2. Ollantytambo
Ollantytambo is at the northern end of the
sacred valley in Peru. Historians believe that it
was built around 1440 AD by the Inca Emperor
Pachacuti. It is one of the biggest Incas cities
discovered by the Spaniards. This place is part
of the Incas culture but other cultures must
have originally created it for still unknown
reasons. In the 15th century the Incas
conquered the city and began building it again.
3. They built terraces for farming and an irrigation
system. These terraces were made of stone.
Each stone weighs 50 tons. One of the most
important artifacts found there is the Gateway of
Gods which was built thousands of years ago.
Ollantytambo has just everything around it such
as agricultural terraces, giant stone walls and a
labyrinth in the entrance.
