2. History Of BJP
• The BJP is a successor of Party Bharatiya Jana Sangh founded in
1951.
• BJS was formed to suppress the congress ideology, but never
seriously challenged it before India's independence.
• BJS joined a coalition of parties in 1977,to form a new Janta
Party,BJP.
• BJP won 2 seats in the year of 1984,88 seats in 1989,and 120
seats in 1991 lok sabha elections and became the premier
opposition party.
• In 1996,it became the single largest party apart from Congress to
form a government.
• At the time of formation of National Democratic alliance (NDA),
it was led by BJP.
3. BJP in Present Time
• BJP is mostly supported by urban educated Hindu middle class
people.
• BJP now has become one of the most important and prominent
parties of India.
• BJP believes in socialism inspired by Gandhi,stands up for positive
secularism and supports ‘Hindutva’.
• BJP emphasized on ‘Hindu Ideom’ in its political menifesto.
• Party aims to transform India in to a modern, progressive and
enlightened nation and drawn inspiration from India's ancient
Indian culture and values.
