SUBJECT: TRIDIMENSIONAL REPRESENTATION

THE «PAVILLION FOR THE NEW YORK FAIR» (LUCIO
COSTA/OSCAR NIEMEYER - 1938) IS AN IMPORTANT
BUILDING FROM THE 20TH CENTURY, BECAUSE OF
ITS SIGNIFICANCE IN THE BRAZILIAN HISTORY OF
MODERN ARCHITECTURE.
THE IDEA OF MODELING THIS BUILDING WAS
TO UNDERSTAND THE COMPLEXITY AND BEAUTY OF
THIS PROJECT.

SUBJECT: PROJECT I

THE ACADEMIC CENTER WAS THE FIRST DEVELOPED
PROJECT. IT WAS BASED ON THE WORK OF VILANOVA
ARTIGAS (ONE OF THE REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
BRAZILIAN MODERN ARCHITECTURE MOVEMENT).THE
BULDING RESTORES SOME IMPORTANT ELEMENTS OF
ARTIGA'S ARCHITECTURE.FOR INSTANCE THE
HORIZONTALITY, THE COMPOSITION WITH DIFFERENT
LEVELS INSIDE THE BUILDING, AND THE USE OF
<<COBOGO>> (AN ELEMENT THAT PROTECTS THE BUILDING
FROM DIRECT SUNLIGHT).                                  SKETCH view from the NORTHWEST
ON THE FIRST FLOOR OF THE WEST BLOCK THERE IS A
KITCHEN, TOILETS AND A LIVING ROOM. ON THE SECOND
FLOOR IS AN ATELIER. ON THE EAST BLOCK THERE ARE
THREE MEETING ROOMS FOR EACH COURSE.

SUBJECT: PROJECT II

THIS PROJECT IS A PROPOSAL OF AN OPEN SCHOOL
WITH AN ORGANIC DESIGN THAT HAS THE OBJECTIVE
OF EXPLORING THE CRIATIVITY OF THE STUDENTS.
THE SPIRAL WAS INTRODUCED ON THE PLAN USING
THE GEOMETRY WITH THE GOLDEN NUMBER. THE
FOLLOWING GEOMETRIC FORM WITH THE RAMP IN
MAIN POSITION WAS USED TO BE A SYMBOLISM OF
THE DEVELOPMENT.
ON THE FIRST FLOOR, THERE IS A SERVICE AREA,
A DINING-HALL, 2 CLASSROOMS FOR ELEMENTARY
SCHOOL, AND TOILETS. THE LIBRARY, THE
AUDITORIUM AND FIVE CLASSROOMS FOR MIDDLE
SCHOOL ARE LOCATED IN THE SECOND FLOOR.

ACCORDING TO THE HOUSES OF MIES VAN DER ROHE                                  KITCHEN IS
THE OBJECTIVE WAS TO PROJECT 4 HOUSES THAT                                    INTEGRATED WITH
COULD TRANSMIT AN INTERIOR ATMOSPHERE WHICH                                   ANOTHER ROOM,
EACH ROOM COULD SEE A COURT.                                                  SEPARATED ONLY
THE PLAN IS DEVELOPED UNDER THE FIBONACCI                                     WITH FURNITURE.

SUBJECT: INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOP OF URBAN DESIGN
         [TEAM WORK]

THE PROJECT WAS DEVELOPED FOR AN INTERNATIONAL
WORKSHOP, REALIZED IN LONDRINA-BRAZIL 2009.
THE ADVISERS WERE JAN B. ZWIEJSKI (UNIVERSITÉ
LAVAL), JORGE DANIEL DE MELO MOURA AND MILENA
KANASHIRO (UEL).                               N
THE PURPOSE WAS TO CONNECT THE NEIGHBORHOOD
GLEBA PALHANO WITH THE WEST NEIGHBORHOOD, THE      ON THE GREEN
LAKE AND THE PRINCIPAL STREETS OF THE CITY.        AXIS, AS THE
THE MAIN IDEA WAS TO                               PRIMARY ONE,

