefs and most
of all the religious leaders played a very influential role in the direction of politics. This was also a
time when religion and politics played a large role in the direction of what was accepted as a result of
the new discoveries in the natural sciences and in a time when there were some very influential
writers, philosophers, scientists and mathematicians. At the time, these people were considered to be
very radical and revolutionary because of some of their beliefs and this often times led them to be
highly scrutinized, criticized and sometimes even punished by the legal system. Now in the 21st

In it, Descartes talks about the existence of the human beings and the existence of God. He gets
himself to doubt everything and then assumes that doubt does exist. That is how he reaches to the
conclusion of Cogito Ergo Sum , which means, I think, therefore I am . He realizes that if he can
think, then he also exists, and he uses this also to prove the existence of God. He says that the body
and the mind are two separate entities and the only thing that unites them is God. Descartes was very
flattered to know how much people appreciate his writings and he assured that he probably would
have had a better time with the church nowadays because they are more open minded. In the past,
although Descartes believed in God, the Church did not like him a lot and that really depressed him.
He realized that nowadays, the Church is not as strict as before because science has taken total control
over the people and now is much more respected than before. As we can see, as time has gone by, he
continues, science has divorced from the church and it seems that soon it will become like a separate
religion because he was amazed how much people believe in all of the science s claims. The next
author that will talk about is Thomas Hobbes. As we all know, he was the writer of the famous
Leviathan, which was written in England on 1651. In his writing, he presents us a bleak picture of

South Carolina is known for many of its historical customs and treasures, one of them being the
Gullah language and culture which has become a consistent characteristic of the Carolina coast and

residents who still identify and participate in it, and the presence of Gullah is a center of interest for
those who travel to the sea islands of Charleston and Hilton Head to observe and learn more about it.
While Gullah is spoken by at least 300,000 African Americans in coastal regions across South

people who have remained in the low country region to the present day and continue with their
traditional Gullah language and culture to one extent or another. (Campbell). These peoples vary in
their degree of immersion in the Gullah culture, but still remain in the area in which the Gullah
language and lifestyle have been preserved since the days of slavery. The second circle, Modern
Gullahs , are separated into two groups. One group includes Gullahs who have remained in the low
country of South Carolina, but have lost their use of the language and culture. The second group is
made up of those who have retained their use of the Gullah language and culture, but live away from
their homeland. So, for example, there are many Gullah speaking families who live in Northeastern
cities such as New York, but send their children back to the southern coast so that the connection with
their traditions remains intact. The third circle of Gullah descendants is called Gullah Family . This
group is also separated into two different groups. The primary group including those who have lost
their Gullah language and culture when they moved away, but remained in contact with their family in
the low country; and the secondary being those who once left the land of their ancestors, but have

smaller, but no less important to the modern demographic of Gullah culture. The fourth circle, known
as the Gullah Diaspora refers to the Black Seminoles , whom are Gullah natives who fled to Florida

fifth circle is identified as the Gullah Descendants . This group is made up of those who were born or

Debt, Investment And Spending Analysis
Debt, Investment and Spending Analysis
With Tony s GIC coming due next month with an approximate worth of $163,000, now would be a
good time to conceder how best to spend this money.
Looking at your current net worth, I can see a major portion of your liabilities comes from your
mortgage. Come October, this mortgage will have decreased to $137,000. Should you refinance your
mortgage at the current rate of 5.5% for an additional 25 years, you d be paying an $115,811 in
interest. To compare, if you took this $137,000 and put it into a GIC, you d receive $89,105 which is
$26,706 less.
For this reason, I believe you should spend $137,000 of the GIC to pay of the house completely. This
will leave you with an extra $2,500 a month when compared to your current cash flow.
Similarly, your credit card debt can also be taken care of with the funds from the GIC. As the interest
on credit card debt is 30%, it s a good idea to get this paid off as quickly as possible. Credit card debt
can easily grow and get out of hand. The interest you would have to pay would be $1,365 more than
you would earn if you d put that same amount into a savings account for one year.
As CESGs also have a high interest rate of 20%, so it would be advantageous to put a full $10,000
into your children s RESP. This would give you the maximum available CESGs for the year, giving
you a return of $2,000. That s $1,550 more than you would earn if you d put that same amount into a
savings account for one year.

Good Will Hunting Sociology
Good Will Hunting was produced in 1997 starring Robin Williams, Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, and
Minnie Driver. Will Hunting, who is a genius but has a troubled past with abusive relationships. Will

time. The main plot is the building of the relationship between Will and Sean. Will s character
develops the most. Will slowly open up and confronts his past and decides to use his talents and do
something better for his future. While there was not much diversity with ethnicity, the main focus the
film addressed was the difference in social class and the relation of it towards education.
Will is an orphan who grew up in foster homes. He is from a poor South Boston neighborhood. He
lives alone in a junky house. His jobs were working as a janitor and a construction worker. Will is
considered low class status. He does not have higher education but is very intelligent. He was able to
educate himself through books. He can recite what he has read and is able to solve difficult math
problems. He doesn t see himself getting out of town and doing something bigger of himself. Will s
economic situation and how it s portrayed in this film is very realistic. He is a working class man that
just lives off of what he only needs.

