Glossary
News
Studio newsreaders -People who will report the new from within the studio, for example George Alagiah.
Field reporters- a news reporter who will be off site.
Links to studio- when the reporter off site is talking live to the studio.
Mode of address to viewer- how formal or informal the news is.
Interviewing- When the staff interview people.
Experts and witnesses – They may have experts in when they are talking about a particular subject, to give us a better
understanding of the topic.
Report structure- The way the report is told to the viewers, for example, in the studio or off set.
Actuality footage – live footage of something important happening.

Documentary formats
expository, - A nonfiction film that emphasizes verbal commentary and argumentative logic
Observational, - Observing people without getting involved.
reflexive, - Draw attention to their own contractedness, and the fact that they are representations
per formative,- stress subjective experience and emotional response to the world.
Interactive,- When they audience gets involved.
realism; - a realistic documentary
dramatization; - a documentary that is over exaggerated
narrativisation - the way the story is told.

The mode of address is important, this matters on what story you are telling, or
what channel you are on. The less series news is told informally, for example
when celebrities have children. On the other hand if the subject was on death
then the news would be taken seriously and formal.
They interview people on the news in order to get another opinion, this is an
impact on the viewers as they see someone telling their side of the story or their
opinion which is important in order to understand it more. This includes
interviewing Witnesses.
The report stricter is important to the viewers; it will keep the audience attention.
This includes changing the scenery, going off set on to a different location,
going live to an offsite reporter.
Actual footage is another important elliment to the news, this gives the
audience to judge the situation by themselves.
