Abstract
This paper contains the brief introduction of Set theory which included the definition, origination,
history and modernization of set theory and mathematical field related to it. The main focus of this
paper will be on the application of set theory in different discipline.
Set Theory, Computer Science and axiomatizations of Set Theory
Mathematics is the study of numbers, and counting, and measuring, but that is only the beginning.
Mathematics involves the study of number patterns and relationships. Set theory is an area of
mathematics that deals with inconceivable numbers, and bottomless concepts such as infinity. The
history of set theory is relatively dissimilar from the history of most other parts of mathematics. Set
Theory was founded by Georg Cantor in 1874 in his paper On a Characteristics Property of All Real
Algebraic Numbers . Naive set theory is fun, and as we saw with Cantor s diagonalization, it can
produce some incredibly beautiful results. But as we ve seen before, in the simple world of naive set
theory, it s easy to run into trouble, in the form of Russell s paradox and a variety of related problems.
The sake of completeness, Russell s paradox concerns the set R={s | s ∉ s}. Is R∈R? If R∈R, then by
the definition of R∉R. But by definition, if R∉R,

My Personal Identity
Typically for most teenagers, it is difficult to define who they are as a person... but not for me. I would
not define myself in any particular context. I strive for the things I want in life, and do what it takes to
accomplish my goals. There are multiple categories I particularly focus on for my own benefits such
as, where I have chosen to attend college and the field I portray interest in majoring, how athletics
have impacted my life, and the reflection of who I have been throughout my seventeen years of life.
When analyzing those topics, I reflect on my past and use it as a reference for how I would like my
future to turn out. Throughout my life, I have had the ability to move over thirteen times, attend nine
schools, and engage in the world s diversity and different scenery when doing so.[E. Real life]
Ultimately when traveling and moving to various places, fashion has been the one thing that tends to
catch my eye. Between both traveling and fashion I have chosen to major in International Business
and become a buyer for fashion. Why do I admire fashion so much? I believe fashion is showing who
you are without the expression of voice. Being able to have the ability to travel around the world
selecting and purchasing various pieces of clothing, and trying to sell the items to large retailers by
using my voice of persuasion excites me.[DT: Question and Answer] I can t change the direction of
the wind, but I can adjust my sails to always reach my destination Jimmy

Analysis Of The Novel Franny And Zooey By J.d. Salinger
Human life is a blend of myriad of emotions. Our emotions add facets to our humanity they give us
dimensions and make us the social, emotional and intellectual beings we are. People go through both
good and rough times. While some persevere through these times, some crack and acquire fissures. In
the novella Franny and Zooey by J.D. Salinger, Franny Glass is undergoing a similar identity and
existential crisis which severely derails her life. Disenchanted by the superficiality of the world
surrounding her, Franny embarks on a process of purgation, distancing herself from the world along
the way. Franny s folly in assuming that the change she is looking for can only be achieved by
detaching herself from her life, the things that matter the most to her, starting anew, shows her
dogmatic approach to self purification. In seeking union with reality which is what the mystical
experience is, she leaves the reality of her life behind herself, resulting in her ending up stranded in a
perilous path of self questioning. Franny Glass is on a journey of self discovery. Driven by the notion
that everything and everyone she knows is selfish and phony, Franny tries to imitate a life of seclusion
and monastic living. She is influenced by her brother Seymour s way of life, his philosophies and the
book The Way of A Pilgrim she finds on his desk. The book recounts the story of a Russian monk who
goes around ceaselessly saying the name of God in hopes of connecting more closely with

The Role Of Persuasion Within The Reid And Peace Model...
This paper examines the role of persuasion within the Reid and PEACE model techniques of
interrogation and how race and stereotype threats influence these interrogation styles. False confession
is also defined and discussed. A variety of race and cultures are included, focusing primarily on
African American and Caucasian individuals. Police interrogation can be persuasive in many ways
and effects the potential suspect physiologically and psychologically. Considering the discussed
effects of police interrogation, the PEACE model technique seems to be the most persuasive technique
of police interrogation. The PEACE model technique is preferred more among police and among the
different studies.
The EFFECT OF PERSUASION 3
The Effect of Persuasion in Police Interrogation and False Confession In January 1988 Michael Crow,
a caucasian boy who is fourteen years old, confessed to murdering his older sister in their childhood
home. Crow was interrogated for ten hours when he eventually admitted to a crime he did not commit.
Through his interrogation, Crow showed signs of distress. When Crow would say that he had a feeling
he killed his sister the interrogator went along with what Crow said and tried to get an even greater
confession out of him by being coercive and confrontational. As the interrogation progressed Crow s
level of distress became greater. Crow was going back and forth between whether he murdered his
sister or not. At

Relationship Between The Old And New Testament
Relationship between the Old and New Testament
The relationship of the Old Testament and the New Testament has been the cause for a series of
debates for many generations. In some cases, the Bible is believed to be just a random assortment of
individual scrolls brought together in no precise fashion and for no particular reason, with the Old and
New Testament being completely separated from one another, this is of course false. The Bible is, as a
whole, the given Word of God brought together by a variety of human authors under the Divine
Inspiration of the One True Divine Author, God Himself. Similarly, the Old Testament should not be
neglected and replaced by the New Testament, as the New Testament is deeply rooted within the Old
Testament and the Old Testament is brought into full manifestation, through Jesus Christ, within the
New Testament. Therefore, the New Testament cannot exist without the Old Testament and the Old
Testament cannot become fulfilled without the New Testament. Throughout the world, in many
different religions, the Bible is used as a guide for life during our time on earth, however, some have
taken it upon themselves to edit the Word of God and remove parts of scripture that they believe to be
false or irrelevant. The Catholic Church understands that the Bible exists without error, because of
God s intervention and inspiration during its development, and that we are to accept and become
educated on all parts of the Bible in order to

Gore Case Analysis Essay
Gore Case Analysis Bill Gore is a primary example of a unique, yet successful, approach on
structuring his business using a lattice system. Lattice systems are organized to promote ingenuity and
performance without hierarchy of authority (Grant, 2010, p. 412). Gore s intent was to create an
environment with self managed associates pursuing personal commitments and working together to
achieve diverse innovations (p. 412). The success of W.L. Gore Associates exercising a lattice system
structure has been admirable but this system has adverse effects including confusion of how an
associate is paid for his contributions. In addition to maintaining Gore s core vision to promote
ingenuity and performance without hierarchy of authority, a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Relevant Factual Information about the Problem or Decision the Organization Faced Gore s belief and
implementation of a lattice system was successful in his vision for creativity and innovation but the
structure presented a lack of clarity in regards to the amount of compensation given to employees
relating to their specific qualifications, expertise and performance.
Explanation of Relevant Concepts, Theories and Application Derived from Course Materials Lattice
systems grant several advantages for an organization looking to prosper from diversified talent.
However, it creates complicated parameters on how an employee should be compensated when a
framework is not present for guidance. Mayhem (2012) presented Gore s acknowledgement of the
complexity when he stated it s unrealistic for people to set their own salaries (para 3). Gore s
alternative was to compensate based on annual peer reviews. Although companies should consider
peer reviews during an employee evaluation, the associates should not be in control of the
compensation of others. If a company uses this approach it can cause skewed evaluations with various
ratings due to personal differences. Vinson (1996) highlighted this point by bringing up a concern with
conflicted opinions and asking the question, who decides who is right? (para. 11). As a professional
and employee, I prefer to have a clear