SUBJECT: PROJECT III

THE DOUGH FROM THE PIZZA WAS CREATED BY
THE EGYPTIANS AND THE IDEA OF THIS DISH
WAS DEVELOPED BY THE ITALIANS. THE FIRST
AND PRINCIPAL THOUGHT WAS TO INITIATE THE
PROJECT WITH STRUCTURES SUCH AS THE ARCHED
ROOF, WHICH WAS USED BY THE EGYPTIANS TO
BUILD THEIR HOUSES WITH THE ADOBE BRICK.
THE MOST NATURAL CURVE IS THE ONE THAT IS
DRAWN NEAR THE PARABLE.
             THE ENVIRONMENT IS, ON EAST,
             A BIG AVENUE WITH TALL
             BUILDINGS AND A VALLEY WITH
             SEVERAL TREES ON WEST. THE

             STRUCTURE STARTS ON EAST WITH NINE
             BEAMS ON THE TOP OF SEVEN PORTICOS
             AND FINALIZES ON WEST WITH CURVED        THE BUILDING SITE WAS CUT
             BEAMS. EACH BEAM HAS A DIFFERENT         SO THE FIRST FLOOR IS HALF
             CURVATURE IN ORDER TO ESTABLISH THE      BURIED. THAT AREA WILL BE
             PARABLE SHAPE.                           USED FOR CUSTOMER PARKING

SUBJECT: PROJECT III

THE PROJECT WAS DEVELOPED ON ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT
CORNERS IN THE DOWNTOWN AREA OF LONDRINA. THE PROJECT
HAS A SIMPLE STANDARD PAVEMENT PLAN THAT PROVIDES THE
BEST VIEW FOR THE CENTER BUILDINGS ON NORTHEAST TO
EVERY COMMERCIAL ROOM. THE BASE HAS A
COMMERCIAL AREA WITH 100 M² OF STORES
WHICH HAVE A DOUBLE CEILING HEIGHT. THE
BUILDING WITH 23 LEVELS HAS A TWO LEVEL
PARKING GARAGE WHICH THE SECOND ONE IS
EXCLUSIVE FOR OFFICES.

SUBJECT: BULDINGS TECNIQUE

MADE OF WOOD FRAMES WITH DOUBLE-LAYER
COATING WALLS THAT PROVIDES THERMAL AND
ACOUSTIC PERFORMANCE, THE BUILDING SYSTEM OF
THE HOUSEIS SELF-SUPPORTING IN CAPTURATION
AND TREATMENTOF WATER BY THE GREENROOF.
BESIDES, IT APPLIES A NEW TECHNOLOGY TO
GENERATE EFFICIENT SOLAR ENERGY IN BRAZIL DUE
TO THE ABUNDANCE OF SUNLIGHT.THE HOUSE
ACCOMMODATES FOUR PEOPLE AND IT HAS 40 M². THE
FURNITURE CAN BE PUT INSIDE WARDROBES IN ORDER
TO SAVE SPACE, BECAUSE OF THE SMALL PLAN. THE
VISION OF THE PROJECT IS TO ACHIEVE AN OPEN      perspective from THE STRUCTURE

SUBJECT: BULDINGS TECNIQUE

THE CONCEPT OF THE HOUSE WAS TO BUILD AN
INTEGRATED NEIGHBOURHOOD. THE HOUSES ARE
ONE-SIDE GEMINATED AND IN THE MIDDLE OF
EACH TWO HOUSES THERE IS A YARD. THE SOUTH
HAS A RETAINING WALL MADE OF USED TYRES.
PEOPLE CAN WALK THROUGH THE YARD, ON
SIDEWALKS IN BETWEEN HOUSES, ON THE GREEN
ROOFS AND EVEN BETWEEN THEM, ON THE
FOOTBRIDGES.