D3: Evaluate the problems they have identified from unmonitored costs and budgets
Introduction:
For this task I will be discussing the effects of un monitoring cost and budgets, and seeing how
business could suffer if they are not look after responsibly. I will show disadvantages of not using this
method properly.
A cost of goods is what it should spend to make products. At the start of each period budget of
production will be ready, using cost of goods and predicted production quantities. At the end of each
period a variance report is prepared to compare the budget costs with the actual costs.
The variance report can tell how well Gardiner Store PLC did at carrying out their budget aims. A

They will have to make people redundant: People redundant can help the business to cut costs, but
there will be not enough staff to work in the supermarket, which some service can t be carried out to
customers. But because firing some staffs can help cut a lot, so they may need to take action.
Other competitors will sell more products: Because the supermarket of Gardiner Stores PLC doesn t
have that much money for input because they need to cut costs to cover the loss of profit on April, also
they make people redundant (explained above), so their competitors will take advantages on them, so
therefore they will sell more product.
Changes in costs
Variances can arise for a large number of reasons:
Errors in estimating
Poor management of resources
Unforeseen price changes
Equipment breakdown
Labor problems
Poor planning
Shortage of raw materials
Budgeting and Variance accounting presume that managers should fix problems, not bury or hide
them. It also presumes that these problems are short term problems, and can be effectively controlled
in the future. Sometimes there is a change in actual costs that necessitates a change in standard costs.
For instance, a new labor contract could increase total labor costs by a predictable amount. Standard
labor costs should be re calculated to reflect the new actual

Abstract: In the common case, the impulse response is finite because there is no feedback in the FIR.
A lack of feedback guarantees that the impulse response will be finite. Therefore, the term finite

around in the solution space searching for the optimist solution. Every particle in the algorithm acts as
a point in the N dimensional space. Each particle keeps the information in the solution space for each

Gothic Architecture And Its Impact On The Modern World
Technology, culture, architecture, and all other aspects of Earth are on an ever evolving cycle,
reaching closer and closer to perfection at each tick of the clock. Witnessing these developments is
like candy to our eyes, as we dwell in the research and creation of new models. Imagine the base
model of all development as a Romanesque style of architecture, and the more improved model as
gothic. Because gothic architecture was formed over a span of 5 centuries later than that of the
romans, it is an obvious factor that more profound techniques were formed and better structures were
built. Today I am going to take you on a visual tour of the two most well known cathedrals in
Medieval times. The first, Le Puy Cathedral, is centered on volcanic rock looking over Le Puy,
France. It features an entirely Romanesque architectural design, and follows just about every common
rule of roman architecture. The second cathedral you will journey through is the Exeter Cathedral,
which demonstrates an entirely opposite design. The gothic architecture of this building is depicted on
all sides, and can be seen on even the smallest of items within the cathedral. Both of these complex
structures feature distinct designs, each with their own intended purpose. These visual walkthroughs
will touch on the buildings architectural aspects and why they were selected to impress their visitors.

A DYNAMIC STRUCTURAL DESIGN FOR WEB APPLICATION

This research is concerned with the study and analysis of dynamic architecture and proposes an
improved structural design based on categorization based dynamic architecture. Categorization of
systematic demeanor plays a significant role in dynamic structural design of architecture to determine
the systematic approach, browsing, performance, accuracy, multimedia access and navigation. By
achieving systematic approach, the hierarchical structure is the idea which is behind the categorization

The extensive opportunities and convenient software design, and the larger demand for such

Best Garage Door Opener How To Know You Ve Found The Best Garage Door OpenerAs with many
other gadgets we take for granted, finding the best garage door opener is probably level with finding
the perfect soap on a rope on most peoples list of priorities. When you consider the impact they have
on the safety and security of your home, however, you ll realize that it may be prudent to give them a
little more thought. Think about it that garage door is probably the largest moving appliance in your

this makes this type of garage door very prone to causing accident and injury. No other appliance can
so easily be accidentally activated as the garage door opener. It s important to note that, following the
many unfortunate incidents involving garage doors and children, automatic garage door openers were

The Postcolonial Writers May Not Achieve International...
Abstract : The postcolonial writers may not achieve international success unless they address certain
themes, or more established figures discover them, should be considered as well. Mahasweta provides
a fruitful example: Mahasweta is an intensive and a social alert writer who showcases the rural
realities as well as a broad narrative of the importance of the unprivileged or the people living on the
extreme. While Mahasweta originally written in her native Bengali language, most of her works are
translated into English and regional Indian languages. The credit for translating her works into English
for the first time goes to Gayatri Spivak, who had translated Mahasweta s Draupadi in 1981 and
Breast Giver (Stanadayini) in 1987. Since then many of her stories have been translated into English
by other scholarly translators, and until now about a dozen translators have translated Mahasweta s
stories into English, among whom the foremost are Spivak and Bandyopadhyay. Mahasweta claims on
translators capturing the spirit of her work, which to her is more important than technical or even
artistic perfection and she readily authorizes those translations of her fiction that have been faithful to
the spirit of her fiction. A very important aspect of Mahasweta s text is spontaneity and capturing of
sudden surge of thoughts which runs in the mind of the characters. For instance, Spivak has translated