Social Psychological Principles in the Movie Shrek (2001)
For most people, movies are made for entertainment. However, there are also movies that go beyond
merely entertaining its audience. There are films that have been created making use of psychological
principles, which enrich the movie viewing experience of audiences. This paper will focus on the
movie Shrek, which was released in 2001, directed by Andrew Adamson and Vicky Jenson.
Shrek tells the story of a green ogre named Shrek and a princess named Fiona. Shrek was feared by all
the people in the town of Duloc. He lived alone in a swamp, which he one day found to be swamped

Shrek told the donkey about the prejudice of people toward him. He told the donkey that people judge
him even before they get to know him. People see him as a big, stupid ogre who will eat them. And for
this reason, he doesn t want to get close to anyone. The people of Duloc are prejudiced against Shrek
because of how he looks, which is similar to how certain people are prejudiced based on the color of
their skin. Prejudice is also shown in the movie when Shrek goes to the town of Duloc and a man
wearing a big head gear sees him and runs away because he is an ogre. The man thinks that Shrek will
eat him so he ran away.
Lord Farquaad has prejudice against magical creatures. This is shown when he has ordered that the
magical creatures be exiled to the forest. This action also illustrates the discrimination that the magical
creatures experienced due to Lord Farquaad s personal prejudices. The magical creatures were showed
to be treated like criminals, taken into carts and placed in cages. Furthermore, Lord Farquaad also has
prejudice against ogres. He identifies and calls Shrek as it , connoting that he thinks of himself as
superior to an ogre like Shrek. And when Fiona first meets Farquaad, she was explaining that she is
just saying goodbye to Shrek, Lord Farquaad told her not to waste time on Shrek because it doesn t
have any feelings. When Fiona turned into an ogre on her

Binaural Beat Research Paper
Our binaural beat brainwave entrainment technology, along with Trans aural sound processing,
combined with encoded subliminal signaling, provides the user with access to an advanced technique
for inducing deep relaxation and to affecting behavioral modification. After approximately five
minutes, the resonant entrainment effect can induce vast areas of the brain to resonate at the same
frequency. The result is dominance in the brain wave pattern at the desired frequency. Increased
endorphin levels have been attributed to the use of binaural beat audio technology; therein, permitting

there are two separate standing waves entraining portions of each hemisphere to the frequency being

meditative and hypnogogic states of consciousness. Brain function is also enhanced through the

Universal Truth In Times Of Hardship
I feel this quote is a universal truth in times of hardship. As each of us goes about our daily lives, it is
easy to forget the things that we normally take for granted. Every luxury, benefit, and relationship
goes unnoticed until an event makes us realize how fortunate we are to have all of these things. This
quote personally resonated with me when I reflect on the situations that I underwent this summer. I
can attest to the truth in this quote with multiple instances of this same recognition. I never realized
the extent of my own blessings until they were taken away from me. This summer when I lost my
grandpa and my dog in a matter of two weeks, it took me a while to comprehend the magnitude.

Essay about A Sociological Study of Timothy Mcveigh

A Sociological Study of Deviance: Oklahoma City Bombing
The Oklahoma City Bombing was a very special event in American history, it was the biggest act of
domestic terrorism until 9/11. The Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building, which was an office complex in
Oklahoma City, was bombed and 168 people were killed. Timothy McVeigh, the subject of my paper,
was behind the bombings, and later executed.
On April 15, 1995 Timothy McVeigh rented a Ryder truck in Herington, Kansas under the alias Robert

WHY DID TIMOTHY MCVEIGH DO THIS?
Timothy Mcveigh s personality can be explained sociologically as being both ritualism and rebellion.
Timothy McVeigh was part of what can be seen as the pinnacle of conformism during the years before
the bombing, the military. McVeigh, by all accounts, was a soldier who won praise by taking orders
very well and following all the rules, his medals won during the Gulf War prove this. However, like
many other people who join the military (gang members, racial nationalists, survivalists) Timothy
McVeigh had perhaps not so patriotic motives for joining. Nowadays people join the military for
reasons other than because they believe in a countries value system, people like McVeigh join for the
military training and knowledge of things like explosives, survival, discipline, etc. They in a way use
the system against itself. At face value Timothy McVeigh did follow the means towards achieving
societies goals, but he wanted nothing to do with the ends. He saw himself as a freedom fighter whose
destiny was to overthrow the US Government.
McVeigh, before joining the military, already had a long history in the survivalist movement. The
Survivalist movement is well known by the federal government for its anti government activities and
beliefs, McVeigh shared these beliefs and was set off after the

What s so Amazing About Grace Book Report Essay

What s So Amazing about Grace? Book Report What s So Amazing about Grace? is a book written by
Philip Yancey. It begins with a twisted story of a prostitute living on the streets. She is unable to feed
her two year old child and has to find another way to earn money. She could not think of any other
alternatives and began selling her child out for prostitution. She could make much more money this
way than she could in one night. The woman began counseling and when asked if she had ever
considered going to church, her response was that attending church would only make her feel worse
about herself. Yancey describes Earth as a place full of ungrace . This is a term that ... Show more

Because Jesus extended grace to all, we should do the same. There are none who are not deserving or
worthy of our grace. This is important for us to remember. It is true that grace does not come easy, and
that it is not necessarily easy to give. Grace is not a small display of kindness; it is a sacrifice and a
gift to others. Just as Jesus gave us the gift of grace by suffering and dying on the cross for us, we
should be able to give gifts of grace at our own expense to others. I very much enjoyed this book and
was spiritually moved by it. I agree with most of what Philip Yancey has to say about lack of grace not
only in the church, but in the world also. In today s day and age, it seems that everyone is in it for
themselves. Most do not take the time of day to stop and give their grace to the needy. It helped to
strengthen my view that all of deserving of grace and that we, as Christians, should be reading to give
our grace to others. While I do support that idea that we need to cure the world of ungrace , I do not
feel that we need to do this in order to earn God s grace. This is a view that Yancey supports in the
book and I do not happen to agree with it. Grace is in fact, a gift and it is not something we have to
earn by giving other s grace. By following God s example, we should also give others this same grace
God gave us, but it is not a requirement in order for us to receive His grace. Overall, I feel spiritually

Harvey Milk Film Analysis
The earliest Gay Rights Organization started in 1924 and has been growing ever since. Homosexuality
was thought of as a mental illness until 1973 when it was removed from the official list of mental

more popular and many people, gay and straight, started respecting and following him more and more.
He was also known because he, lit the fire of today s national and global LGBT civil rights movement.

