The document discusses the various technologies used in constructing a thriller film opening. A Nikon 3200 DSLR camera and tripod were used to film shots. An editing PC with Adobe Premier Pro CS6 was used to edit the videos and combine shots. Blogger was used to document the process and embed videos and technologies. YouTube uploaded videos to blogger. Other technologies discussed include Prezi for presentation, Popplet for mind mapping, Powtoon for animation, WhatsApp for group communication, and Wikipedia for research.
3. CAMERA
To film all of our shots videos and our actual final opening,
we used my own camera which was a DSLR the name of
the camera is Nikon 3200. This camera was very simple
to use and gave a sharp clear image for our videos. I was
mainly using the camera and filming and I found it very
light and easy to film with.
4. TRIPOD
To film many of the shots in our final film we used the
tripod to hold the camera, this gave us very lean and
steady shots it was also making it very simple to use as
we wouldn’t have to hold the camera a lot as we would
place it on the tripod and film many of the shots for
instance; long shots, medium shots etc.
5. EDITING PC
The editing PC that we used was very good as we had
two SD cards and had to use them both as they both had
shots of our thriller opening on them. The PC made it
straightforward and very quick to make the other videos
have the same settings as the original one. The PC
worked quick and had no faults it was very easy for us
students to work out how to use too after practice.
7. BLOGGER
Throughout the project of creating our opening thriller film, I used blogger to
keep data of my work and what I have done to create my opening film. It also
helped me understand all the concepts of what needs to be done before making
a film. I learnt how to make tabs and pages, I also learnt how to upload videos
and pictures also embed other technologies things onto the blog. Blogger is an
excellent way to present coursework especially for a subject like media as it
involves a lot of individual parts which. Using blogger it helps with connecting to
the audience and it is very simple and easy to use. One disadvantage is that you
can not make it look as good as it is very simple.
8. YOUTUBE
YouTube has helped me to publish videos that I can then post onto blogger by
simply uploading it to my account and then. I first used YouTube to post my
different camera shots, I also used it to post one of my powtoons onto the blog
as the embedded code would not work, and I lastly uploaded my final film.
YouTube was a quick and easy tech that I could use and upload instantly to the
blog with no hesitation.
9. ADOBE PREMIER PRO CS6
Adobe Premier is an editing tool to use to create sustainable edited videos, this
helped throughout the coursework for me to easily edit my videos and place
them together into one, by cutting scenes short or changing the pace or cutting
sound or adding sound in. It was a very complex tech to use as many keys and
features were provided but with practice I understood the main features that I
had to use to create the videos I made.
10. PREZI
I used prezi effectively throughout this project as it was a good tech
to use and learn, it helped to spread my work out nicely and neatly
and present it in another way on my blog. I learnt how to place
images and change fonts also add more spaces for text to be put.
Also learnt how to change the background image and how to
change the arrangement of everything.
11. POPPLET
I used popplet twice for my blog, I used it when showing the forms
and conventions of the Thriller genre and I also used it for one of
my evaluation questions. It is a very easy tech to use as I learnt
how to use it very quickly, it is basic and simple but presents your
work very well. I learnt how to place images and also change
colour of background and add colour to the bubbles around the
texts. It is a basic way to make a mind map on the web.
12. POWTOON
Powtoon was very difficult for me to use, I only used it once for my
blog. The timing for the text to appear on the screen was difficult to
handle as it would only have a little bit of time and very hard to
read it like that. However I did learn how to use it, and once I did it
became simple. I learnt how to create different animations and
transitions to appear with the text and images, also learnt how to
add music and how to make it flow well.
13. WHATSAPP
The app was used mainly to keep in contact with all group
members for when the date would be to arrive together to
film our media film. It was a great app to use as
communicating with each other was key as we had to all
contribute so if one could not then they could inform the
other group members.
14. WIKIPEDIA
Helped with accessing information about films and
companies, as information can be difficult to find on the
web about some things, Wikipedia was a site which had
everything right in front of you and gave enough
information for you to understand everything easily.