Health Systems Are Not An Open Society
Today not everyone has equal opportunities and access to health care. Not everyone is respected the
same due to their physical features: skin color, texture of hair, and body type. An open society helps
individuals to respect for diversity, to promote inclusion, to support for national and global initiatives
dedicated to eliminating disparities, and to create open, healthy societies. In order to be an open
society, one must have an open mind of co workers and patients and self discipline to laws.
An open society is considered to be utopia (Nyswander, 1985). Health systems are not an open society,
but are always working to improve and striving to become an open society. In an open society,
workers respects their coworkers and patients, future laws, and abide the rules. Workers in an open
society are all free men , who are self disciplined, respect for rational order, and accept conformity to
laws for the general good, and trust others (Nyswander, 1985). Free men know how to work with
workers efficiently by communicating.
As individuals, we have to promote inclusion. In an open society, people need to always brainstorm
new goals to help the system to improve. Goals are mainly accomplished when everyone works
together comfortably. In some type of way, everyone should be included in the task such as, coming
up of goals or ways to accomplish the goal or being a part of the goal to help accomplish it. By having
everyone work together, it will create a positive

Biological Altruism Is A Phenomenon Defined By French...
Biological altruism is a phenomenon defined by French philosopher Auguste Comte as behavior by an
individual that increases the fitness of another individual while decreasing the fitness of the actor. The
coinage of this term posed a difficult question to the field of evolutionary science, as it contradicted
with Charles Darwin s definition of the mechanism of natural selection. In The Origin of Species,
Darwin explains the mechanism of natural selection by stating that individuals having any advantage,
however slight, over others, would have the best chance of surviving and procreating their kind and

This is due to the selfishness that lies within human motives. By examining altruistic actions in
society, politics, and economics, we can determine that many acts of seemingly altruistic behavior are
driven by ulterior, selfish motives. During his 2012 presidential campaign, Senator Mitt Romney
released his 2011 tax forms under intense pressure and scrutiny from the Democratic Party and when
he did, many major news stations announced in bold headlines that Romney donated 29.4% of his
annual income to charities while Obama only donated 21.8%. This helped his campaign as republican
ideology states that if tax rates are lower, people will donate more money to charities of their own
choice. Republicans believe that this method is more efficient than taxes, as the government doesn t
dictate how much of whose money goes where, the people are the ones to decide how to donate their
money to whichever charity they choose. However, democrats urged the populace to scrutinize the tax
forms, as certain sections of the forms seemed dubious. Obama paid a rate of 26% federal income
taxes that year while Romney only paid a rate of 14%. As experts delved deeper into the forms, they
came to realize some facts that discredited Romney. Part of Romney s charitable donations were set up
as a Charitable Remainder UniTrust, a system for donations that was done away with in 1997 because

Adaptations And Applications Of Physical Extremes
Extremophiles: adaptations and applications to physical extremes
On the earth, millions of organisms live in various environments. They need certain temperature, pH,
nutrient growth, certain range of salt, pressure, water and so on. However, some organisms can live
beyond these conditions which mean they can survive in extreme environmental conditions called
Extremophiles (Gupta, Khare et al., 2014). These extreme environments are: highly pressure, acidic or
alkaline region, high temperature or extreme low temperature condition. These organisms have
different characterisation and biochemical mechanism for tolerating some environmental conditions
on the earth. They adopt to live in extreme condition by different enzymes or biomolecules. There are
different types of Extremophiles. For example, thermophiles, acidophiles, barophiles, radiophiles,
halophiles, xerophiles, osmophiles. There are two main types of extreme conditions: physical
(radiation, Temperature, pressure) and geochemical (pH, salinity). These microorganisms found in
various typical environments on the earth. Some grow in the deep sea where the pressure is very high
and some can survive in Antarctica, the place always having ice and glaciers. Extremophiles can
tolerate extreme conditions but also they have to need those environments for their growth.
Extremophiles organisms present in all three domains bacteria, archaea and eukarya but most of
extremophiles are come from archaea group. Archaea have

College Admissions Essay-Personal Narrative Of My Life
My life is ineffable. Sometimes I wonder if my life can be counted as an oxymoron? So sour, yet so
sweet. An organized madness. A sane insanity?! When one thing happens, another follows; being
contradictory to the first. Or maybe an anaphora? Always starting the same tedious way, but always
ending differently. Perhaps my life is an idiom. Not many understand how my life goes through its day
to day basis possibly being no one except me. How arduous life seems to my eyes, however it appears
to be the simplest and effortless , implying that I don t have to work to achieve or receive something to
others. Despite the fact that they have never lived a day I have, they still decide to give me a non

