2. Don Benito is situated in the south-west
of Spain, in Extremadura, near Portugal. It is in
the High Meadow of the river Guadiana, in the
province of Badajoz. It has got a population of
38,000 inhabitants.
Its climate is subtropical. Winters are
mild and summers are dry and hot..
In the centre and in the north of
Extremadura, plains and mountains are the most
common geographical features.

18. Juan Donoso Cortés, Marquess of Valdegamas, was a
very important thinker, politician and Spanish writer in
the 19th century.
19. The school was built during the school year 1955-56. The
current building was opened in 1967.