ACCORDING TO THE LAWS OF LAND
DIVISION, THE DIVISION INTO LOTS
MAKES THE AMPLE SPACE POSSIBLE LIKE
A NET OF ROADS TO CARS AND
PEDESTRIANS, AND AMPLE SPACE OF
EXISTING FOREST PRESERVATION, AS A
SIGNIFICANT LEISURE AREA. THE
POSSIBLE PATHS CREATE A PLOT OF
PARALLEL AND PERPENDICULAR LINES
THAT ALLOW THE ORDERLY DISPLACEMENT
AND ORTHOGONAL FLOW IN ALL                                    LINEAR square PLAN
DIRECTIONS. THE BLOCKS ARE

SUBJECT: URBANISM III

THE PROJECT IS LOCATED IN FRONT OF AN HISTORIC
BUILDING: THE ANTIQUE TRAIN STATION, WHICH IS
LONDRINA'S HISTORIC MUSEUM. THE PURPOSE OF THE
DESIGN WAS TO BLEND THE PROJECT WITH THE
NATURALLANDSCAPE SO IT DID NOT LESSENED THE
IMPORTANCE OF THE COLONIAL ARCHITECTURE OF THE
MUSEUM. THE MAIN IDEA WAS TO RESTIMULATE THE
COMMERCE FROM ALL TYPES OF PUBLIC SO THE

PROJECT INSERTS AN OUTLET, WHICH IS DEVELOPED
FROM EAST TO WEST IN THE BLOCK. THREE RESIDENCE
BUILDINGS ARE PROPOSED IN PARALLEL TO MAINTAIN

