4. On the day of Mangsir 24 . Our school took the
students of class 7 to lumle as an educational
tour for a day. We visited the agriculture resource
centre located in lumle vdc
. lumle lies in the north west from pokhara
It covers a small area of lumle VDC ,which lies
protected in Annapurna Conservation Area
Protect(ACAP). It is established to provide
knowledge to people about agriculture and
method of farming and rearing animals. There
are several people who look after different field
under the resource centre , handling their own
responsibility.
5. The main objectives of one day tour of Lumle
are:
To gain more knowledge about the
agriculture.
To learn the method of farming.
To learn how to keep animals.
6. To ful fill the objectives of tour , we apply the
following method .
1. Primary source
As per primary source i directly visit the
agricultural resource centre at lumle .i asked
many question with local people and they
provide more information about that place.
2. Secondary source
I used internet to gain more information.i study
many books, newspapers, magazines and
pamplets to gain extra knowledge.
7. After visiting the lumle ,i found following things
there:
1. I learn method of farming process.
2. I learn how to keep/tame animals.
3. I found local people are farming very
scientifically even in pokhara valley people
donot test soil to sow suitable crop. due to the
presence of agriculture resource centre in lumle
,people of this VDC test the soil to sow suitable
crop as per season . They use adequate amount
of fertilizer in the fixed time after sowing the
crops and mostly use compost manure and
other organic fertilizers instead of chemical
fertilizers.
8. After the visiting of this resource centre i
concluded that the agriculture resource centre
has helped people in many ways so as to improve
their agriculture standard and for more
improvement i would like to suggest some points
as follows:
1. Nepal is a agricultural country so that
government need to give more priority to it.
2. It is better to give more knowledge about
agriculture to the local people living in that VDC.
3. Local people need to be aware about how to
protect and conserve it.