In the movie, Jack, Luna Diego, had some serious mental health problems. He was Harvey Milk s
significant other and they loved each other so much. During this time being gay along with having
mental health problems was just a natural disaster waiting to occur just like it explains in article 2,
Dustin was gay and to him this meant that he had only two, equally bleak options: to vanish into the
periphery or to commit suicide. (Weigle, 1) Not many people accepted it, and to think someone feels
as if they only have two options because their sexuality is not the norm is insane. People were just
starting to recognize mental health as a sickness and not just as being possessed or something in that
general category. It was looked at more positively than negatively. Being gay, as said in the beginning,
is still not very accepted and Jack having all of this plus dealing with the stress of Harvey s
campaigning and advocacy for Gay Rights just put him over the edge. It really had an effect on Jack s
identity. He probably did not even know who he was anymore. People identified him as gay and
someone with mental health problems and these opinions are what really pushed him to the edge. He
later committed suicide because he could not take on the stress of all that anymore. Another example
from the movie would be Harvey Milk himself. Did being an advocate and fighting for his rights
affect him as a person? Definitely. He had a great relationship with another man before Jack and
before all this campaigning started. That obviously did not last because of

Emily Grierson Patriarchy
Throughout the history of society, specifically during the years prior to the era of feminism, people
have place women as the weaker gender. In literature , there have been many instances where women
have been outshined and neglected by men because their works or contribution s are deemed to be
inferior and noncompliant in the eyes of men. Men are seen as autocratic ruler of a household and thus
they feel it s their responsibility to constantly overlook and protect women due to their inferiority that
society has placed on them, as a result, men feel superior to women. Nevertheless, men are not
mindful of the effects and outcomes of their patriarchal domination on women: depression, losing
touch of reality, isolation, and worst of all, losing their sanity. An example in literature that displays
this type of structure of society where women can become victims of patriarchal conditions takes
place in the short stories A Rose for Emily by William Faulkner and The Yellowpaper by Charlotte
Perkins Gilman. Both women, the main character Emily Grierson from Faulkner s story and the
narrator from Gilman s story, though they have different circumstances, are similar in a unique way as
they are both held back by the male figures in their households within the patriarchal society, and as a
result, they lose touch within each of their societies and are forced to insanity. Feminists have
described patriarchy as a system of oppression to women. Second wave feminists, who

nationalism and have a very unlike view of it. And they are often highly debated of the origins of
nations and their identity. The root of primordial school is originally based on the German
romanticism and it mainly argues how those fixed factors influence in identity shape process. Those
factors are constantly stable throughout the history and hardly changed. The factors have been passed
on to generations and constructing the identity of people who lives in nowadays. For example,
language is one of these elements. Language is unique and distinct from other ones. People who speak
this language will have their own identity and formed a special group which makes them different
from other language speaking groups. And in primordial school idea, same language speaking group
will result in similar thought. Because of people learn language from the community where they live
and each community will has its thought or behavior. These will transmit to people who learn that
language. Therefore, for primordial school language is one of the key elements in identity shaping.
Another pivotal and principle factor for shaping identity is the kinship. Primordial school argues that
people joining into groups by their blood or genetic relationship with each other. Family members will

Examples Of A Christ Figure In One Flew Over The Cuckoo s...
Though every period of time, people often find themselves looking for a savior. While most people
turn for Jesus Christ or other religious figures, in the novel, One Flew Over the Cuckoo s Nest, by Ken
Kesey, the patients of a strictly run psychiatric ward turn to Randal Patrick McMurphy. Kesey uses
McMurphy to create a Christ Figure, or a character that shows allusions to Christ, in his work. Despite
being a patient, McMurphy finds a way to stand out as a Christ Figure through having his individual
thoughts and actions, rather than shrinking himself to what the ward wants him to be.
Recurringly, authors use direct relations between the new testament and their novel to show proof of a
Christ Figure. Kesey uses events like the fishing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Ellis being nailed in this position that Christ was nailed in shows a direct relation to the novel and also
foreshadows to McMurphy, the Christ Figure, one day being lobotomized and taking on Ellis s traits
of immobility and helplessness. Ellis is also described as like a stuffed trophy (Kesey 16), which once
again shadows how McMurphy s story at the ward will end, sitting in the day room with his name next
to him to be used as an example, another trophy for the nurse.
Another direct relation between Jesus and McMurphy is the first time Chief Bromden, a large indian
man who has pretended to be deaf and dumb for over 15 years, speaks. When Chief speaks, he is alone
with McMurphy. McMurphy gives Chief a piece of gum, and this simple act is what gave Chief the
courage to speak. McMurphy demonstrated his ability to listen to people, and this is what truly made
Chief willing to speak to him. At the end of their conversation, Chief found himself wanting to touch
him because he s who he is. (Kesey 222) By this, we can see that Chief feels McMurphy has healed
him and listened because that is who he is. We also see the relation of healing powers through
believing that a touch can heal you from here

Literature Review Of The Out Of Body Experience
The out of body experience is a phenomenon experienced by a significant percentage of the
population. During this experience, an individual perceives his or her environment from a point of
view that is separate from his or her physical body. In some cases, individuals have reported looking
down upon their own bodies, although Irwin (2000) suggested that the details of the experience may
be determined by the individual s immediate needs. For instance, in a life threatening situation, one
may perceive a paradisal environment (commonly noted in near death experiences). Typically,
psychological processes such as memory, thought, and perception are unified and a separation of these
processes is known as dissociation. Because the out of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During the study, postal questionnaires were completed by 113 university students, including 28 men
and 85 women. These questionnaires were comprised of three surveys. The first brief set of questions
pertained to demographic information and the experience and frequency of out of body experiences.
The second survey was the Dissociative Experiences Scale (DES), which was used to generate scores
regarding both pathological dissociation and nonpathological dissociation (or psychological
absorption). Finally, the Somatoform Dissociation Questionnaire (SDQ 20) was used to measure the
participant s proneness to somatoform dissociation. Within the questionnaires, 44 of the 113
participants reported having had an out of body experience. To determine the relationship between
dissociation and the out of body experience, the explored variables were examined in a logistic
regression analyses. This showed the the SDQ 20 was the only independent variable that was able to
separate the participants who had acknowledged out of body experiences from those who did not.
Additionally, the SDQ 20 was also the only variable that significantly contributed to the prediction of
the frequency of out of body experiences. This, not only suggested that the out of body experience was
related to dissociative phenomena, but also indicated a relationship between somatoform dissociation,
specifically, and out of body experiences. Accordingly,

