Considerable design and detailed engineering efforts are required for
designing individual components of the skid, and in integrating the
componentsintomakingacompactandefficientsystem.
Chemical conditioning of feed water / steam condensate cycle, is essential to
preventcorrosionandscaleformation.Dosingcanbeoftwotypes:

Corrosion: Corrosivecomponents,especiallyO2andCO2havetoberemoved,
usually by use of a deaerator. Remnants can be removed chemically, by use of
oxygenscavenger.
Feedwater has to be alkalized to a pH of 9 or higher, to reduce oxidation and to
support the forming of a stable layer of magnetite on the water-side surface of
the boiler, protecting the material underneath from further corrosion. This is
usually done by dosing alkalies into the feedwater, like sodium hydroxide
(causticsoda)orvolatileammonia.

Corrosion rate of M.S. surface is lowest, when pH is between 9 - 10. Dosing is
therefore done, to maintain pH & reduce scaling. Generally, phospate solution
is dosed into the boiler drum, under full boiler pressure. Hence the term “High
PressureDosing”.
Dissolved oxygen in feed water causes serious corrosion. Hence "oxygen
scavengers" or "de-oxygenators" are dosed into feedwater. Dosing done into
feed water stream, either at BFP suction, or at deareator, at low pressures.
Hencetheterm“LowPressureDosing”.
Manually operated dosing systems, utilizing standard mechanical dosing
pumps, will satisfy the needs of most steady-state operations. Where process
conditions require frequent changes in dosing conditions, auto-controlled
systemsareneeded.

Refurbishment
We offer refurbishment services for used dosing systems (life extension
services). In addition to upgradation/refurbishment of mechanical
equipment, we also undertake upgradation of older system control panels to
bring it in line with modern digital controls and DCS plant interfaces. These
services are offered at our works and the service detalis will vary according to
theconditionoftheoldequipment.

where we do detailed design engineering
for all types of fluid handling systems, such
as Dosing Systems, Fuel Oil Systems, Lube
Oil systems, Oxygen Dosing Systems, etc.

engineering of these systems, and we can generate process flow diagrams, GA
drawings, plant layouts, etc., as well as generate engineering data for the
same. Apart from design validation, we can do 3-D modelling and also carry

to changes in process conditions,

logic controllers, which take signal from
process sensors, and adjust dosing

preferred by most users, to reduce

The chemicals are fed into the system by automatic feeders on timers, or
actuated by conductivity /pH meters. Automatic chemical feeding tends to
decreasechemicaldosingrequirements.
