Our school is a small rural school in Bilgoraj, Poland with 1300 total students. It offers a wide range of academic and extracurricular opportunities including learning 2-3 foreign languages, help preparing for competitions, trips abroad, and clubs in nature, UNESCO, student government, and more. The school has computer labs, a library, gymnasiums, and ranks highly among Polish schools for its students' success in subject contests and competitions.

2. OUR SCHOOL
Our school is fairly small (200 students aged
13-16) with total number of students
amounting to about 1300. It is located in a
rural town of Bilgoraj (30,000 inhabitants).
The official name of our institution is Zespol
Szkol Ogolnokształcacych, which is actually a
set of two schools: upper secondary school
and lower secondary school. The latter was
created due to changes in the
educational system and students
and parents’ interest in
studying at our school.

3. The prestige, high level of education, very good conditions, wide range of
possibilities to develop both intellectually and physically distinguish our
school from other schools in the whole area. As a result, our school is
generally chosen by clever, ambitious young people who are ready to
study and demand a lot from themselves.
At the school students can:
-learn 2-3 foreign languages out of 7: English, German, French, Russian,
Italian, Spanish or Latin
-learn foreign languages in small language groups
-have professional help with preparations for subject contests and
competitions
-benefit from cooperation with universities: Maria Curie-Skłodowska
University (UMCS) in Lublin and Biłgoraj, AGH University of Science and
Technology in Kraków, which invite our students to their lectures and
classes
-exchange trips abroad to sister schools in France and Germany.

4. In order to enable our students to develop
universally our school offers various forms
of extra – curricular activities. These are:
clubs and school organisations such as
League of Nature Protection, UNESCO
Club, Student Government, Book Fans'
Club, European School Club, School Red
Cross Club, Voluntary Organization, Scouts
Team, Students' Cooperative, UFO -
Students Fund of Education, clubs of
students interests broadening their
knowledge in particular subjects, shooting
and sports activities, trips to Zakopane to
"White school" and to Mazurian lakes to “
Sailing school”. There are also bicycle
rides and hikes, journalistic and dancing
activities, cooperation with the Youth
Community Center in Bilgoraj, regional
newspaper "Nowa" and Cable TV.

5. Students can also use: computer labs, a library
with impressive book collection, including over
2000 books in the English language, the Internet
access, a shooting range, three gyms, a dormitory
and a canteen. Students can also get
professional help from our school counsellor.
The great success of our school is that it has a
high position in the rankings of the best schools in
Poland which have at least two laureates or
finalists of subject contests. In 2011 our school got
the ranking of 76th place, from among over 6
thousand classified institutions and the 1st place
in our region.

6. The prestige of our school is
mainly achieved by success of
the students who take part in
subject contests and in all -
Poland competitions and
regional preliminaries.
Moreover, our students’
achievements in
basketball, volleyball, handball,
swimming and athletics
competitons are also the great
pride of the school.