Romeo s Bravery
Love, the powerful elusive feeling we all search for. Romeo and Juliet s tragic tale signifies what a
person will do for love. Romeo s love for Rosaline heightens and emphasizes his love for Juliet by
contrast. His immense love for Juliet is apparent when compared to the infatuation he had with
Rosaline. Romeo s love for Juliet is far deeper than the childish infatuation he had with Rosaline, his
love makes him braver, more willing to act, and far more distraught at the thought of losing her.
Strengthening the beauty of their love, the effect of Juliet on Romeo s own bravery is decidedly
apparent. It is for Juliet Romeo climbs the wall into the Capulet orchard not for Rosaline. He risks
being caught and killed but his bravery does not waver. Romeo never considered intruding on the
Capulet s property to see Rosaline but for Juliet he has no qualms. His bravery is also displayed in his
willingness to defy his parents. Romeo never considered marrying Rosaline because she was a
Capulet. Contrarily, Romeo is willing to defy his parents and the feud between the families just to be
with Juliet. He casts aside years of prejudice for the woman he loves. Their love is far more believable
when Romeo acts upon it. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Comparison Of The Progressive And Populist Movement
The Progressive and Populist Movements of the Late 19th and early 20th century were both
movements that sought to give specific groups in the population better representation/rights as a
whole. The Populist Movement began due to major economic changes brought on by the railroad.
Farmers could no longer make a living selling their crops due to overproduction leading to low prices.
The Populist Party was established in order to promote the economic and political interests of farmers.
One notable member of the Populist Party was William Jennings Bryan, a Presidential candidate who
believed in inflating the money supply and the coinage of silver. The party would go on to create
Granger Laws, laws designed to place government regulations on railroads.

The Renaissance And The Scientific Revolution
the Renaissance, also known as the rebirth, was a cultural movement that started an artistic
transformation and started the scientific revolution. This time period also links the transition from the
end of the Middle Ages to the beginning of the Modern Age. The Renaissance started in Italy in the
14th century and spread to northern Europe by the 16th century.
During the Renaissance artists changed the way they painted and sculpted, they learned how to paint
in all three dimensions, which brought life and realism to their works. Also, getting away from the
religious roots of art created an entirely new type of art that was rich in drama and emotion. This was
also the time period when painting with oils was started.
In this paper I m focusing mainly on Renaissance art work, since that was the assignment, but I feel it
s important to also mention the other important partsof the Renaissance, architecture, science, politics
and religion.

This policy was monumental in the fight of human trafficking because it formalized the overall U.S.
policies through an emphasis on prevention of severe forms of human trafficking, prosecution of

Protection Reauthorization Act of 2003 amended the TVPA of 2000, which directed the President to
launch programs of border interdiction outside the United States by providing grants to foreign NGOs

Antecedent Intervention Strategies Analysis
The two strategies identified are effective strategies. Education has always acknowledged and
recognized the connection between an individual s behavior and their surrounding environment.
Antecedent intervention strategies aim at introducing modifications so that incidents occurring before
the problem occurs are either removed or altered in some way such that they no longer prompt the
problems and can even extend to increasing the likelihoods of the desired behavior (Kern Clemens,
2007). This strategy has several layers, as at the universal level it can focus on organizing the
environment to avert problems and increase motivation. This then creates a safe environment but also
creates a conducive environment which supports learning. This strategy tends to have an instant ...

It also targets specific skills, which means when the teacher is clearly aware of the targeted behaviour
and the objectives of the strategy, which makes it easier for teachers to assess and adapt the strategy.
The other advantage is that the child does experience confusion in understanding the aim of the lesson
and the behaviour that is expected of them. DI not only teaches the child new skills but also provides
the child with several opportunities to review and practice these skills in different settings. Mitchell
(2014) says the plasticity of the developing brain allows children to learn new things when the child
reviews and practices these newly learnt skills and over a period of time gain confidence in using it.
The brain makes new connections to the surviving structure and strengthens the connections. This is
especially important as children in their early years are in their prime to learn specific emotional skills,
which will impact their behavioural skills. Having positive experiences and opportunities to practice
these skills strengthens the experience and enhances the

Saving Time
Time management determines by the difference between successful and unsuccessful people.
Successful people are able to balance the goals they wish to achieve and duties. And this success
comes from their ability to their time optimally in light of their objectives.
There are two types in our lives:
Type I: A difficult time organizing, or managing how much time we spend in our basic needs such as
eating, comfort, family relations and social mission. It is a time cannot use it a lot in what has been
designated a degree of importance to keeping equilibrium in our life.
Type II: Time that can be organized and managed to devote to work, our own lives. Can we take

Sometimes we need rest and break to achieve the goal, so what we do is close the computer, close the
phone, shut down the TV or anything that makes noise. Take a short nap. That gives more energy for
every day. Also sleeping at night is better.
What I understood from these ways is if we want to manage our time well, we have to look for
efficacy and efficiencies.
Efficacy: to perform work properly and reach the desired result.
Efficiency: the performance of work in the right way and getting to the desired result, but with
minimal effort, time and cost. we need to profit and Exploit marginal times, times between
commitments and actions (such as: the use of the car, waiting at the doctor, travel, waiting for meals,
expected visitors). We must know How we spend time, then decompose and identify times marginal,
and develop a plan of operation to benefit them as much as possible. Also do not give up urgent for the
things unnecessary. According to Cameron Chapman bellow are sixteen tips to help us better
managing our time:
1) Get organized.
2) Separate work Space from Everything Else Space.
3) Take advantage of time

Women In Career And Technical Education
In the early nineteenth century Career and Technical Education (CTE) was aimed towards the male
population. The role of a woman was to be a home maker. Most households could not afford an
education for the females in the home. Women who could afford to be educated were instructed in
more artistic and moral subjects, to keep them busy and prepare them for being a respectable parent.
As men were sent off to war, women began to play a bigger role outside of the home. The Civil War
utilized women as government clerks and soon industrial jobs became available too. Later wars, like
World War I and II, saw women not just sewing but in munitions plants as well. Unfortunately, women
were paid at much lower rates than their male counterparts. The government realized there was a need
for educating the female population and the Smith Hughes Act of 1917 included home economics. ...

