Peter Timler, West-Cascadia Consultants, explores ‘Reducing the Cost of Project Change’ at the AVEVA World Summit 2016, New Orleans. Peter shares and reviews 3 different Project Cases and demonstrates all projects were only possible due to the model-centric information delivery process that had been conceptualized, researched, tested and developed by AVEVA technology.Find out more how AVEVA can transform your business >> www.aveva.com
This presentation was given as part of the CCS Ready workshop which was held in association with the 6th Asia Clean Energy Forum (20 – 24 June, Manila)
The workshop discussed the range of measures and best practices that can be implemented to prompt the design, permitting and construction of CCS projects when designing or building a new fossil fuelled energy or industrial plant.
Alice Gibson’s presentation provided a summary of CCS Ready and the proposed definition as well as an explanation of the necessary regulatory and economic drivers required to implement CCS ready.

Nippon Dragon Resources Inc. Hard rock revolution has arrived!Nick Vukovich
Nippon Dragon Resources Inc. Hard rock revolution has arrived! Nippon Dragon Resources Inc. is without a doubt one of the most innovative junior mining companies operating today. The Company’s patented “thermal fragmentation” process is ideal for high grade precious/base metal vein deposits. The exploitation of high-grade precious/base metal veins with its exclusive thermal fragmentation process coupled with conventional mining methods will lead the Company in becoming a mid-size gold producer.
Nippon Dragon’s growth strategy is to focus on the development of quality assets that will significantly enhance shareholder value. The acquisition, development and future exploration activities at the Rocmec 1 (Abitibi, Qc, Canada) property is an excellent example of this strategy.
'The Digital Fleet' by Carl Toner from Southern CompanyAVEVA Group plc
Carl Toner from Southern Company, discusses the Digital Fleet Initiative at the AVEVA World Summit 2016, New Orleans.
The newly formed Performance Improvement Team was tasked with 3 objectives: leverage people, improve process and apply the right technology to address the challenge. As a result, Southern undertook the transition from the document to data-driven organisation using AVEVA Integrated Engineering and Design (IE&D) solution.

Produced Water Handling System UpgradeBrian Thomas
General description of the application is discussed, along with IES performance of all engineering, design, programming, control panel fabrication, electrical construction, and construction of an electrical equipment building for this produced water handling system upgrade. Project consisted of the addition of a water separation and induced static flotation vessels, and eight 450 HP, 4,000 gpm water transfer pumps controlled by VFDs. Electrical and control system consisted of dual 12 kV services, a 12 kV Automatic Transfer Switch, 12 kV transformers, 480 V switch gear with manual transfer scheme, ControlLogix PAC’s and RIO control panels communicating using Ethernet/IP over a fiber DLR network, a Wonderware/ArchestrA SCADA system.