Why was it absurd? It just was. I am incapable of explaining it, for the reason that it s impossible. It s
something one doesn t talk about to another; everyone just has the knowledge about it and has had a
day that felt absurd or out of place at least once in their life; this is an example of an idiom.
Notwithstanding how the day felt, my predictions came true. While contemplating on the
effervescence in the puddles as the rain kissed the top of my head, I realized that even the most simple
everyday things are bijoux, whether it s a pearl or a drop of rain. After the rain ended, it left behind
only the petrichor smelling zephyr, that just calms any situation. The one that makes everyone s day
slow down, just so they can enjoy the pleasant momentum of the day. However, the delightful
momentum got interrupted by the realization that I had homework. Thus, I skipped dinner and sprinted
to my room to finish my homework. Regrettably, I spent most of time fantasizing about that
momentum. Fantasizing about that moment; how many people encounter that after rain momentum
every day? Every minute? Maybe every second? No doubt those questions won t be leaving my mind
soon. Well, I guess, as lost as Alice and as mad as the Hatter,

Differences Between The Governmental Accounting Standard...
Comparing and Contrasting The Difference Between GASB and FASB By: Chris Lawson Keiser
University For as long as human interactions have allowed the exchange of value between goods or
services, accountancy has been the language of which business transactions are speaking (Salem,
2013). Accounting keeps track of and explains how money is used by non profit organizations, for
profit businesses, governments and other individuals. Sounds simple enough right? Well, in all reality
it is not that simple. Nowadays, there are many different forms of accounting let alone different set of
standards that certain, and sometimes all, organizations must follow. Today there are two main
standard setters in the United States that is responsible for providing up to date standards for its
corresponding organizations. Although these two standards are very similar in nature, they are also
very different when it comes to their own individual reporting requirements. Throughout the rest of
this paper I will not only compare and contrast the differences between the Governmental Accounting
Standard Board (GASB) and the Financial Accounting Standard Board (FASB), but also how they
differ when it comes to their reporting requirements. To get a better understanding of who these
standard setters are, let s go over a brief history and background of these two accounting standard
boards. The first standard board to be discussed is FASB. FASB was created in 1973, after the

Analysis Of Kenneth Branagh s Much Ado About Nothing
Kenneth Branagh s Much Ado About Nothing is remarkably different in tone from the other plays
discussed. Unlike the other two comedies, Taming of the Shrew and Merchant of Venice, there are far
fewer comedic aspects that do not translate well to modern audiences. The film has much less violence
in it than the others and even its chief villain is more like a cartoon villain than an outright evil
manipulator.
The tragedies are known for their fascinatingly complex villains such as Richard III or Iago, but
Keanu Reeves Don John comes across as a character lost in the wrong movie. He lurks in the shadows
and is not really given a compelling motive for his cruel actions. He does not even enact the rare few
scenes of violence in the film. In a different play, the ineffectual portrayal of the villain could ruin the
whole production, but Branagh understands that Much Ado About Nothing s most important parts are
the dynamics between the two sets of couples, something this film does quite well.
It is this toning down of violence and dark undertones that allows the film to be so successful. Claudio
s striking of Hero is the most noticeable physical violence and it is quickly followed by a romantic
scene between Beatrice and Benedick to restore the tone. It comes across well as a modern romantic
comedy, with just enough darkness to drive the plot forward. To make the film darker than it has to be
would diminish how enjoyable and fun to watch it is.

Boeing And Airbus Approach The Aircraft Marketplace
Dominating the commercial aircraft market for decades, Boeing is considered to be the most highly
competitive U.S aerospace industry. U.S. firms manufacture a wide variety of products for civil and
defense purposes and, in 2010, the value of aerospace industry shipments was estimated at $171
billion, of which civil aircraft and aircraft parts accounted for over half of all U.S. aerospace
shipments. The U.S. aerospace industry exported nearly $78 billion in products in 2010, of which $67
billion (or 86% of total exports) were civil aircraft, engines, equipment, and parts (Harrison, 2011).
However, its position of influence has lessened in recent years. This is due to its main competitor,
Airbus, who in recent years has made significant ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Second, Airbus, McDonnell Douglas, and Boeing are multi product firms that are selling several
products during most time periods. When Boeing considers lowering a price of one of its products,
this will not only reduce the market share of Airbus s products, but it might also undercut the sales of
Boeing s other products. Boeing may then lower its prices by less than in a situation when it only sells
one product.
In a strategy similar to that of Airbus, Boeing absorbed its largest rival, McDonnell Douglas, in 1977.
Boeing s newest entry into the market is the 787 Dreamliner, a revolutionary jetliner manufactured
with up to 50 percent composition materials and designed to increase fuel efficiency and reduce
environmental impact. The aircraft has suffered several problems since the first model rolled off the
line in 2007, most notably with the lithium ion battery pack. These issues were resolved in 2013 and
Boeing expects the 787 to be incredibly successful due to new demand for super efficient airliners, a
result of rising global fuel prices. Boeing is the wworld s largest aerospace company, and the leading
manufacturer of commercial jetliners and military aircraft combined. The company designs and
manufactures rotorcraft, electronic and defense systems, missiles, satellites, launch vehicles and
advanced information and communication systems. They are a major