What The Bourgeoisie Essay
Title: What the bourgeoisie...produces...is its own grave diggers. Its fall and the victory of the
proletariat are equally inevitable. Consider this statement with reference to the pattern of class struggle
that Marx sees appearing under capitalism.
Through my analysis of Marx and Engel s The Communist Manifesto I have come to somewhat agree
with their view that in the end the Proletariat always come out on top. It seems to me that it is nothing
but a vicious circle . Marx comments that through our history there has always been evidence of two
classes, in other words: the rich and the poor, he makes the claim that there has forever been the server

Marx discusses in this piece the ever changing nature of systems, from the Feudal system to the
manufacturing system to the Industrial system, The feudal system of industry...now no longer
sufficed...The manufacturing system took it s place...Thereupon, steam and machinery revolutionised
industrial production. (D.Mclellan, Marx, OUP 1977) pg 223. Therefore the middle man was cut out,
he was no longer important, the division between the powerful and powerless grew to become much
more. The place of manufacture was taken by the giant, Modern Industry, the place of the industrial
middle class, by industrial millionaires, the leaders of the whole industrial armies, the modern
bourgeois.
Marx, in my opinion alludes that the Bourgeois have ruined many of the more caring and loving parts
of our society. The family is an institution that has been present for many centuries, people associate
the family as the core of a person s development, the way a person is brought up essentially shapes the
rest of one s life, the person one become, the way one live one s life and the way in which one s
relationships develop in adult life. The bourgeoisie has torn away from the family its sentimental veil,
and has reduced the family relation to a mere money relation. (D.Mclellan, Marx, OUP 1977) pg 224.

The Wife s Lament And The Seafarer
In the Anglo Saxon epic poems The Wife s Lament, The Wanderer, and The Seafarer, the authors
make their poetry much more interesting and enjoyable by inserting literary devices that add meaning
and cohesiveness to each line. Each poem contains multiple literary devices such as kennings,
caesuras, and imagery. These tools work together in order to add mood and transparency to the poetry.
The Wife s Lament, translated by Ann Standford, uses numerous literary devices to convey the pain
and emotion of an exiled wife. The author of the poem uses a metaphor to compare the cave the wife
has moved into to an empty hall, under an oak tree in this den in the earth. / Ancient this earth hall.
(Stanford 28 9). Comparing the cave to an empty hall shows the loneliness and isolation the
abandoned wife is feeling. Another device used by the author in The Wife s Lament is juxtaposition.

Labor Unions Essays
In this essay I ll write about union membership, membership trends, the two types and levels, and the
importance of unions. I ll also discuss some of the negative sides of unionization in corporate America
today.
Labor unions are groups or clubs of workers and employees who bond together to get good conditions,
fair pay, and fair hours for their labor. These unions are usually joined together, and most unions in
America are some branch of the largest labor union organization in the United States, the AFL CIO
with thirteen million members.
One of the largest unions is the Teamsters Union, formed in 1903, and perhaps the most contentious,
union with 1.3 million members, were expelled from the AFL CIO, in 1957. The labor organization
grew ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of the reasons for the decline was the loss of jobs in manufacturing, which was the labor s biggest
stronghold. America has lost three million factory jobs over the past four years. The second reason is
heavily unionized industries have been decreasing. Other reasons are many firms have moved from
the unionized to the not so unionized Southeast and Southwest region and they tend to hire nonunion
workers. Some of the American companies have moved their manufacturing process to other countries
where very few unionized labor is employed. The management of the companies is providing benefits
that include higher wages and better working conditions, therefore employees don t need to join any
union. The largest growths in employment take place in the service industries, and these industries
regularly are not unionized.
The two main types of unions are craft unions and industrial unions. Craft unions are organizations of
workers with similar skills. This type of union can maintain control over the supply of skilled laborers;
often work for multiple employers in a year. (e.g. construction unions, pilot unions)
Industrial unions are organized by industry which originally started b/c ineligible for craft unions and
typically work for one employer for long period. (e.g. steelworkers, auto workers)
Unions often have several levels which are; local: workers in plant or industry in a limited
geographical area (Buhler union was CAW local 2224), national: larger union

Abstract
Money has a huge impact on us as individuals, changing our behaviour and the way we view others.
In order to see how great of an effect money has a study was conducted involving participants
recruited from Psyc106 classes. Participants partook in an experiment requiring them to complete a
task which involved money priming. Half the students were exposed to words associated with money
while the other group were used as a control group, being exposed to neutral words only. Following
this task, participants were asked to complete a survey which would help determine whether or not
money priming had any effect on their way of thinking or behaviour. The results found that money
priming in fact had no effect on the person s behaviour, and any variances were mainly due to the
difference in opinions of males and females.

1984 Marxist Analysis

A class struggle between two economic divisions is not just about the distinction and conflict but also
the ideology of dominance that the have s has set on the have not s . The most general way of
understanding economic structure within a literary work is to apply the Marxist Literary Theory.
Marxism is based on the philosophy of Karl Marx, which follows the idea that life within an economic
system is the struggle between social classes. The literary criticism is based on the belief that
historical social and economic conditions determine literary works. Marxist literary theory examines a

To further explain, the Party entrenches the ideology to remain unquestioned by those capable of
recognizing oppression. According to the Party s slogan, who controls the present controls the past
(Orwell 37). Based on Marxist Literary belief, historical conditions determine human thought, as mind
is a product of it historical influences. The Party dominates their people because history is rewritten in
their favor. As a result, they will remain in power because their people s consciences will
automatically stay devoted under the party without questioning due to insufficient evidence to prove
otherwise. In addition, the Party is also able to prevent rebellion by instilling doublethink into their
people s mind. The technique convinces the brain to believe something to be true when it is not, for
example, 2 + 2 = 5 . The party is successful in maintaining its power due to the practice of doublethink
in which the proletariats are incapable of questioning their position in life: To a Party member it
means loyal willingness to say black is white when the Party discipline demand this (Orwell 221).
Orwell s use of doublethink displays an extreme form of false consciousness. Marxism describes false
consciousness as the inability of the human mind to see things, especially during an exploitation or
oppression for they fail to

Letters on England by Voltaire
Letters on England is a small collection of letters written by Voltaire (born François Marie Arouet) in
1733 which offers a survey of societal England from the view of a Frenchmen. The original Letters on
England, titled Lettres philosophiques, was written in English by Voltaire. This first edition was quite
a cumbersome read and so in 1980 Leonard Tancock retranslated the book to English from a previous
French edition. Just a few years prior to the release of Letters on England, Voltaire had been
imprisoned by France and then exiled to England. This incarceration and banishment was in response
to satirical compositions written by Voltaire that the French political powers felt undermined their

In addition to insights on religion, Voltaire also detailed his own understanding of the politics and
economics in Europe during the time of the Enlightenment. During this time, an absolute monarchy
ruled France while the English had what Voltaire saw as a limited monarch with an involved
democracy. France was ruled using bribery, force, and corruption while England was governed though
compromise and negotiations. Voltaire himself believed in political moderation and defense of civil
liberties. He also observed the differences in economics between the two countries. Free trade was
discouraged in France, to the point that some noblemen lost their rank if they participated in such
commerce. Contrasting this, Voltaire saw that the English encouraged trade and tradesmen were even
held in high regards. He believed that this difference in economics was what gave England access to

The Principles and Practice of Moist Wound Healingg
The Principles and Practice of Moist Wound Healing
Abstract
Caring for patients with wounds is commonly encountered in a nurse s career in most health care
settings, whether it is in neonatal, mental health, community, or aged care. In the past, wound
dressings were created to absorb all exudate, believing that dry wounds will reduce the risk of
infection. Within the last fifty years, the concept of moist wound therapy has become the most
effective approach to wound care. Before treating any wound, it is important to discover the
underlying cause and consider other possible factors that may impact on the healing process and
deliver a systematic and rational approach towards wound care assessment. Nurses must have a basic
understanding of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Describing the overall appearance of the wound is necessary to classify it (Brown amp; Edwards, 200,
p.223). Open wounds can be found in pressure ulcers that involve the skin separating apart, whilst
closed wounds the skin is held together mainly by sutures [FIGURE 1 page 3] (Dealey amp; Cameron,
2008, p.68). Identifying the aetiology correctly also determine if the wound is either acute or chronic
and what depth of the tissue is affected (Brown amp; Edwards, 2008, p.227).