A PARKING GARAGE IS OFFERED TO THE OUTLET AT

MODEL SUBJECT: TRIDIMENSIONAL REPRESENTATION THE «PAVILLION FOR THE NEW YORK FAIR» (LUCIO COSTA/OSCAR NIEMEYER - 1938) IS AN IMPORTANT BUILDING FROM THE 20TH CENTURY, BECAUSE OF ITS SIGNIFICANCE IN THE BRAZILIAN HISTORY OF MODERN ARCHITECTURE.   • 7. ACADEMIC CENTER SUBJECT: PROJECT I THE ACADEMIC CENTER WAS THE FIRST DEVELOPED PROJECT. IT WAS BASED ON THE WORK OF VILANOVA ARTIGAS (ONE OF THE REPRESENTATIVES OF THE BRAZILIAN MODERN ARCHITECTURE MOVEMENT).THE BULDING RESTORES SOME IMPORTANT ELEMENTS OF ARTIGA'S ARCHITECTURE.FOR INSTANCE THE HORIZONTALITY, THE COMPOSITION WITH DIFFERENT LEVELS INSIDE THE BUILDING, AND THE USE OF <<COBOGO>> (AN ELEMENT THAT PROTECTS THE BUILDING FROM DIRECT SUNLIGHT).   • 9. PUBLIC SCHOOL SUBJECT: PROJECT II THIS PROJECT IS A PROPOSAL OF AN OPEN SCHOOL WITH AN ORGANIC DESIGN THAT HAS THE OBJECTIVE OF EXPLORING THE CRIATIVITY OF THE STUDENTS. THE SPIRAL WAS INTRODUCED ON THE PLAN USING THE GEOMETRY WITH THE GOLDEN NUMBER. THE FOLLOWING GEOMETRIC FORM WITH THE RAMP IN MAIN POSITION WAS USED TO BE A SYMBOLISM OF THE DEVELOPMENT. ON THE FIRST FLOOR, THERE IS A SERVICE AREA, A DINING-HALL, 2 CLASSROOMS FOR ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, AND TOILETS.   • 10. 4 COURT-HOUSES EACH HOUSE HAS 2 COURTS, A LIVING SUBJECT: PROJECT II ROOM, AND A BATHROOM. THE ACCORDING TO THE HOUSES OF MIES VAN DER ROHE KITCHEN IS THE OBJECTIVE WAS TO PROJECT 4 HOUSES THAT INTEGRATED WITH COULD TRANSMIT AN INTERIOR ATMOSPHERE WHICH ANOTHER ROOM, EACH ROOM COULD SEE A COURT. SEPARATED ONLY THE PLAN IS DEVELOPED UNDER THE FIBONACCI WITH FURNITURE. SEQUENCE THAT CONSTRUCTS SQUARES - WHICH THE THE BATHROOM FIRST ONE IS THE BATHROOM - THAT ARE RELATED STAYS IN THE TO EACH OTHER ACCORDING TO THE PARAMETER SHOWN MIDDLE AND HAS BELOW.   • 12. MULTIPURPOSE COMPLEX SUBJECT: INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOP OF URBAN DESIGN [TEAM WORK] THE PROJECT WAS DEVELOPED FOR AN INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOP, REALIZED IN LONDRINA-BRAZIL 2009. THE ADVISERS WERE JAN B. ZWIEJSKI (UNIVERSITÉ LAVAL), JORGE DANIEL DE MELO MOURA AND MILENA KANASHIRO (UEL). N THE PURPOSE WAS TO CONNECT THE NEIGHBORHOOD GLEBA PALHANO WITH THE WEST NEIGHBORHOOD, THE ON THE GREEN LAKE AND THE PRINCIPAL STREETS OF THE CITY. AXIS, AS THE THE MAIN IDEA WAS TO PRIMARY ONE, ESTIMULATE THE TWO AXIS. THE INTENTION WAS TO PROPOSE A COMMERCIAL AREA THAT COULD 2009 ATTRACT PEOPLE. A SCULPTURE GARDEN AND A GREEK THEATER WERE PUT FORWARD AT THE EMPTY AREA IN THE TOWARDS THE END OF THE END OF THE RED GREEN AXIS. AXIS THERE WAS A DETERIORATED AREA. THE PROJECT WAS A SPORT AREA FOR THE COMMUNITY. 12
  • 13. PIZZA RESTAURANT N SUBJECT: PROJECT III THE DOUGH FROM THE PIZZA WAS CREATED BY THE EGYPTIANS AND THE IDEA OF THIS DISH WAS DEVELOPED BY THE ITALIANS. THE FIRST AND PRINCIPAL THOUGHT WAS TO INITIATE THE PROJECT WITH STRUCTURES SUCH AS THE ARCHED ROOF, WHICH WAS USED BY THE EGYPTIANS TO BUILD THEIR HOUSES WITH THE ADOBE BRICK. THE MOST NATURAL CURVE IS THE ONE THAT IS DRAWN NEAR THE PARABLE. THE ENVIRONMENT IS, ON EAST, A BIG AVENUE WITH TALL BUILDINGS AND A VALLEY WITH SEVERAL TREES ON WEST. THE 2009 LOCATION plan STRUCTURE STARTS ON EAST WITH NINE BEAMS ON THE TOP OF SEVEN PORTICOS AND FINALIZES ON WEST WITH CURVED THE BUILDING SITE WAS CUT BEAMS. EACH BEAM HAS A DIFFERENT SO THE FIRST FLOOR IS HALF CURVATURE IN ORDER TO ESTABLISH THE BURIED. THAT AREA WILL BE PARABLE SHAPE. USED FOR CUSTOMER PARKING AND FOOD RECEPTION.   • 15. COMMERCIAL BULDING N SUBJECT: PROJECT III THE PROJECT WAS DEVELOPED ON ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT CORNERS IN THE DOWNTOWN AREA OF LONDRINA. THE PROJECT HAS A SIMPLE STANDARD PAVEMENT PLAN THAT PROVIDES THE BEST VIEW FOR THE CENTER BUILDINGS ON NORTHEAST TO EVERY COMMERCIAL ROOM. THE BASE HAS A COMMERCIAL AREA WITH 100 M² OF STORES WHICH HAVE A DOUBLE CEILING HEIGHT. THE BUILDING WITH 23 LEVELS HAS A TWO LEVEL PARKING GARAGE WHICH THE SECOND ONE IS EXCLUSIVE FOR OFFICES. SOCIAL HOUSE SUBJECT: BULDINGS TECNIQUE MADE OF WOOD FRAMES WITH DOUBLE-LAYER COATING WALLS THAT PROVIDES THERMAL AND ACOUSTIC PERFORMANCE, THE BUILDING SYSTEM OF THE HOUSEIS SELF-SUPPORTING IN CAPTURATION AND TREATMENTOF WATER BY THE GREENROOF. BESIDES, IT APPLIES A NEW TECHNOLOGY TO GENERATE EFFICIENT SOLAR ENERGY IN BRAZIL DUE TO THE ABUNDANCE OF SUNLIGHT.THE HOUSE ACCOMMODATES FOUR PEOPLE AND IT HAS 40 M². THE FURNITURE CAN BE PUT INSIDE WARDROBES IN ORDER TO SAVE SPACE, BECAUSE OF THE SMALL PLAN.   • 18. SOCIAL HOUSE SUBJECT: BULDINGS TECNIQUE THE CONCEPT OF THE HOUSE WAS TO BUILD AN INTEGRATED NEIGHBOURHOOD. THE HOUSES ARE ONE-SIDE GEMINATED AND IN THE MIDDLE OF EACH TWO HOUSES THERE IS A YARD. THE SOUTH HAS A RETAINING WALL MADE OF USED TYRES. SOCIAL NEIGHBOURHOOD SUBJECT: URBANISM III ACCORDING TO THE LAWS OF LAND DIVISION, THE DIVISION INTO LOTS MAKES THE AMPLE SPACE POSSIBLE LIKE A NET OF ROADS TO CARS AND PEDESTRIANS, AND AMPLE SPACE OF EXISTING FOREST PRESERVATION, AS A SIGNIFICANT LEISURE AREA. THE POSSIBLE PATHS CREATE A PLOT OF PARALLEL AND PERPENDICULAR LINES THAT ALLOW THE ORDERLY DISPLACEMENT AND ORTHOGONAL FLOW IN ALL LINEAR square PLAN DIRECTIONS. THE BLOCKS ARE 2009 DISTRIBUTED INTO RECTANGLES WHICH HAVE EACH LOT FACING BOTH STREETS, PROVIDING THE QUALITY OF THE PROPOSED SPACE. ONE CAN PROPOSE 654 DWELLINGS IN AN AREA OF 283386.5 M².   • 21. MULTIPURPOSE COMPLEX SUBJECT: URBANISM III THE PROJECT IS LOCATED IN FRONT OF AN HISTORIC BUILDING: THE ANTIQUE TRAIN STATION, WHICH IS LONDRINA'S HISTORIC MUSEUM. THE PURPOSE OF THE DESIGN WAS TO BLEND THE PROJECT WITH THE NATURALLANDSCAPE SO IT DID NOT LESSENED THE IMPORTANCE OF THE COLONIAL ARCHITECTURE OF THE MUSEUM. THE MAIN IDEA WAS TO RESTIMULATE THE COMMERCE FROM ALL TYPES OF PUBLIC SO THE 2010 PROJECT INSERTS AN OUTLET, WHICH IS DEVELOPED FROM EAST TO WEST IN THE BLOCK. THREE RESIDENCE BUILDINGS ARE PROPOSED IN PARALLEL TO MAINTAIN LIFE MOVEMENT DURING ALL DAY. A PARKING GARAGE IS OFFERED TO THE OUTLET AT THE NORTH SIDE OF THE BLOCK, IN FRONT OF THE model VIEW from SOUTHEAST RESIDENCE BUILDINGS. model VIEW from EAST model VIEW from WEST 21

REHABILITATION CENTER SUBJECT: THESIS REGARDING THE INCREASE OF ELDERLY WITH DEGENERATIVE DISEASES, THIS THESIS PROPOSES A NEW PERSPECTIVE ON DESIGNING A REHABILITATION HAMLET 2 HAMLET 3 CENTER FOR ALZHEIMER'S. THE VARIOS STAGES OF NEW UKRANIAN NEW UKRANIAN 2011 COLONY’S MEMORY DEGENERATION WERE CONTEMPLATED AND FIRST COLONY’S RURAL MEMORY MATCHED WITH THE PROJECT'S PROGRAM, WHICH MEMORIES COMBINED FOUR HAMLETS ASSOCIATED WITH THE COMMUNITY HISTORY OF THE AREA. THIS THESIS ALSO DISCUSSES THE POSSIBILITY TO UTILIZE THE HAMLET 1 FAMILIAR RECONIZABLE ETHNOGRAPHIC LANSDCAPE FOR NEW UKRANIAN COLONY’S HAMLET 4 THERAPEUTIC PURPOSES, AS AT THIS CASE WAS MEMORY APUCARANA’S URBAN STUDIED IN AN UKRANIAN COLONY AT THE STATE OF MEMORY PARANA-BRAZIL.