Argumentative Essay On Fox-Hunting
Fox hunting A Barbaric Tradition That Should Remain Firmly In The Past Fox hunting The sport of
hunting a fox across country with a pack of hounds by a group of people on foot and horseback, a
traditional sport of the English landed gentry (Oxford Dictionary) Two perspectives exist within fox
hunting, they either hate fox hunting as they believe it is a horrendous form of animal cruelty or they
think that foxes aren t like other domesticated animals and their lives are not worth anything anyway.
From a young age of 12 I took an interest in the differences between foxes and dogs. I wondered why
dogs receive domestication and the other doesn t; why humans can brutally murder foxes and the other

in favour of fox hunting. Not only does that give us an account of what kind of person is running our
country but informs us just how corrupt the political view on hunting in general might be within
parliament. Instead of a fine, those guilty of ignoring the ban should face a jail sentence. As money is
not an issue for those who take part in fox hunting, the threat of spending some time in prison might
be the only route that takes them into realisation of the wrong they re partaking

Religion And Its Effect On Society
Religion plays a large role in today s society, it s used to comfort us in our greatest times of need as
well as explain seemingly unknowable questions, such as what is the meaning of life, why are we
here, what happens when we die, why do we suffer but now as in the past religion can be a harmful
factor in our society. It has been the cause of wars, witch hunts, and proliferated superstition. Today
there are such laws that allow a parent to deny their child adequate medical care even if it s to treat a
potentially life threatening illness. In other cases religion is cited as a reason to deny someone access
to birth control. In school s modern science is at times having to contend with creationism which
seems to be a reinterpreting of modern science and is in complete opposition with established facts.
Other times such things as sex education is taught inaccurately which then leaders to things such as
high rates of teen pregnancies and STD s spreading. In other countries these actions are at times more
extreme such as when we hear about suicide bombings, honor killing, and the like. In this paper I will
discuss a few of these topics that I find to be pertinent, yet the topics are many. I will discuss the
harms that such actions can cause to us as a society both socially and physically due to such harmful
laws, I will also discuss the social reasons as to why such actions are performed in the first place and
why they may be found to be socially acceptable. Lastly I will speak

Family Law Reform
Law reform has been rather effective in catering to contemporary issues concerning family members
in a equal and accessible way. Although, the effectiveness of law reform relating to family members
has been slow to develop, the current quality of family law, which is guided by the means of the 1975
Family Law Act (FLA) has been affecting justice for family members. The effectiveness of family law
has changed a lot over time. The legislation that has been changed to ensure the effectiveness of the
family law system includes the reform of the family laws Property (Relationships) Legislation
Amendment Act 1999 (NSW), Family Provision Act 1982 (NSW) (now replaced by the Succession
Act 2006 (NSW), Family Law Amendment (Shared Parental Responsibility) ... Show more content on

This change in law achieves justice for most same sex couples, though there still are some couples
who are negatively affected by this changing issue. The issue of shared parental responsibility is
another issue that provides difficulty in achieving justice for the family law. There is a belief that
equal shared parental responsibility is in the best interest of the child although this may not always be
the case. An example of not achieving justice in this area is if a divorcing mother claims that her ex
husband is abusive and her husband should not gain any sort of custody of her children; if the mother
does not have any evidence to back this up, her abusive ex partner may gain custody of their children
and the mother doesn t. This in itself is a huge injustice for the mother and her children. The
contemporary issue of surrogacy and birth technologies has been a long and argumentative topic.
Some people may argue that a woman bearing a child for another couple is a sacrifice of their body,
while others view it as an unethical and damaging process for the child; saying that the child is denied
their birth parents. The laws relating to surrogacy differ in many countries but most countries agree on
commercial surrogacy, saying that it be illegal for a woman to be paid to give birth to someone else s
child. The responsibility of the care and protection of children lies with the child s parents. The
decisions regarding children may include the child s health, schooling, cultural upbringing and many
other factors. The protection of the children becomes a problem when the parents of the children may
not be able to provide adequate care and protection for their children, which is when the law will start
to intervene in various