Female Genitalia Mutilation ( Fgm )
Female Circumcision: Female Genitalia Mutilation As a nursing student in my first experience
working in a labor ward, I witnessed a lady birthing a baby with part of the birth canal scarred and
narrow due to her circumcision at puberty. To say that the birthing process was hard to watch is an
understatement. As the labor progressed with no sight of the baby coming out naturally, she was
offered a C section, which she vehemently turned down. She said, I don t want to be the joke of my
peers. I have to do it like others did it. Watching this, made me more curious and passionate to find the
origin of this practice and hopefully, educate the practitioners leading to its eradication. Some may
argue that the after effects of female genital mutilation (FGM) are not new. I hope that my research
into the origin of this practice will help the public health community understand how it can help these
women and eradicate this practice. For everything that has a beginning, most of the time, has an end.
Delancer (2015) presenting a speech to The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights
(UNHCHR) on traditions that hurt women states that: Most women in developing countries are
unaware of their basic human rights. It is this state of ignorance which ensures their acceptance and
consequently, the perpetuation of harmful traditional practices affecting their well being and that of
their children. Even when women acquire a degree of economic and political awareness, they often

Shrew Comedic Devices
Comedic devices have helped develop the plot and comedy of The Taming of the Shrew. It has shown
how a shrew can be changed with the same treatment as it has given. These devices help you stay
attentive to the story and wonder how Petruchio is going to eventually tame Katharina. The plot
develops with incidents as family drama, clever witty language, and unexpected plot twists. All of this
forms a story of which a woman is changed dramatically with one man of whom she was wed too with
no choice. A popular comedic device used in Taming of the Shrew would be family drama. Katharina
hasn t been able to find a husband that suits her but also no man wants to be with her. Bianca is her
younger sister of which wants to marry but cannot ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During the poem a character, Grumio, has gotten closer to Bianca (Katharina s sister). He is also

Katharina is getting her dress tailored Grumio and the tailor think it is perfect on her but Petruchio
argues otherwise. Here, GRUMIO I confess two sleeves. Tailor [Reads] The sleeves curiously cut.
PETRUCHIO Ay, there s the villany. GRUMIO Error i the bill, sir; error i the bill. I commanded the
sleeves should be cut out and sewed up again; and that I ll prove upon thee, though thy little finger be
armed in a thimble.(Act 4, Scene 3). Obviously again both Grumio and the tailor thinks the dress
looks great but Petruchio thinks it looks villany . This is a comedic device because they are seriously
only arguing over what is wrong with this dress that looks gorgeous on

Characteristics Of Myer-Briggs Personality
This paper explores the personality traits of the Myer Briggs personality INFJ. Research for this
assignment was conducted using the text book, the internet, and my personal account. While
completing this project I gained a better sense of self and an individual, leader, and worker. It is my
hope that this project can be used as a resource for others who have the same personality type as
myself. Step 1 INFJ INFJ is my personality type. Upon finding my personality type I engulfed myself
into finding any information available. What I discovered was that my strong sense of intuition is what
I allow to lead my decisions. I also found confirmation that, I enjoy my alone time, I follow my
passion, and I do not agree in doing things for the sake of doing them. This was extremely insightful,
and although I know who I am it was enlightening to see research that explained who I was and why I
act the way that I do. Life examples Growing up I was never shy, but I never felt the need to be the
center of attention. However, when it was time to step up to the plate, I was always able to do so with
ease. Often times my lack of shyness would leave my peers surprised that I was so good at certain
things, because they never heard me talking much of myself. This transferred over to the work place
as well. Up until recently I have been a classroom teacher. On several occasions my principals would
disclose that they were shocked that I was so energetic. When I am in meetings I would not speak
unless I had something meaningful to say. As a result, I think that would cause others to assume that I
was one of low energy and unable to fulfil request that required a lot of speaking. Strengths and
weaknesses Having a strong sense of self is a characteristic of my personality type. I take pride in my
self awareness. In addition, I enjoy having a strong intuition. I believe that this has aided me in
making smart decisions in life, at work, and in general. I feel the best thing about self awareness is
you are not easily offended when you are misunderstood. An example of this at work happened when
there was a disagreement between myself and my boss. She began to say a lot of derogatory
statements to me. While it was hurtful

Challenges Of Esperanza Rising
Imagine starting over your entire life right now. Everything you built up and maintained gone, you d
be an immigrant. ¨Do not be afraid to start over These words don t only apply to stories, they apply to
immigrants Esperanza Ortega from Esperanza Rising, by Pam Munoz Ryan, also had to start her life
over. Esperanza was a rich girl in mexico who had to move to california, and do hard labor after a
tragic accident from bandits. Esperanza faced many challenges, however the two challenges that were
the worst were Mama having valley fever and having to learn how to do chores.
One of Esperanzas challenges was having to deal with Mama having valley. Mama had never been in
a dust storm, so she gained a somewhat lethal sickness. A sickness that can lead to death can affect
someone in a negative way and Esperanza had to deal with this new sickness Mama had. Valley fever

like Mama. Esperanza heard the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

could work, I told Mama I could help. But I can not even wash cloths or even sweep a floor. Does the
whole camp know¨ This quote how difficult a chore could be to Esperanza, and when Esperanza said
oes the whole camp know¨ she shows that that not being able to do basic chores can affect someone s
personality and outlook towards people as well as negatively affecting their reputation. This challenge
was very mentally challenging and was not the only challenge she faced during the time, however this

