Deborah Scranton gave a Ted Talk on her documentary "War Tapes" which featured raw footage and audio from soldiers in Iraq to bring awareness to the disconnect between civilians and soldiers, engaging the audience with personal stories and visuals of the harsh realities of war while following the recommendation to thoroughly prepare without notes. The presentation was rated 4 out of 5 for its informative, tangible insights from real experiences rather than just opinions.
4. Deborah Scranton captured the attention of her audience
with bold visuals of the harsh realities of war.
5. Deborah Scranton maintained the engagement of her
audience with personal stories of the soldiers and the
experiences that they endured.
6. I believe Ms. Scranton followed the II Commandment: Dream Big.
She provided footage of soldiers video taping their experiences
as they happen in the heart of the Irag War. Footage that traditionally
is never seen by civilians.
7. In regards to dynamism in Deborah Scranton’s Ted Talk
I would rate her presentation a 4 out of 5.
8. I felt the presentation could of used a little
less video footage and a bit more of a
personal touch with the spoken word. Aside
from that I found the work to be very
insightful.
9. Out of all the tips and recommendations from
Reynolds and Duarte, I found, “Preparation” to be the
most utilized tip in Ms. Scranton’s presentation. She
used no notes or tele-prompters to assist her in her
delivery and it came off very genuine.
10. When giving a presentation, your delivery may be the most
important aspect of the overall impact of the topic you are
discussing. Good flow, a touch of humor and a strong knowledge of
your topic are key ingredients to a successful speech or presentation.
11. Deborah Scranton’s
presentation
seemed to be more
informative and tangible.The
Sir Robinson’s humor was very
real world video and audio effective and kept you listening but
really hit it home, its truth, his topic seemed to be more
opinionated and less factual. I
not opinion. walked away with two new jokes
and not enough inspiration.
12. Based on the Ted Talk that I chose, the best advise I would give my fellow classmates
is to first and foremost be well “Prepared” and “Confident” with the content of your
presentation.
13. Secondly, I would suggest your make use of “video” visual aids as
the seem to capture the audience’s attention much more
effectively. Also, stay relaxed and enjoy the experience.