The Chrysalids is a Dark Book by John Wyndham
The Chrysalids by John Wyndham is a dark book where the plot, characters and setting are all
influenced by death. The word Chrysalid is a scientific term which refers to the larva that most insects
pass through before becoming adults. John Wyndham metaphorically compares this definition to the
story by comparing this process to humans. He is saying that the state humans were in before
Tribulation was a baby state and now they are maturing into adults. It does not come at an easy price;
sacrifice and death affect the process of change. The influence of prejudice and bigotry throughout
The Chrysalids leads to death in the lives of Sophie Wender, Aunt Harriet and Joseph Strorm. Firstly,
resulting from prejudice and bigotry Sophie is killed tragically. Since Sophie was born with a mutation
(a sixth toe) the community of Waknuk s views towards Sophie s extra toe force Sophie and her family
to flee to the Fringes. The Fringes is a dry wasteland where all deviations (mutations) are sent to die
upon their discovery. After Sophie and her family fled; the inspector a man who monitors mutations
speaks to David about Sophie s toe, telling David the seriousness of the situation. Not reporting a
human deviation is a very, very serious thing. People go to prison for it. (51). Being pushed to the
Fringes because of prejudice and bigotry brings Sophie one step closer to her own demise.
Consequently, her new life is filled with darkness, starvation and loneliness in which death slowly

Myers Brigg Type Indicator The Myers Brigg Assessment, and the four dimensions of personality
types based on the findings of Carl Jung, Isabel Myers and Katharine Briggs, indicates Katie as an
ISFJ (intuitive, sensing, feeling, and judging). People falling into this category are often known as
nurturers. Additionally, individuals of this personality type tend to be practical, and sensitive towards
other s feelings. These traits make the ISFJ personality ideal for careers such as counseling where they
are needed to give practical and emotional support. ISFJ personality types are reliable, and exhibit a
strong sense of responsibility and duty (Sharf, 2013). Moreover, this personality type prefers
organization, planning, and schedules, (Neukrug Fawcett, 2015); qualities that Katie has presented in
her coaching positions. These characteristics have been noted in jobs that Katie has held. Furthermore,
ISFJ individuals carry high standards of work ethic (ISFJ Introverted, Sensing, feeling, Judging).
Careers where they serve others best suit their personality style. Both of Katie s career pursuits
necessitate serving others. ISFJ s are warm, sensitive to others feelings, and value kindness; additional
qualities essential qualities to being a genuine counselor and caring, nurturing, supportive coach
(Portrait of an ISFJ, 2015).

  • 2. An Epic Hero in Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, a Poem... Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, a poem by the Pearl Poet, sends an epic hero on a journey to discover his flaw. In his journey of figuring out his flaw, Sir Gawain encounters a Green Knight that holds a holly and axe in his hands. On a Christmas dinner, the Green knight rides into King Arthur s hall proposing a game. Any knight willing to cut off the his head is able to keep the axe, but only if he agrees to let the Green Knight return the blow at a later time. The Green knight was described as one who was plantlike and had a giant body structure, leading to the assumption that he was a certain type of vegetation god. The knight also held a holly in one hand and an axe in another, possibly representing the necessity of plants to die in the cooler climates in order for them to grow again when it summer returns. The Green Knight, playing an important role for plant life and crops, is still a mysterious character. His odd characteristics with his supernatural powers make it evident that the Green Knight has some connection with crops and vegetation. The Green Knight s physical features are clearly described in the story. He was described to have green skin and a huge build: greater than any on earth; from neck to loin so strong and thickly made, and with limbs so long and so great that he seemed even as a giant... For he was clad all in green This indicates that the knight s sturdy build and green color is like that of a healthy plant. The knight s long limbs ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