Montana 1948 By Larry Watson
That night the jars began to break (151). The novel Montana 1948, written by Larry Watson is a book
about family and tragedy. The Hayden name is popular in Bentrock. David Hayden is a young boy
who was taken for an adventure one summer when his sheriff of a dad, Wes, was informed of his
brother sexually assaulting his patients. Family is important, but morals are what drive your actions.
Instead of putting Frank in a jail cell that was across the street from the house Wes decided to put him
in the basement. It was a moral struggle to keep Frank in the basement. The Hayden name is popular
in the city of Bentrock. People will do drastic things in order to keep the good reputation that comes
with their name. Keeping Frank in the basement was a testament to Wes s morals. Constant pressure
from Wes s father, Julian, created a rift in Wes s emotions. My God. My God, boy. Stop this now. Stop
this before I have to (122), Julian demanded to his son. Julian pleaded for him to stop the nonsense
and to let Frank go. During hard times, family can create emotions that cause people to act out of
moral character. Wes was pressured by his father to let his brother go and to stop the legal action
against him. Going against his fathers ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
You don t think I wish it could be some other way? (150). Wes is full of emotions during the whole
process. Shock is a big characteristic that comes when one discovers startling news. Memories started
to flood Wes s head as he investigated more and more of the situation. He s my brother we grew up
together, sucked the same tit! (150) Wes exclaimed as pressure mounted. Even though memories were
filling Wes s head and the fact that it is indeed his brother that he is investigating he knows that he has
to keep going. The fact that Frank is his brother is not enough for Wes to abandon his moral feeling
and leave the situation

Weinstein Sexual Harassment
On October 5th, The New York Times released an article revealing sexual harassment allegations
against Harvey Weinstein, in which multiple women, including famous actresses, came forward
accusing Weinstein of sexual assault. On October 8th, the Weinstein Company fired Weinstein, who
later resigned from the company s board on October 17th. Dozens of women in Hollywood have since
come out to speak against Weinstein, including Angelina Jolie and Gwyneth Paltrow with specific
incidents of harassment. Other actresses, such as Meryl Streep and Judi Dench have spoken out
against the treatment of women in Hollywood, though they did not have any incidents with Weinstein.
The issue has expanded out of Hollywood, with women around the country sharing ... Show more

Women should never be forced to face sexual harassment for fear of losing their jobs. The shocking
fact of the entire situation is how well known this secret was in Hollywood. And it begs the question:
how do you separate art from the artist? Harvey Weinstein has produced some of the most
extraordinary films of all time, but that doesn t excuse his actions. Reports of sexual harassment
allegations against men in the film industry are incredibly common these days, but does that mean we
need to completely disregard the films they ve made? It s hard to appreciate someone s work in the
same way after learning about a sexual harassment charge against them, but movies are made by
thousands of people, and should all their work be disregarded because of one person s actions? It s
difficult to find the line at where to judge people, because artists aren t the same as their art, but we
should still acknowledge their past mistakes. While it s terrible that something so horrific had to
happen to bring this to the attention of the media, it brings hope for the future. For the first time,
women are being listened to. People are finally being held accountable for their actions, and while it s
hard to acknowledge that this has been a well kept secret for decades, it s created a community where
women are able to share their personal

  • 2. Theory, Computer Science And Axiomatizations Of Set Theory Set Theory, Computer Science and axiomatizations of Set Theory Prashant Sharma MATH419 D001 Sum 15 American Military University Instructor Mehrdad Mahmoudi Zarandi Abstract This paper contains the brief introduction of Set theory which included the definition, origination, history and modernization of set theory and mathematical field related to it. The main focus of this paper will be on the application of set theory in different discipline. Set Theory, Computer Science and axiomatizations of Set Theory Mathematics is the study of numbers, and counting, and measuring, but that is only the beginning. Mathematics involves the study of number patterns and relationships. Set theory is an area of mathematics that deals with inconceivable numbers, and bottomless concepts such as infinity. The history of set theory is relatively dissimilar from the history of most other parts of mathematics. Set Theory was founded by Georg Cantor in 1874 in his paper On a Characteristics Property of All Real Algebraic Numbers . Naive set theory is fun, and as we saw with Cantor s diagonalization, it can produce some incredibly beautiful results. But as we ve seen before, in the simple world of naive set theory, it s easy to run into trouble, in the form of Russell s paradox and a variety of related problems. The sake of completeness, Russell s paradox concerns the set R={s | s ∉ s}. Is R∈R? If R∈R, then by the definition of R∉R. But by definition, if R∉R, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I strive for the things I want in life, and do what it takes to accomplish my goals. There are multiple categories I particularly focus on for my own benefits such as, where I have chosen to attend college and the field I portray interest in majoring, how athletics have impacted my life, and the reflection of who I have been throughout my seventeen years of life. When analyzing those topics, I reflect on my past and use it as a reference for how I would like my future to turn out. Throughout my life, I have had the ability to move over thirteen times, attend nine schools, and engage in the world s diversity and different scenery when doing so.[E. Real life] Ultimately when traveling and moving to various places, fashion has been the one thing that tends to catch my eye. Between both traveling and fashion I have chosen to major in International Business and become a buyer for fashion. Why do I admire fashion so much? I believe fashion is showing who you are without the expression of voice. Being able to have the ability to travel around the world selecting and purchasing various pieces of clothing, and trying to sell the items to large retailers by using my voice of persuasion excites me.[DT: Question and Answer] I can t change the direction of the wind, but I can adjust my sails to always reach my destination Jimmy ... • 4. Analysis Of The Novel Franny And Zooey By J.d. Salinger Human life is a blend of myriad of emotions. Our emotions add facets to our humanity they give us dimensions and make us the social, emotional and intellectual beings we are. People go through both good and rough times. While some persevere through these times, some crack and acquire fissures. In the novella Franny and Zooey by J.D. Salinger, Franny Glass is undergoing a similar identity and existential crisis which severely derails her life. Disenchanted by the superficiality of the world surrounding her, Franny embarks on a process of purgation, distancing herself from the world along the way. Franny s folly in assuming that the change she is looking for can only be achieved by detaching herself from her life, the things that matter the most to her, starting anew, shows her dogmatic approach to self purification. In seeking union with reality which is what the mystical experience is, she leaves the reality of her life behind herself, resulting in her ending up stranded in a perilous path of self questioning. Franny Glass is on a journey of self discovery. Driven by the notion that everything and everyone she knows is selfish and phony, Franny tries to imitate a life of seclusion and monastic living. She is influenced by her brother Seymour s way of life, his philosophies and the book The Way of A Pilgrim she finds on his desk. The book recounts the story of a Russian monk who goes around ceaselessly saying the name of God in hopes of connecting more closely with ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

False confession is also defined and discussed. A variety of race and cultures are included, focusing primarily on African American and Caucasian individuals. Police interrogation can be persuasive in many ways and effects the potential suspect physiologically and psychologically. Considering the discussed effects of police interrogation, the PEACE model technique seems to be the most persuasive technique of police interrogation. The PEACE model technique is preferred more among police and among the different studies. The EFFECT OF PERSUASION 3 The Effect of Persuasion in Police Interrogation and False Confession In January 1988 Michael Crow, a caucasian boy who is fourteen years old, confessed to murdering his older sister in their childhood home. Crow was interrogated for ten hours when he eventually admitted to a crime he did not commit. Through his interrogation, Crow showed signs of distress. When Crow would say that he had a feeling he killed his sister the interrogator went along with what Crow said and tried to get an even greater confession out of him by being coercive and confrontational. • 6. Relationship Between The Old And New Testament Relationship between the Old and New Testament The relationship of the Old Testament and the New Testament has been the cause for a series of debates for many generations. In some cases, the Bible is believed to be just a random assortment of individual scrolls brought together in no precise fashion and for no particular reason, with the Old and New Testament being completely separated from one another, this is of course false. The Bible is, as a whole, the given Word of God brought together by a variety of human authors under the Divine Inspiration of the One True Divine Author, God Himself. Similarly, the Old Testament should not be neglected and replaced by the New Testament, as the New Testament is deeply rooted within the Old Testament and the Old Testament is brought into full manifestation, through Jesus Christ, within the New Testament. Therefore, the New Testament cannot exist without the Old Testament and the Old Testament cannot become fulfilled without the New Testament. Throughout the world, in many different religions, the Bible is used as a guide for life during our time on earth, however, some have taken it upon themselves to edit the Word of God and remove parts of scripture that they believe to be false or irrelevant. The Catholic Church understands that the Bible exists without error, because of God s intervention and inspiration during its development, and that we are to accept and become educated on all parts of the Bible in order to ... She could make much more money this way than she could in one night. Grace is not a small display of kindness; it is a sacrifice and a gift to others. Just as Jesus gave us the gift of grace by suffering and dying on the cross for us, we should be able to give gifts of grace at our own expense to others. I very much enjoyed this book and was spiritually moved by it. I agree with most of what Philip Yancey has to say about lack of grace not only in the church, but in the world also. In today s day and age, it seems that everyone is in it for themselves. Most do not take the time of day to stop and give their grace to the needy. It helped to strengthen my view that all of deserving of grace and that we, as Christians, should be reading to give our grace to others. While I do support that idea that we need to cure the world of ungrace , I do not feel that we need to do this in order to earn God s grace. This is a view that Yancey supports in the book and I do not happen to agree with it. Grace is in fact, a gift and it is not something we have to earn by giving other s grace. By following God s example, we should also give others this same grace God gave us, but it is not a requirement in order for us to receive His grace. Overall, I feel spiritually strengthened by ... • 18. Emily Grierson Patriarchy Throughout the history of society, specifically during the years prior to the era of feminism, people have place women as the weaker gender. In literature , there have been many instances where women have been outshined and neglected by men because their works or contribution s are deemed to be inferior and noncompliant in the eyes of men. Men are seen as autocratic ruler of a household and thus they feel it s their responsibility to constantly overlook and protect women due to their inferiority that society has placed on them, as a result, men feel superior to women. Nevertheless, men are not mindful of the effects and outcomes of their patriarchal domination on women: depression, losing touch of reality, isolation, and worst of all, losing their sanity. An example in literature that displays this type of structure of society where women can become victims of patriarchal conditions takes place in the short stories A Rose for Emily by William Faulkner and The Yellowpaper by Charlotte Perkins Gilman. Both women, the main character Emily Grierson from Faulkner s story and the narrator from Gilman s story, though they have different circumstances, are similar in a unique way as they are both held back by the male figures in their households within the patriarchal society, and as a result, they lose touch within each of their societies and are forced to insanity. The root of primordial school is originally based on the German romanticism and it mainly argues how those fixed factors influence in identity shape process. • 25. Romeo s Bravery Love, the powerful elusive feeling we all search for. Romeo and Juliet s tragic tale signifies what a person will do for love. Romeo s love for Rosaline heightens and emphasizes his love for Juliet by contrast. His immense love for Juliet is apparent when compared to the infatuation he had with Rosaline. Romeo s love for Juliet is far deeper than the childish infatuation he had with Rosaline, his love makes him braver, more willing to act, and far more distraught at the thought of losing her. Strengthening the beauty of their love, the effect of Juliet on Romeo s own bravery is decidedly apparent. It is for Juliet Romeo climbs the wall into the Capulet orchard not for Rosaline. He risks being caught and killed but his bravery does not waver. Romeo never considered intruding on the Capulet s property to see Rosaline but for Juliet he has no qualms. His bravery is also displayed in his willingness to defy his parents. Romeo never considered marrying Rosaline because she was a Capulet. Contrarily, Romeo is willing to defy his parents and the feud between the families just to be with Juliet. He casts aside years of prejudice for the woman he loves. Comparison Of The Progressive And Populist Movement The Progressive and Populist Movements of the Late 19th and early 20th century were both movements that sought to give specific groups in the population better representation/rights as a whole. The Populist Movement began due to major economic changes brought on by the railroad. Farmers could no longer make a living selling their crops due to overproduction leading to low prices. The Populist Party was established in order to promote the economic and political interests of farmers. One notable member of the Populist Party was William Jennings Bryan, a Presidential candidate who believed in inflating the money supply and the coinage of silver. The Renaissance And The Scientific Revolution the Renaissance, also known as the rebirth, was a cultural movement that started an artistic transformation and started the scientific revolution. This time period also links the transition from the end of the Middle Ages to the beginning of the Modern Age. The Renaissance started in Italy in the 14th century and spread to northern Europe by the 16th century. During the Renaissance artists changed the way they painted and sculpted, they learned how to paint in all three dimensions, which brought life and realism to their works. Also, getting away from the religious roots of art created an entirely new type of art that was rich in drama and emotion. This was also the time period when painting with oils was started. In this paper I m focusing mainly on Renaissance art work, since that was the assignment, but I feel it s important to also mention the other important partsof the Renaissance, architecture, science, politics and religion. Education has always acknowledged and recognized the connection between an individual s behavior and their surrounding environment. Antecedent intervention strategies aim at introducing modifications so that incidents occurring before the problem occurs are either removed or altered in some way such that they no longer prompt the problems and can even extend to increasing the likelihoods of the desired behavior (Kern Clemens, 2007). Most households could not afford an education for the females in the home. Women who could afford to be educated were instructed in more artistic and moral subjects, to keep them busy and prepare them for being a respectable parent. As men were sent off to war, women began to play a bigger role outside of the home. The Civil War utilized women as government clerks and soon industrial jobs became available too. Later wars, like World War I and II, saw women not just sewing but in munitions plants as well. Unfortunately, women were paid at much lower rates than their male counterparts. America has lost three million factory jobs over the past four years. The second reason is heavily unionized industries have been decreasing. Other reasons are many firms have moved from the unionized to the not so unionized Southeast and Southwest region and they tend to hire nonunion workers. Some of the American companies have moved their manufacturing process to other countries where very few unionized labor is employed. The management of the companies is providing benefits that include higher wages and better working conditions, therefore employees don t need to join any union. The largest growths in employment take place in the service industries, and these industries regularly are not unionized. The two main types of unions are craft unions and industrial unions.