As opposed to this a small business owner is the one whose objective is to manage stable growth, sales, and profits for his business. Every business that comes into existence goes through these phases. Pre inception phase where in the business model is developed, the assets are allocated and the process is defined. It is then followed by the inception phase, which incorporates the analysis of the estimated risks and costs. Then beings the construction phase, where the project plan is prepared and the stakeholders are ready for the system to function. Then comes the production phase, where the production begins commercially. It initiates growth of the firm. In the growth phase of any enterprise, there are lots of challenges with the revenues or profits increasing. The peaking of profits, additional repairs and maintenance charges in the maturity phase then follows. Post this phase, the enterprise moves towards retirement unless it splits into a new business model or is taken over. Many researchers have studied Enterprise growth for decades now. Irrespective of the fact that the enterprises are large or small and public or private, the growth of an enterprise is concerned with the plans of the enterprise to execute fundamental changes. • 4. Warriors Don t Cry Essay In her memoir Warriors Don t Cry, Melba Pattillo Beals describes her experiences as she became one of the first nine black students educated in an integrated white school. She and her friends, who became known as the Little Rock Nine , elicited both support and criticism from their family members, friends, community members, military troops, in addition to the President of the United States. Melba s experiences, while heartbreaking and sobering, highlight the strength to overcome that individuals can have over a system intent on keeping them down. Throughout her experience, Melba s views and attitudes changed quite a bit. When she first volunteered to be one of the first black students who would attend Central High School in Little ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Throughout the year, Melba developed a warrior mentality in order to make it through each day. She became so fixated on surviving that she focused on little else during the school day. She also took the advice of her Grandma India and smiled in the face of her attackers. She applied the phrase kill them with kindness , which confused many of her attackers, which seemed to temporarily lessen the severity and frequency of their attacks. After her year as a Central High student was over and she was able to reflect upon her experiences, Melba came to the conclusion that the adults that watched the white children torment and abuse she and her friends were simply afraid. They were afraid of change. They were afraid that the social structure that placed them above blacks was going to crumble, leaving them at the mercy of people who they ve kept down for so long. Most of all, Melba learned they were afraid that once blacks started going to the same school as their children, they may begin to date, marry and make families with their children. The two individuals who did the most to help Melba survive while she was inside Central High School were Danny and Link. Danny served as Melba s personal bodyguard for the initial months that integration was implemented in Little Rock. Danny was a very important figure in Melba s school life because he represented safety and protection. Although his motives were not altruistic because he was simply a soldier ... He gets himself to doubt everything and then assumes that doubt does exist. That is how he reaches to the conclusion of Cogito Ergo Sum , which means, I think, therefore I am . He realizes that if he can think, then he also exists, and he uses this also to prove the existence of God. He says that the body and the mind are two separate entities and the only thing that unites them is God. Descartes was very flattered to know how much people appreciate his writings and he assured that he probably would have had a better time with the church nowadays because they are more open minded. In the past, although Descartes believed in God, the Church did not like him a lot and that really depressed him. He realized that nowadays, the Church is not as strict as before because science has taken total control over the people and now is much more respected than before. As we can see, as time has gone by, he continues, science has divorced from the church and it seems that soon it will become like a separate religion because he was amazed how much people believe in all of the science s claims. Debt, Investment And Spending Analysis Debt, Investment and Spending Analysis With Tony s GIC coming due next month with an approximate worth of $163,000, now would be a good time to conceder how best to spend this money. Looking at your current net worth, I can see a major portion of your liabilities comes from your mortgage. Come October, this mortgage will have decreased to $137,000. Should you refinance your mortgage at the current rate of 5.5% for an additional 25 years, you d be paying an $115,811 in interest. To compare, if you took this $137,000 and put it into a GIC, you d receive $89,105 which is $26,706 less. For this reason, I believe you should spend $137,000 of the GIC to pay of the house completely. This will leave you with an extra $2,500 a month when compared to your current cash flow. Similarly, your credit card debt can also be taken care of with the funds from the GIC. As the interest on credit card debt is 30%, it s a good idea to get this paid off as quickly as possible. Credit card debt can easily grow and get out of hand. The interest you would have to pay would be $1,365 more than you would earn if you d put that same amount into a savings account for one year. As CESGs also have a high interest rate of 20%, so it would be advantageous to put a full $10,000 into your children s RESP. This would give you the maximum available CESGs for the year, giving you a return of $2,000. That s $1,550 more than you would earn if you d put that same amount into a savings account for one year. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Will Hunting, who is a genius but has a troubled past with abusive relationships. Will gets help from a therapist, Dr. Sean, with the help of Lambeau to do advanced math to get out of jail time. The main plot is the building of the relationship between Will and Sean. Will s character develops the most. Will slowly open up and confronts his past and decides to use his talents and do something better for his future. While there was not much diversity with ethnicity, the main focus the film addressed was the difference in social class and the relation of it towards education. Will is an orphan who grew up in foster homes. He is from a poor South Boston neighborhood. He lives alone in a junky house. His jobs were working as a janitor and a construction worker. Will is considered low class status. He does not have higher education but is very intelligent. He was able to educate himself through books. He can recite what he has read and is able to solve difficult math problems. He doesn t see himself getting out of town and doing something bigger of himself. Will s economic situation and how it s portrayed in this film is very realistic. He is a working class man that just lives off of what he only needs. I will show disadvantages of not using this method properly. A cost of goods is what it should spend to make products. At the start of each period budget of production will be ready, using cost of goods and predicted production quantities. At the end of each period a variance report is prepared to compare the budget costs with the actual costs. Other competitors will sell more products: Because the supermarket of Gardiner Stores PLC doesn t have that much money for input because they need to cut costs to cover the loss of profit on April, also they make people redundant (explained above), so their competitors will take advantages on them, so therefore they will sell more product. Witnessing these developments is like candy to our eyes, as we dwell in the research and creation of new models. Imagine the base model of all development as a Romanesque style of architecture, and the more improved model as gothic. Because gothic architecture was formed over a span of 5 centuries later than that of the romans, it is an obvious factor that more profound techniques were formed and better structures were built. Today I am going to take you on a visual tour of the two most well known cathedrals in Medieval times. The first, Le Puy Cathedral, is centered on volcanic rock looking over Le Puy, France. It features an entirely Romanesque architectural design, and follows just about every common rule of roman architecture. The second cathedral you will journey through is the Exeter Cathedral, which demonstrates an entirely opposite design. The gothic architecture of this building is depicted on all sides, and can be seen on even the smallest of items within the cathedral. Both of these complex structures feature distinct designs, each with their own intended purpose. Mahasweta provides a fruitful example: Mahasweta is an intensive and a social alert writer who showcases the rural realities as well as a broad narrative of the importance of the unprivileged or the people living on the extreme. While Mahasweta originally written in her native Bengali language, most of her works are translated into English and regional Indian languages. The credit for translating her works into English for the first time goes to Gayatri Spivak, who had translated Mahasweta s Draupadi in 1981 and Breast Giver (Stanadayini) in 1987. Since then many of her stories have been translated into English by other scholarly translators, and until now about a dozen translators have translated Mahasweta s stories into English, among whom the foremost are Spivak and Bandyopadhyay. Mahasweta claims on translators capturing the spirit of her work, which to her is more important than technical or even artistic perfection and she readily authorizes those translations of her fiction that have been faithful to the spirit of her fiction. Not everyone is respected the same due to their physical features: skin color, texture of hair, and body type. An open society helps individuals to respect for diversity, to promote inclusion, to support for national and global initiatives dedicated to eliminating disparities, and to create open, healthy societies. In order to be an open society, one must have an open mind of co workers and patients and self discipline to laws. An open society is considered to be utopia (Nyswander, 1985). Biological altruism is a phenomenon defined by French philosopher Auguste Comte as behavior by an individual that increases the fitness of another individual while decreasing the fitness of the actor. In The Origin of Species, Darwin explains the mechanism of natural selection by stating that individuals having any advantage, however slight, over others, would have the best chance of surviving and procreating their kind and On the other hand, we may feel sure that any variation in the least degree injurious would be rigidly destroyed (83). Unlike the other two comedies, Taming of the Shrew and Merchant of Venice, there are far fewer comedic aspects that do not translate well to modern audiences. The film has much less violence in it than the others and even its chief villain is more like a cartoon villain than an outright evil manipulator. The tragedies are known for their fascinatingly complex villains such as Richard III or Iago, but Keanu Reeves Don John comes across as a character lost in the wrong movie. He lurks in the shadows and is not really given a compelling motive for his cruel actions. He does not even enact the rare few scenes of violence in the film. In a different play, the ineffectual portrayal of the villain could ruin the whole production, but Branagh understands that Much Ado About Nothing s most important parts are the dynamics between the two sets of couples, something this film does quite well. It is this toning down of violence and dark undertones that allows the film to be so successful. Claudio s striking of Hero is the most noticeable physical violence and it is quickly followed by a romantic scene between Beatrice and Benedick to restore the tone. The legislation that has been changed to ensure the effectiveness of the family law system includes the reform of the family laws Property (Relationships) Legislation Amendment Act 1999 (NSW), Family Provision Act 1982 (NSW) (now replaced by the Succession Act 2006 (NSW), Family Law Amendment (Shared Parental Responsibility) ... The issue of shared parental responsibility is another issue that provides difficulty in achieving justice for the family law. There is a belief that equal shared parental responsibility is in the best interest of the child although this may not always be the case. An example of not achieving justice in this area is if a divorcing mother claims that her ex husband is abusive and her husband should not gain any sort of custody of her children; if the mother does not have any evidence to back this up, her abusive ex partner may gain custody of their children and the mother doesn t. This in itself is a huge injustice for the mother and her children. The contemporary issue of surrogacy and birth technologies has been a long and argumentative topic. Some people may argue that a woman bearing a child for another couple is a sacrifice of their body, while others view it as an unethical and damaging process for the child; saying that the child is denied their birth parents. The laws relating to surrogacy differ in many countries but most countries agree on commercial surrogacy, saying that it be illegal for a woman to be paid to give birth to someone else s child. The responsibility of the care and protection of children lies with the child s parents. • 34. The Chrysalids is a Dark Book by John Wyndham The Chrysalids by John Wyndham is a dark book where the plot, characters and setting are all influenced by death. The word Chrysalid is a scientific term which refers to the larva that most insects pass through before becoming adults. John Wyndham metaphorically compares this definition to the story by comparing this process to humans. He is saying that the state humans were in before Tribulation was a baby state and now they are maturing into adults. It does not come at an easy price; sacrifice and death affect the process of change. The influence of prejudice and bigotry throughout The Chrysalids leads to death in the lives of Sophie Wender, Aunt Harriet and Joseph Strorm. Firstly, resulting from prejudice and bigotry Sophie is killed tragically. Since Sophie was born with a mutation (a sixth toe) the community of Waknuk s views towards Sophie s extra toe force Sophie and her family to flee to the Fringes. The Fringes is a dry wasteland where all deviations (mutations) are sent to die upon their discovery. After Sophie and her family fled; the inspector a man who monitors mutations speaks to David about Sophie s toe, telling David the seriousness of the situation. Not reporting a human deviation is a very, very serious thing. People go to prison for it. (51). Being pushed to the Fringes because of prejudice and bigotry brings Sophie one step closer to her own demise. Consequently, her new life is filled with darkness, starvation and loneliness in which death slowly ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
